    Some Company needs to Comp you a skid loader with Attachments for there advertising purposes. I know that if it works out for you and your demands I might add one too my fleet. I have a JCB offset extension boom unit. I have several loaders in my business. But I’m older now and just love the door on the side that can be used an time any position.
    Great fun watching your videos 👍👍

    I think if you had a new fancy backhoe, I’d be less interested. There’s something about watching old iron working hard that’s intriguing. You’ve easily gotten $5,000 worth of dirt moved and trees cleaned up. These videos will never get old.

    Cap’n the triple nickel seems to be pretty happy with her new round front tire! And, replacing the broken steering arm with old iron seemed to please the 755. All in all the double nickel sisters appear to be happy again!
    I experienced another first this morning… I don’t ever recall you ever knocking me over and finding myself looking up at the tripod. It’s almost as if my eyeballs had been knocked out and the rest of me was still standing! Weird? But, I liked the feeling!

    Mike you should do the repairs to the frame on the 555 so you can reinstall the counter weight because most of the time you are not steering because the front tires aren't on the ground

    Yes, the 755 is a good machine. I have a 855 that I have had for over 18 years. I added a Kubota L48 to the fleet, a couple of years ago with the idea being to sell the 855, but my wife and I could not part with it. It is a handy tractor, with its own backhoe, belly mower and a 5' box scraper and 5' brush hog. We love the light foot print and the maneuverability. So much of what you are doing seems that I am watching myself, only 20 years ago or so. You have fun, which is important. Keep on keeping on!

    One thing about maximizing the distance for moving a pile of dirt with a backhoe is to position yourself at an oblique angle to the pile you want to move so that you take advantage of the maximum swing of the boom. So if you want to move a pile to the left, position the backhoe just off-center to the left and then grab your bucket full's with the boom having to swing off to the right to get it, then swing it the maximum off to the left to dump it. If you back straight into the pile you want to move, you can only swing it 90 degrees. Looks like you're figuring that out though.

    • @Crewsy
      @Crewsy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I think he knows that especially since he actually said “swing it 180*” but the conditions (mud) prevented him from positioning himself in the optimal position.

    Hi Captain,
    A handy tip, you are driving the 555 around with the hoe stuck out the back, this takes all the weight off the front wheels making it difficult to steer. Because the hoe is over balancing the weight to the rear. So move/slew the hoe all the way to either side and the machine will be better balanced when driving.
    Also tip the front bucket fully over so that the sharp edges of the bucket dig into the ground when lifting the front up, you will get a better stability of the 555 when using the hoe.
    Thanks Keith

    • @CaptainKleeman
      @CaptainKleeman  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Swinging it to one side or the other does in fact not make a more balanced ride lol. Especially when utilizing brake steer as much as I do. 👍

    Where I live it's just the opposite. Most of the small town I live in is a gravel bank. My lawn doesn't hold water as long as it takes to rain on it. You're doing a good job. That 555 is paying for it's self.

    Mike, I mentioned to you a couple of videos back on the 555 about an electric over hydraulic option for cylinder operation of the thumb. I did some research and there's a company: Orion Motor Tech that has a unit on sale for $252.99 (SKU: HPD-15LS-BK) it is capable of 10,000 pounds of pressure. I talked to their tech service people about the unit and would it handle a thumb on a backhoe. The one I spec'd out is for a double acting cylinder and it would do the job. All you have to do is get you hands on a cylinder with enough throw to fully close and open the thumb, so it's out of the way of digging. I'll bet you could pick up a cylinder at the salvage yard that Mike & Aaron went to for some repair parts a while back. I don't recall the name. I'm guessing you could make the thumb hydraulic for about $500 and some change. It's an easy Google to find the unit I looked at. On my Case 480, the unit would sit nicely on the finder shelf inside the cab. Lee
