This saw th-cam.com/users/postUgkx84IcU5pbZd1Qrz8u4-YRLmJax7kdRi7B comes in handy in many ways. When I had a small (dead) tree fall I started the process of disposal by using this saw and cutting off the small branches. Then slowly work on the small trunk with undercutting and letting it fall down. With many trees on acres of land paying for a tree service can be expensive. It also is nice in that it can be used in hard to get areas like along my creek. It's also safer and quieter than a chainsaw. It obviously can't cut down massive trees but it does work fine for small ones or brush. And of course since I already own a Black
The multipurpose blade DeWalt gives can be used for metal. I cut 0.05” stainless with it. Cuts like butter. Just remember to remove the plastic extractor hood before cutting metal. Make SURE any blade you buy is rated over 20,000 rpm. There are a lot of 3” blades rated at 10,500 or so. Don’t use those. They may explode!
All right people, check this out. I work all day with tools in my hand and this tool was a game changer for me. I was using the DeWALT 20V and corded angle grinders for years cutting different things but when Ryobi came out with this tool first, I bought one and it worked great but the best thing was it was LIGHTWEIGHT. As soon as this one came available from DeWALT I ordered one and tossed the Ryobi in the corner. This thing makes working all day cutting tile a breeze...and yes, as soon as that vac came out I got it as well. I actually keep both tools in the carry bag the vacuum comes in.
@@napolitanotile2919 I bought it because Ryobi had the tool out a year before DeWALT did...It was a cheap way to evaluate if I wanted the tool or not. It WORKED though...lol
Based on your recommendation, I purchased the Dewalt Hepa Handheld Vac to use for dust collection, but it does not fit into the dust collection port on the cut off tool because it is too long and tapered. It looks like you may have cut off part of the nozzle on the handheld vac hose. Did you modify the hose to fit the cut off tool extraction port?
I am having the same issue with the hose connection... did you by chance find a different way to connect the two tools ? I have the same tools as you and the same issue...lol
I found a solution online. It's not a great solution, but it does work. If you remove the bristles from the round brush that comes with the vacuum (they are attached to a ring that just pulls or twists out), the remaining body of the brush just fits on the dust port of the cut off tool. Not the most secure attachment, but it does work.
That sounds ok , but i called Dewalt about this and the house on our handheld vac isn't designed for this but he showed me another hose to buy with that adapter. Please see item numbers DWV9000 - 1 adapter 5140128-68 - 1 hose
The hose we have on the handheld the fitting won't screw off but this other hose im telling you about will allow you to remove the factory fitting and apply the dcv9000 adapter then you will be able to connect to the airlock fitting on the dust shroud... 🙌
I kinda like a small pump bottle with water, pressurize bottle set it so a thin jet comes off and use that to cool the blades, or get some 1/8" inch ice maker line, and hose connector, with shut off. is the other way like to cool blades.
I have the milwaukee version and they are awesome, total life saver for cutting new electrical outlets in existing tile and even plaster. I would have been trying to cut those with an abrasive multitool blade. Fyi for the M12 version, get the bigger batteries
Does anyone know if the guard can be removed? I'm hoping to use this as a smaller jam saw but that would need to be similar to a grinder. Let me know!!
They say its about the weight. However i dont find my 1100W 4 1/2" corded grinder heavy at all. What i reslly found interesting and i am seriously thinking about it its the Worx Maker X angle grinder which is really really small. Yet i am worry about its capacity even with delicate situations. But man.. That is really tiny!
Awesome little tool! I scored one at HD with two DeWalt XR batteries (4 & 6 AH) and a charger plus carrying bag all for $199 at the HD Black Friday sale (or pre-sale, as it is).
Looks like you were cutting in the opposite direction of the arrows on the wheel...I don't know if that matters much. Also have you noticed that the Forward & Reverse markings on the tool are wrong?
It works great for wire shelves. I used it for cutting mine in half so I could stack the washer and dryer where the wire shelf used to be and I used it to clean up wire shelf cuts in the store next to my workshop after my elderly mother cut herself badly in their drink cooler (like, the kind of injury some would sue over). It made quick work of both. I love that the size and control let you bevel edges to avoid leaving sharp cuts.
It’d take a bit of work. The hinge pin as well as a bit of the front part of the shoe protrude just a tiny amount so you won’t get an edge exactly parallel to the blade. I’d love to get these issues fixed so I can run a woodworking blade on this and use with straightedges, etc. This can be quite a versatile little saw.
I know you use DEWALT and I appreciate the battery consistency However, have you seen this tool by Makita that has a water (wet cut ) system? Wish Montolit made a Diamond gold blade in this size. The DEWALT setup is a great one. The size of these tools makes all the difference-game changer. Thanks for all your excellent reviews
Just bought mine today. I just love the compactness and yet very powerful brushless motor. I have dewalt brand tools so this will be another great addition to all my other dewalt power tools.
I have the m12 version of this tool, & was very disappointed until I got the 6.0 batteries. It's alot better now but I've still heard the dewalt is way better for this tool. Makes sense being dewalt is 20v vs the milwaukee is 12v
So to me the most important thing is how rough or smooth is a straight rip. It would be great to see this done with an in depth view of the edge it leaves behind on different material.
We run a pair of the M12 ones, one loaded with metal disks and swap it to a multi blade for doing durok valves and holes, and the other loaded with a diamond blade for tile work. Where did you find that stencil at? I've been making cutout templates whenever I run into different size flanges and valves but that would be super handy.
For anyone considering this tool just an FYI its a battery sucker. I wouldn't consider bringing this to a job for the day without a couple 6ah batteries or at least a 9ah I do alot of tile work and usually go through like 1 and 1/3rd 9ah batteries but they are significantly heavier if you're working over head. Definitely something to consider if you have bad shoulders like me
Hello, I like your videos, can you please point me in the right direction as to where did you purchase the plastic stencil / template tool ? a direct link would be awesome. Thank you !
You know what this tool looks like? Like they took the design and build of the old Milwaukee 3 inch cut off tool model 2522-20 then just adjusted it to work on the 20v battery system. Reminds me of how Hyundai just copies Honda and Toyota
