I think the dementor attacked would still shape Dudley's maturity as it has in the original timeline it just would've happened sooner
I also think Dudley would 100% give a "tell all" interview to skeeter about Harrys home life, where he praises his parents but makes Harry look spoilt, rotten and hard to live with. I also think he'd feed information to Skeeter throughout the year, knowing that she could destroy Harry with her stories.

@@rsb2040 Snape in the books came from a very bad home environment. His dad was emotionally abusive and his parents fought all the time. Having an angry home can produce messed up kids

Now that I think, it would be a good time for Dudley to show his redemption because he will have two options, follow his parents to safety like he did originally, or follow Harry to destroy Horcruxes.
I think Dudley would go into hidding like the original story plus Dumbledor told Harry to only tell Ron and Hermione and I dont think Vernon and Petunia will allow Dudley to go i also think he will go to the mugle born registration couse he has connections with a use to be pure-blood family i say use to be couse Harry is the last decendent of the potter fam and hes a half-blood

I believe Dudley's character redemption will be slower here than in the books, he's Petunia's son after all. As Dean said, his anger and disdain towards Harry now stems from his jealousy, something that is closer to his heart. So don't expect a full redemption after Dudley's second Dementor attack on him.

I think Dudley knowing Harry better than anyone, having known each other for all their lives, would actually believe Harry immediately, and it would scare the living shit out of him... As a wizard, Dudley would have been able to see the Dementor when it attacked him, so he would probably have run away and left Harry to be attacked.

@shanks hernandez He did a video about that, but he should do an update on it. Basically, he thinks Petunia would be in Ravenclaw and still have sibling rivalry with Lily. Petunia would still be Guardian of Harry after Lily gets killed by Voldemort, but Harry would grow up in the Wizarding world. Dean also thinks that Petunia would marry someone from her school days. Who do you think she would marry? Snape? Oh, and @Harry Potter Folklore, do you think Petunia would marry Snape if she was a witch?

If Petunia was a witch, however, I think she would still be snobbish toward him, but he would tell her AND Lily about magic since Petunia is, according to Dean, 1 year older than Lily, so Petunia would attend Hogwarts 1 year before Lily. When Snape and Lily attend Hogwarts the following year, if Snape still called Lily the M word in this timeline, oh wait, Snape calling Lily the M word would most likely make Petunia MORE snobbish, sorry. Who do YOU think she would marry?

Couldn't find a date, was initially jealous of Harry, but when he found Harry and Ron sulking, he had a moment of "what have you got to sulk about?"

Man, I really am enjoying your series on Dudley.
The only thing is minor to the overall story but Dudley took up boxing getting more in shape, as a result. Only because of that do I have any thought of Dudley having any type of capacity for personal discipline. I can see him practicing and trying out, and failing, for a position as a Beater.
Dudley got into boxing because he was forced into losing weight by his boarding school, I don't know if Hogwarts would have that consideration. Dudley would still lose weight if he got into flying because he would definitely need to be of a certain weight to be any decent in it.
@@schris3 - Yeah... You're right. I don't know if Hogwarts would have placed the same restrictions on Dudley as it would have to have been forced on him. Still, he did have, at the very least, the capacity... Maybe not the will unless he was forced into it. I was also thinking that Dudleys' line of thought may have been a way of whacking Harry "Legally" from time to time with a beaters' bat, and that may have been an incentive.
I woulda thought that Moody gives Dudley a Pigtail and maybe snout instead of Malfoy getting turned into a ferret. Shows more of the dark side of Barry Crouch Junior since Dudley was a muggle born

I really, REALLY hate that your version of Dudley has no character development at all. That defies canon.
The dementor attack on Little Whinging, confronted Dudley with what a horrible little shit he was, and he immediately tried to be a better person. He tried to make amends with Harry, the problem is that he only saw Harry for a total of another week in '97 before his family left, and Harry avoided all the Dursleys as much as he could.
This thought experiment could have turned into Dudley having four years to make up for being a little shit after being attacked by Dementors, and maybe even mending fences with Harry as he sort of clumsily tried in Deathly Hallows but you chose to ignore that aspect of Dudley's arc.
I'm disappointed.

These are awesome adds a twist to the story, but and hear me out… what if the Dursleys weren’t such terrible people? Like what if the Potters and the Dursleys actually had a healthy relationship? Harry and Dudley were actually friends, the Dursleys knew everything about the magical world and the Potters and then James and Lilly were murdered. Now that’s a plot line worth exploring
You just know 5th year is gonna be interesting 🤔👍.

How did Dudley afford an Upgraded Fire bolt broom?
Even if Vernon is getting good money, he wouldn't afford an upgraded version of one of the most expensive broomsticks in the Wizarding world. Especially knowing that the money exchange for muggles is not great.

I don't think Dudley would be at the Quidditch World Cup. Also I bet Dudley would be nicer to Harry after the Dementors 3rd year. Also Dudley wouldn't be so lazy for Quidditch. Remember in real timeline Dudley takes up Boxing and does well in that, Quidditch would be a Magic Sport Equivalent. Also I bet Dudley would admire the Dragons and actually spend time with Hagrid learning more about magical creatures. Dudley after the maze would likely try to join Dumbledore, Snape, and McGonagall in confronting the fake Moody.
