Hi guys good idea letting the other half drive it might come in handy one day, i let my mrs tow our caravan when we go away you never know when she might have to do it down the track safe travels
Your comparison between this region and other countries is cool. One sealed road through Germany? We as Germans cannot imagine it yet, we have to see it by ourselves ... soon!. The Gibb is on the top of our list once we got our Zone. Can't wait! Thanks for your great episodes. Amazing stuff.
We stayed at Elenbrae after staking a tyre crossing the Durack. Drysdale owners son and a jackaroo were hanging shit on my efforts at repairing the tyre and drinking my beer whilst doing it. Asked them to stop drinking my beer or stop hanging shit, so they changed the tyre for me. Friendly guys great night, beautiful area.. Memories.
Love these ones where I know I probably wont get to, although my old Falcon would do some of that road where you were. Of course we didnt see the bits it wouldnt lol. See you next Sunday! 😍
Bringing back some lovely memories of the Gibb…… Thanks, great vid again ! Ps, the little tips like maxtrax for levelling the car etc are really handy for newbies ( old newbies 😂😂😂)
Good question! It really depends on what you're cooking (and for how long) but max is about 80a/hr draw. The average 30min meal will use about 30-40 amps
How good is the Kimberley eh? Just awesome and we will be back! Had to use 4wd into Ellenbrae due to being one of the first people into there as the road was washed away.
Another cracking episode. Well done. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your travels down the Gibb. We’re waiting on a new caravan and keen to set off from the ACT in about 12 months. You’re helping us write our itinerary. Keep up the good work!
@@ducfatsvideos.6293 We have a Crusader Musketeer Treville on order due in a few weeks with a number of upgrades to suit it to going off grid. Starting to get just a little excited.
Thanks for the feedback, Kerry. It can vary between devices but turning up the brightness on your device might help. We'll keep an eye on it from our end 👍
One down, Gibb me the rest lol it’s a Gibb Pioneer Sunday Binge for me lol. I’ll be doing it quicker than you did 😜😜. “It’s Hot everywhere “ that’ll be ya catch phrase 👍Did ya see a wild Croc 🐊 ! Wee will see in 3 lol 😂
Liking your vids guys. How do you secure the swags on the racks so they don’t get stolen when you’re away from the vehicle? Any chance of showing that on a vid please?
Thanks! They're just strapped down with ratchet straps. Nothing stopping anyone from taking them but we haven't had an problems in 12months of travel 👍
Thanks mate. We find keeping the blinds closed helps keep the van cooler when travelling in hot climates and protects the interior from any sun damage.
We used to have an MDC camper funnily enough. We didn't look closely at their caravans, mainly because of how heavy they are and we preferred to have an Aussie made caravan. Zone is in a completely different league to MDC when it comes to build quality.
Always love your videos, great content and down-to-earth ordinary Australians. :) How did you find it on the Gibb so late in the season (less crowds is a BIG plus!), was there much you couldn't (or wasn't worth) seeing due to the time of year? Trying to plan our own trip, and just not sure we can fit in the entire top of Australia in a single dry season. What month/s were you in the NT top end? As always, thanks for vids and the great content. It has certainly inspired me!! :)
Thanks! It's a big trip to do the whole north in one season! We really enjoyed our trip and although there were a few places we didn't get to see, we enjoyed sharing the ones we did with less people. We'd defintely do it out of season (either early or late) again next time.
Hey Simon and Liz, quick question, what recovery gear do you guys have on board/ recommend? We only have a pair of Maxtrax and a shovel so far. Ta, Peter and Cait
Hi Peter. Just the basics really. 2 Maxtrax, shovel, recovery strap and a few shackles. We're looking at getting another set or 2 of Maxtrax though. That's all you really need unless you're going to have a winch with you.
Liz you can say you drove on the Gibb, amazing!!!!!! 😀😀😀😀. Another beautiful episode, thanks.
Yes! Thank you!

Thanks Bevan, appreciate your feedback, mostly 😂🍻
Great content once again, we enjoy the natural layed back style and your pork jokes gave us a chuckle.
Cheers.
Glad to hear it. The whole pork thing was completely unplanned, that's acutally how my mind works 😂
The GIBB! Done it, forgot to buy the tshirt, have to come back 😍
😂 Absolutely! Good to see you back in the comments, Rik 👊
Hi we love your videos particularly Litchford, we were these in August last year. Hope fully we get back there soon and then head west.
Glad you like them!

Amazing. Have fun!
Your not alone mate. Any rattle is annoying. Pulled dashboard out before to find a rattle and fix it.
Another great video and informative as usual.
😂 Thanks guys 👍
Love your vids, what a great country we live in.
Cheers, David. Agreed!
Simply Awesome
👍👍👍👍
Cheers, Trevor!
Liz you are a good match for Simon. Keep it going. Love the humour. Hasn't Aussie got so much to offer!!
Thanks Graham! We're loving it
Thanks for tip of putting the pork crackling in the microwave to get that extra crackle. A 'cracking' idea🤣🤣🤣
😂 Any time!
I agree …. Any rattles drive me nuts.
The amount of times we've had to stop and pull the car apart 😂

You never know, we did see some backpackers in a Mazda 3!

Cool, thanks Guy. Appreciate your support mate.
Great video guys. Cracking me up with the slip of the tongues 🤣
How much power does the Thermo draw? Especially cooking a pulled pork wow?

Yeah mate, absolutely. That would've been an interesting intro to Ellenbrae!
Great ep. Keen to know if you got your rattle sorted. They drive me crazy as well.
Cheers Damien, this one seemed to sort itself out eventually. We're guessing something we couldn't see (probably dust) in the window track

What van have you ordered?
Thanks Peter, really appreciate the feedback and glad to hear it's useful.

hi love your videos and the content is really helpful. They are very dark, just wondering if you suggest a particular setting to lighten it up.

Great video guys. Just a quick question. I noticed you have your blockout blinds down as you travel is there a reason for that? Thanks guys
Thanks mate. We find keeping the blinds closed helps keep the van cooler when travelling in hot climates and protects the interior from any sun damage.
@@TheLifestylePioneers yeah sweet mate thanks. Keep up the good work vids are great.
Hate the rattles drives me nuts as well
Totally! 👊
Good content. Did you research MDC caravans and if so why did you not pick them. Thanks, looking at MDC in the USA

Thanks for the info. I only have MDC and Black Series to choose from but my pickup won't pull the Black Series but it will pull the MDC 16HR
sounds like something in the door pillar , not may be the right back door window
No sure, John. It seemed to sort itself out after a few more thousand corrugations 😂

@@TheLifestylePioneers , great, thanks. We see that Aldi have straps and shackles in their latest catalogue; we may try to get some.
Do you have a tyre pressure monitoring system to alert you of a problem before it gets critical?
Only on the Ranger, not on the caravan. It would be handy though
you have something hanging in front of the caravan wheels
Do you mean the Stone Stomper? This is there to prevent stone impact on the front of the caravan.
Maybe crocodiles are extremely nervous of Liz
They should be!
Check your snorkel isn’t rattling loose.
Good tip! This one was more around the B pillar though. It went away after a while so it may have been something in the window track we couldn't see
If it’s rattling, it’s loose and it shouldn’t be. My wife thinks I’m the rattle police.
Absolutely! We never found the source of this one, it just went away and hasn't come back since
