I'd like to see Fairies, Pixies and Unicorns in the wild. So many people seem to say they exist.

Wow. Stunning footage. The colours are intense. That limestone cave was equal parts beautiful and spooky. And the boab trees have their gnarled charm, much like some people.

Thank you! I thought the same thing. You look one way and you’re amazing, then the other and you don’t want to go further.
I love that, so very true!

Another great episode today!! Yay! Even when you were using video you framed some really nice shots there around the free camp site! I loved the cave. I used to do a lot of caving when I was younger. Australia has some great caves. I like it that you are always on the look out for wildlife and especially the bird life! Do you guys use a GPS when you go off walking, or are the tracks fair well worn? The one's you've shown seem very well worn. I many areas I'e been, if you left you vehicle and walked 50m you wouldn't be able to see it and if you were turning around and either hunting or walking far, You'd get lost so easily. I also learnt from my time in mining that it is ALWAYS a good idea to have a orange flashing light on the very top of your vehicle that you can remotely turn on when traveling on dusty roads. The orange light is more easily seen through the dust than red or blue lights. You'll see all mining vehicle have them, Tell Matt he can get a magnetic one at Bunnings or SuperCheap/Repco for about $35. Very invaluable when near other traffic.
I loved this episode. I hope you are having a great holiday. Your videography is great, keep ups the good work! Stay Safe!

How cool is that! I’d love to do some more caving around here.
No we don’t go too far off the worn path because we don’t have a GPS or I use my offline maps to mark where we came from kind of like bread crumbs.
I was telling Matt about it and he said there are heavy fines that can come from having the light outside a mining area (he worked in the mines in QLD). But might be handy in the off road areas with lots of dust.
Thank you as always for your kind words! I really really do appreciate it:) have a great evening!

@@MyWorldExperience I've working in the mines and I've never heard that. Plus, As an ex police man I can tell you NO ONE is going to fine you for being safe on those roads and the Mining people don't have the power to do anything about it. Only the police have the authority to pull you over. That's why they are given the red and blue lights. It's better to see a car than to hit it! Be safe. And if you do get a fine send it to me and I'll pay it! It'll never happen.

Wonderful video and epic scenery. Really looks as though you're having fun. It seems you have also found a great travelling companion in Matt. He appears to becoming a little less camera shy. Tell him he comes across great on camera.
And yes, I'm a fan of boab trees. I've seen some great ones here in Queensland.
    Safe travels.

Thank you, Gary! I think I have too, its not often you find people that work really well as travel buddies so I lucked out. I didn't see any in Queensland but I might not have been looking in the right places.

AHJHH> There's smiley. You had fun. That tunnel creek has resident crocs in here you know LOL. we encountered a large king brown at the entrance. Had to wait for him to move. A Black murderer was lain up in those side caves after he was wounded during a shootout with police. Did you see the bower birds and their bowers in Wanjina gorge? The trees at the entrance were covered in Corellas when I visited.

    • @MyWorldExperience
      @MyWorldExperience  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah! We saw just a little one in the water but just his eyes. Didn’t see any snakes while there though. Saw heaps of nesting birds and I loved it when they would all fly out together fighting. Such beautiful country!

The northern Boab tree is actually a Baobab tree - Adansonia gregorii.
Locally in the far NW and North of Australia it's called the Upside Down tree by the indigenous peoples. This is because the branches look like roots.
In the dream time the spirits came and pulled the tree up in anger and so flipped it over to bury it and that's why you see the bottom roots of the tree as branches today.
But that's not the most fascinating thing about the Boab. The thing is that the boab tree was probably brought to NW Australia from Madagascar by black Africans.
This is why there is cave paintings (Gwion Gwion - Bradshaw Paintings) of the Wandjina which the locals disown and say they have nothing to do with them. The aborigines say they didn't paint them. They are millennia old.
The giant boab nut is full of Vitamin C and protein. It's got a hard water proof shell that's great for transport.
Really good for keeping away scurvy on long sea voyages. And the boab only grows in Madagascar.
So if you think about it, it's all rather strange. Cave paintings that depict head dresses not worn by aborigines and a tree that only grows in Madagascar - And now NW Australia.
And then there's the sea currents and trade winds which push from the east coast of Africa to the west coast of Australia. Hmm....
Some people have spent their life trying to find the connection but it's obvious. Black Africans were visiting Australia between 3800 and 41000 years ago.

I’ve never heard that before. I find the Spirit stories very fascinating. This morning I was on the phone to my mom talking about it actually and how amazed we are at how in touch Aboriginals are with the country. I love it!
I didn’t get to see those panting but I would have really loved to. How interesting!
