- In this video we FINALLY find an affordable set of "peanut bulb" 194 style bulbs that are CANBUS compatible and work with the RAM electrical system. We install these on a 2014 RAM 1500 with no issues and no warning or error lights or messages on the dash.
These are very affordable and have resistors built into them so that they don't cause any issues or lights on the dash.

I installed led backup bulbs a few weeks ago that you recommended on another video. Very bright nice lights, I do have some distortion lines that show up now but nothing that makes it hard to see.. thanks for sharing your tips & tricks.. so far I have upgraded the backup lights and projector fog lights you put in the blue 1500, both very nice light output.

Thanks brother! I try to keep it real as possible. Even after I filmed I noticed the video is a bit blurry cause my lens was foggy on the camera. Was debating redoing it but that would seem scripted AF lol

Glad you found the LED's for your license plate. Lasfit is a good brand i have them on my 2017 ram. I put them on my low and high beams i also have them on my fog lights but i have the switch backs on my fog lights. I also recently bought the lasfit 3157 turn signals.

I didn't try them cause i have a aftermarket LED 3rd brake light and tail lights. But the interior leds work good.
Hell yea. Going to order these up right now to try. I have gone through two sets from SuperBrightLED and while they work great at first, after a few months, they will flicker and trigger a message on the cluster display.
Damn those ones aren't cheap that you bought either! Well there are lots of positive reviews on them and they seem to keep the CANBUS system happy on our trucks so far! Let me know how you like them! Can't beat the price either!

Thanks john, cause of you i bought these. Great product! Ive used lasfit for my other cars before... have you used the 9005s for high and low beam projector lights to see if they fit in the housing and if they throw any codes on these trucks
Great vids. The license plate lights are the only ones on my truck that I don't want to upgrade to LED though. I don't want to make it TOOOooooo easy to read my plates at night lol.

I've got a 2013 ram Epress I guess the bulb sizes changed in 2014 I've used the same T10 bulbs on mine and haven't had any messages popup on my dash the only issue are the cheap bulbs I bought to try out,half of the diodes gave out after a couple of months,the ones on my third brake light and backup are bigger but they still work as long as the positive and negative connections are the same they still work . Nice video I've been following along with the ram mods. I have a 2015 bighorn which I've also been trying to swap the license plate bulbs to LED. Have you had any errors since you posted the video yesterday?

Great videos for anyone doing mods to a Ram 1500. Thanks for all your work! I actually just bought these Elite Vision bulbs off Amazon and they work perfectly in my license plate bulbs. However, when they are installed, I get a passenger side brake light out error message. I don’t get any errors for the license plate bulbs. Any idea why I am getting this error? I have obviously checked the brake lights (stock) and they are good. Thanks for any help!
How is your backup camera view at night? I've heard that the really bright LED lights cause an annoying glare at night, simply because they are so bright. Do you have issues with that?

The reason LEDs don't get hot is that they draw less power. LEDs that use resistors to ensure the canbus sees the correct amount of power is drawn will get just as hot as a halogen, because its drawing just as much power as a halogen. That's why personally I don't see a huge reason to replace halogen with LEDs that have to use huge resistors to increase their power draw, as that kind of defeats a lot of the point of LEDs being more efficient. Some LEDs don't need much or any resistance added by just putting really powerful LED chips in place, but that isn't going to be possible on a microbulb. IMO stick with halogen for that.
i was able to use the same leds from your other video about the leds for the dome lights. drive a '13 ram 1500.

Ah damn! It took me awhile to find a good quality set that work with the CANBUS system and were not overpriced. I think these should work out and they had really good reviews too!
Make a video about how to fix dings on door, i just fueled up, and hit a gas station “safety post” while opening door by accident. It does not show that much, but i know it’s there :D
Ah sorry to hear about the dent! Den't are a bit tough to remove without having super expensive tools and getting in behind the panel to push it out. I've seen the paintless dent guys work their magic before and it truly is an art. I would give a paintless dent removal shop a call, that would honestly be your best bet!
ahh, the dent is a size of a nail of a finger, il just trying to keep it off my mind, but my ocd fights back :) but will see, il try to look in further upgrades!

I didn’t have the dash problem with mine because mine is a 2011 ram. but the two sets of leds I’ve tried in the license plate, flicker all the time. Wondering if these will fix my flickering problem?
Toss these ones in Brian and they should work for you. Nice thing is if they don't work you can always return them for free on Amazon lol

I bought these after watching this video and only 1 side works. I tried the good light in both sides and it works then tried the bad light and it worked for 10 seconds and now wont come on. I also tried both directions and it wont work. Sux

Yeah same type of bulb but these ones are really sensitive and need the built in resistors.
Do they affect your reverse camera in retrospect to glare?

Diode Dynamics HP3 bulbs wouldn’t fit in the harness for license plate or cargo lights. Were too big. Sometimes going more expensive doesn’t pay off.

Check on amazon Lasfit LED bulbs, they have many bulbs they will work. Lasfit has bulbs from headlights, fog lights, and interior

I can’t use amazon they keep cancelling my orders every time I place one so I just don’t buy from them anymore. I would of bought an extra spare just in case since you got these working from what I can see. But I have to find them on eBay first.

Update:::: got these to fit was just a little tight fit but got them in.... the brightness is awesome on them. I wonder if these would work in the map lights due to it being a 194 T-10

Hey man, I got a 2015 Ram 1500 with Ram Boxes, I'm having some lighting issues with them and I'm hoping you can help me sort it out!
Each box has 2 lights each, so 4 lights total. If I swap all 4 lights to LEDs from fluorescent, they stay dim unless I press unlock on my truck or open a door. If in one box, I leave one fluorescent bulb in, the LED lights full brightness if thats the box I have open. If I open the box with only LEDs, they stay dim until the other box is open as well.
I've tried a "canbus free" style bulb and still had the same issues. Do you think this bulb should solve the issue?
Hmm that is weird for sure Chris. I haven't had a truck with the RAM boxes but sounds like a controller issue. If you are looking for a cheap fix I would just run a relay from the battery that triggers off the factory switch so you get full power
BoostedMotorsports do you think running a resistor to atleast one light would let me swap out that fluorescent, and then a second resistor in the second box so they both work?
Idk how resistors work but if one fluorescent is turning them on, a LED with a resistor sounds like it'd give the same effect

I added these to the truck and although they do work, I think they are way too bight. They protrude a weird reflection over the truck bed that it just looks weird. I wish youtube allowed for pictures in the comments. See link:

Yeah they are definitely bright Mike I agree. You could always try to block some of the chips on the bulb from omitting light if you want to experiment. I had a hard time finding bulbs that were this cheap and didn't throw that damn error!

Hey Boosted. I did the electrical tape rig to cover some of the lights but it was not coming up thru the plastic cover evenly. I ended up getting these from Diode Dynamics for $8 bucks a pair and they are perfect. No weird light shadows displayed on the tail gate and just the right amount of light for the license plate.
