The LEGO 76240 DC Batman Batmobile Tumbler is the new version of the original 76023 Tumbler from 2014. Is this a just a slightly updated version or does it have real improvements? And how do they compare to the minifig-scale 76239 LEGO DC Batman Batmobile Tumbler: Scarecrow Showdown set? You can find out in this video!

Normally I'd go for the bigger models but the smaller minifigure scaled one exists and it is just fantastic! Yes it's relatively pricey next to other certain similar sets from other themes, but it's significantly more affordable and easier to handle than the larger Tumbler and doesn't need a ton of space!
The larger one is obviously going to be more detailed, but I think it's too closely priced to the 1989 Keaton era Batmobile, which is only £/€10 more but it's a lot longer with over 50% more pieces.

6:40 The *Tumbler* 's stand is _supposed_ to be sloped: Since this Batmobile is kinda leaning forward, putting it on that stand will display it more straight. I'd rather have had a higher stand so the wheels wouldn't touch the ground, and the Batmobile would be in its correct position.

Nice detailed review. I just built the 2021 one. There is a reason why the stand is tilted. It is to prevent the tires get worn. However it is better to place the stand on the opposite side and turn the front to the stand. That way none of the tires touch the ground. Still it looks better when you see it from the side, but then 1 wheel still slightly touches the surface.

Very good video which covered the key things about the new Batmobile Tumbler set. I got one this week but didn't know about the first veresion released in 2014 until later on when I read some other reviews. It's sad to see that there aren't that many improvements from the first version. Completely agree with the key problems highlighted for the new big brother. There isn't much of playability with this model and it's better used as a display/collection. Personally that's ok with me but I do wish the top can be opened like the littlbe brother instead of having to be removed in order to access/view the interior.
The design of the stand just doesn't make any sense. You cannot freely rorate the vehilce on the stand because of the contacting part is not high enough to raise the back end of the vehicle off the surface is just sad.
I do really like the rear wheels on the new model as they look very intimidating which matches well with the overall theme of the Tumbler.

because I think the Wheels on that Set more closely resemble the Original Tumbler you showed.
It would be cool if you could try and put them on this Set since the wheel hub is the same and
I think the spacing could actually work out to be the same.
You said in you Video (4:46) that the spacers are the same but just visually there are 3 of the
black connector pieces in between the gray round Hubs and with them there I think it could work.

I think the rear wheels should have a similar profile to the buggy wheels but would need to be bigger. The stand works on the old one as well (built from pictures) I do have the rear wheels touching my shelf which does not concern me. I would like to add steering to the orginal but I don't want to pay the £20 for it as it includes RC and other features that I don't want (unless someone can direct me to ways to include steering). It is dissapointing that the new one does not include the headlights located behind the side windows (watch it closely and you will notice there are 3 rows of head lights ultimately just need 4 more parts).

I bought the small one for my son. Not sure if the big one finds his way in my office.

i like the old one better/front wheel arch/rear tires - the new one only the fron window was the improvement

I’m not entirely sure why they released virtually the same model (however I’m glad they did, I didn’t get a chance to grab the first). I also think they missed some opportunities with this, however, it’s a UCS model meant to be built, and displayed, so some of the stability and playability criticisms you gave are a little misplaced.

Let's assume it's strictly for display only, why does it have an interior then? I guess because it's a feature you can observe! Then steering and suspension could be something similar :) And I don't think stability is a "nice to have" feature with a LEGO set. If you cannot pick up the toughest Batmobile ever without loosing a part then something is wrong.

I believe the stand for the new one is supposed to be replicating it jumping or doing a stunt

The turn table is not a weird design choice, it's the somewhat correct one. If you pause the video at 6:50 you will see the model is level. The slight inclination in the turn table is to accommodate for the sag the weight of the wheels cause, so the model can be level. I said somewhat correct because the correct turn table would have been flat, but with the inclination on the rotating assembly instead. Hope that helps y'all.

Well if you want to provide a single position where the model is level then don't make it rotatable :) The problem is not with that specific position, it is with all the others where the model is not in balance.

What's disappointing is they didn't add a bat pod, idc if it's hard to make just do it

For $40, it’s hard to beat the minifig scale one. It’s durable, better scaled, and captures a reasonable amount of detail for the size.

Why remake the same set only 7 years later? Lego should start making updated versions of their 80s and 90s sets instead.

the new one definitely is last on my list, the minifig version is by far the best, how can they match it well in the small scale but miss the ball on the big ones? The narrower front on the new one looks quite ugly compared to the old model, so do the rear tires.

Thanks for highlighting the difference between the old and new. I have the old one, unbuilt, bought after it retired.
I like the rear tires on the new one. Does anyone think it’s possible to swap the rear tires on the new set with the old set when I finally get down to building it? Will the dimensions of the old allow the new tires to fit? Do I need to make much modifications in order to adapt it?
Thanks to anyone who can answer.

Nope, just fake ones at the rear. Just like the first version.
