From a married woman to another: Get a Helper! Even just getting SweepSouth lady to come once a week to do cleaning, laundry and ironing(R320/week). 2nd: get a dishwasher - no fighting about who is doing dishes when helper is not there. 3rd: relax and be proper husband and wifing in luxury. This can really take away from the joy in marriage and living together. Get help!

I couldn't agree more. Especially cause Mr Koena is so much like my husband. Been married for 5years and its been hard cause of the silly fights based on domestic chores. But since he said to me "Get help" I've been in a much better place ever since.
So let's get help wherever we can.
My southsweep bill is R252 per week for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom flat including laundry. I'd recommend it too!
Getting a helper saved my marriage 🙆🏽♀️ I used to be upset all the time, grumpy and tired because I’d do chores all weekend especially while the hubby stayed in bed or watched tv.
It seemed like I’m a nagging wife and guys don’t like that. So someone advised me to get a helper and she only came 2 weekends a month to spring clean, do laundry and iron. That assisted us a lot…I was happier and had energy for other things you see 🙈🤣

Getting a helper was best decision for my marriage.🤞🏾
It reduced the need to always ask for assistance, to a point that I felt like I was always nagging and he felt like I’m always complaining🤦🏽♀️
It was a costly decision but the peace it brought was priceless 😊❤️

Couldn’t agree more, a helper and a dishwasher. It brings so much peace that one cannot put a price tag on. When just the two of you, a helper once or twice a week.
I would say when I first got married I hated cooking yooh but I really love cooking now... I cook most days unless I am tired or he offers to cook. And I don't do laundry in my marriage😊. I fold or wash clothes there and there but generally that's not my chore but hubbys. I think it's really nice to work together and help one another with chores. It's important for kids to know too that everyone must help out in the house 🏠 🙏🏾

Partnership is the best, based on the video I think there is some unlearning to do as well from Mr Koena side. Mrs Koena I feel you 100% , it shouldn't even be about the roster but just two of you helping each other. I think all she wants is for you to be considerate you dont need to even wash curtains but just pick the spoon and chop onions with her in the kitchen 🤭

Being domesticated has been my main struggle 😬 my husband is very good with cleaning and cooking but our jobs haven't made the chores issue any easier. However, we agreed to get a helper so that we do not have to worry about that. This is one of the topics that couples struggle with for real because we all had different upbringings that impact our philosophies in this.

This was so real and relevant. I also think as partners we should both keep up our home it's not a one-man show and there are no gender roles. I don't like washing dishes but if you cooked my logic is I have to do the dishes. Also the way we grew up plays such an important role and that is why it is important to communicate your needs and not just expect your partner to miraculously know what you need, when and how it must be done.

Shoooo a very much needed conversation not married yet and I already have a problem with a man that will expect me to do all the house chores whilst he lazes around. It’s difficult bc in our esp in modern couples bc both partners work so if we’re coming back from work together, we are both tired, so whose responsibility is it to make sure there’s dinner, clothes ready for the next day etc.
I really can’t imagine cooking everyday I’m of the belief that when it comes to house chores we’re partners and should be considerate, work together so we can both have leisure time. If one person is constantly on their feet the whole day I feel it gets to a point where one resents their partner & fails to fulfil other needs I.e. Intimacy because they are always tired.
Resentment is sooo real! Speak him into existence because woah, this really makes or sometimes breaks a good thing indeed! Thank you for this❤️

This is a tough conversation and men always get defensive . Unfortunately most boys are raised without expectations of helping around the house. I struggle with it and I get triggered a lot. Especially words like “ I’ll get you a helper “……(takes 3 breaths)
Growing up my dad never lifted a finger and my mom was a house wife. I decided that will never be my life because I want to have a career too. My husband gets this but 9 years since living together, I still have to be grumpy to get a reaction 😭 He does make breakfast though and bathes our daughter--so I guess we making strides but yoh it’s hard.

A helper is the best solution...might cost you a few thousands but it helps, even if the person comes once or twice a week. I work from home so I would have no choice but to clean, and my husband knows how to clean and cook up a storm I know he can lol, because he would clean his parents house while we were still dating. There are no daughters so they grew up doing everything themselves, jiki jiki marriage and he is always tired and can't do dishes 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Chores cause unnecessary fights.
