I have a Navigator and I enjoy seeing all the things you've done with yours. The floor was rough on my knees, so I put puzzle piece mats down, and the mats seem to reduce items being shifted during transport.

Kevin Robinson ---- For your bed go to the 99 cent store and they sell this stuff by the roll it's for putting under your dishes and glasses in cabinets or for under rugs put that under your matts and they won't slip around. Good luck and Happy camping !!! 😊

Hats off to ya brother for mentioning the changing of the guards and flight 93. We also took the trip with our then 11 yr old daughter....flight 93 Memorial definitely pulls at the heart strings but also makes ya feel honored that common Americans made some uncommon choices that day that saved many lives.

Pick up a Mainstays (brand) Non-skid Rug Pad at Walmart. It's light weight easy to fold or roll up and will keep your bed in place. You can also cut it down and line your shelves or gear boxes with it to keep things from sliding around.

Very nice camping set up ! WE used a Weed sprayer (a new one) for our shower with a round dish pan to stand in for the water catchment. Works great. Then we got a bucket and put an elderly potty chair (got that for $4 at an estate sale) over it. Inside the bucket we use bags and kitty litter (if you want to be eco friendly use the cedar chips and coco peatmoss), and discard when we are done camping. It works great - no smell. WE also got the large pantagonal screened in canopy. This is really nice. I would love to add the Runnaway Camper to replace our truck tent.

Hey Kevin, I really enjoyed this video. It was nice to see the way you've got things set up. I really liked your shower station and toilet I thought it was a great idea. I'll have to get me one of those. I appreciate that you talked about the moisture in the camper because we don't necessarily think of that when we're Gung ho to start rolling down the highway, and that's something one should be prepared to deal with. One other thing I thought I'd mention. As long as it works for you and your wife. And you two are content with it. Just enjoy yourselves. Please keep the videos coming. Thanks

I would put that kinda carpety - fuzzy stuff on the walls - it insulates and also absorbes the condensation. Maybe those lightweight plastic drawers? They make long ones that are not too wide that could fit - Walmart has them. Thank you for sharing this was neat - I want to build one out too.

I throw some of the silicon kitty litter in an old sock (no holes of course) and it helps keep condensation off of my windshield at night... it gets quite humid here at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Back in the 60's, my family drove out to Colorado and California. One time we had a 58 VW bus which my father converted to sleep 2 adults and 3 kids. We also had a 9x9 tent. I liked the tent better. Later, we got a truck body trailer for hauling the tent (15 x15 now) and pulled that with a 63 Nova. It was my job to put the tent up. Got it down to 15 minutes including the center pole. Anyway, I was wondering if you couldn't build a false floor in the camper to make extra pocket holes to hide more storage space. Shouldn't be too hard to do if you're only sleeping on the floor. Good Luck.

I'd toss a cheap rug with a rubber bottom (commonly sold for kitchens or garage entryways) under the cushions, even if it's just where it separates. The rubber backing should stop the slip and low-pile carpet shouldn't allow the cushions to slip.

I initially looked into getting one of these I just don't know if I could handle having to crawl into it all the time. I would definitely go for the larger one. Wouldn't a 3/4 mattress fit in there? It's bigger than a twin but but not as wide as a full size mattress. They still sell them.

Kevin, have you looked into inverting your suspension on your camper to give you more ground clearance? It's also make towing a little easier too.

Can you lock the door from the outside? I've seen it locked from the inside, but am wondering if you can lock it up when you need to leave your base camp.

    • @Robinson-Homestead
