I think I'm the only African American person that I know who wears sunscreen. A lot of people I know don't use any facial products, so they don't invest in skincare because they don't feel they need to from what I see. They have beautiful skin. I struggle with skin issues, so I have sunscreen products.
@@aprilt.3868 I remember wanting my mother's skin tone when I was growing up. She's very dark, 70, and barely a wrinkle. 😒 I do wear my sunscreen, though. If I learned nothing else from Essence back in the day, I learned that when we get diagnosed with skin cancer, we're usually in Stage 4. Scared me straight!
I got the light shade a few weeks ago, I'm a Fitzpatrick 2 and its the perfect shade for me. I'm glad more affordable drugstore brands are coming out with several shades.
How does one learn what shade/skin type they are? I know it goes from light to dark. I’m pretty light and most tints look orange. Most of the time I have to get a light and a medium and mix them in my palm. Time consuming and expensive.
I actually just got the Deep and I was actually pleasantly surprised. They have have a neutral undertone if they were a little bit warmer they would be perfect but at least I don't look like a ghost I give it and 8.5-out of 10.
Australian gold 50+ tinted has been great so far for me as a mineral sunscreen. For having oily skin and has enough matte finish that after setting powder it’s been great even under a mask! No cast. Great budget sunscreen for daily use so far 👍👍👍👍
Careful with the sunscreen spf claim. There is a very small percent of 4% Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide each in it. I know the hype it has but dare not use it because of this.
My 65 year old skin is slightly getting drier with age. I love the Australian Gold Fair to Light shade SPF 50. It does have a matte finish and can show some lines on my skin. Then I tried the Elta MD Elements, SPF 44. It was a bit orange and definitely more expensive. It was more moisturizing though. So I mixed the 2 evenly in a jar with a top. It is all I use now. No more foundation for me. It gives me enough lightweight coverage. Not too dewy or matte. And I like the higher SPF, since I’m outdoors quite a bit.😊
Speaking from someone who has dry, sensitive skin, Neutrogena products are underrated. Their bullet lipsticks were my favorite and it was disappointing when they discontinued them.
When I wear this over my moisturizer with a primer it lasts all day and gives pretty good coverage. I like it mostly because it does not sweat off or sting my eyes. It doesn't sit in my lines either. It's a winner for me.
I'm excited to check these sunscreens out. The Neutrogena healthy skin foundation is actually one of the best at the drugstore. I tried it on Emily Noel's suggestion and she was completely right. It leaves your skin with such a flawless but natural finish.
OMG I am very excited to try this, Dr. Dray! Thank you for showing the shades on your skin. I'm Fitzpatrick 1 w/ rosacea & sensitive skin.Currently use Elta MD UV Pure all over face, neck, ears etc and then use a pea-size dot of Australian Gold Botanical 50 Tinted Fair just to my face to add a bit of color - but it's still too orange and not cosmetically elegant. I think the fairest Neutrogena one will be PERFECT for me. Am ordering today. Wanted to thank you too for mentioning the Peach Slices Redness Relief line. I use their SA cleanser in morning and got their Redness Relief soothing cleanser to try in eve as second step in double cleanse. Cleanser smells like mud and Calming Cream is consistency of pudding, but wow my skin has felt SO soft and nice after using for only a couple of days. And luckily I like both mud and pudding! 🙂 Hugs and keep up the great work!!!
I do like Neutogena skin care and make up! Dr. Dray, I need to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I found you a year ago and implemented everything you said. My skin is so much better than it ever has been. I had grown up in Phoenix during the 1980s and I was very tan but moved away and stopped being tan at age 22 thank goodness. I’m loving the medium deep so far! Blended into my skin so easy and the color is a perfect match. Yesterday I also tried the Trader Joe’s daily facial sunscreen you recommended in another video, and OMG I LOVE THAT ONE TOO! My face was so soft and silky all day and it didn’t melt off during running and other workouts I did. I bought this in light last week. Loved it. Normally these types of products are too dark for me even in the lightest shade, but this matched and blended beautifully. It stayed dewy and wore great for hours.
Have you tried the Cerave tinted sunscreen? I’m curious how it compares to that. It’s way too orange on me, and too dewy for my combination/oily skin. I’m very intrigued by this Neutrogena option.
@@makeuphound89 I love the Cerave tinted sunscreen but it's too dark for me as well. I wish it came in a lighter shade. I'd be interested in a comparison with the Neutrogena shades too.

Just a reminder for everyone to really check the price per ounce on their sunscreens. This is not super cheap compared to some other brands that sell larger bottles. For example, elta MD UV physical is actually quite affordable per ounce because the bottle is larger. But I'm going to try this one because it's hard to find a good looking tinted mineral sunscreen that is water resistant to 80 minutes.
This is good news! Neutrogena is my favorite sunscreen. I used to be more lax with using it and my derm had to zap a few pre cancer spots every check up. Once I started using Neutrogena and wearing my hat he rarely finds any problem areas. I am 70 and love gardening and hiking the desert.
I mix the Australian Gold light (a bit drying and matte) along with the Elta MD Elements(which is to orange for my pale skin). The two mixed is perfect color and coverage. And the finish is perfect.
Dr D, you mentioned pilling in this video...could you expand on the reasons different products pill together and the chemical reasons for pilling and examples in a future video?
I just picked it up in medium deep and the color match was lovely! It’s very hydrating so I used a tiny bit of the hydro boost fragrance free moisturizer under it. It blended well together and I wasn’t left greasy.
I'll stick with my Aldi Ombra SPF 50+ tinted moisturisers, both the tinted and light tint versions. AU$3.99 for 60mls. Fragrance free, paraben free and oil free. Non-stinging for me. I haven't had much luck with Neutrogena sunscreens in the past, but would try this (on Dr Dray's recomendation) if I ever needed another sunscreen in my SPF repertoire. Hopefully there will be sample sachets available to "try before you buy"...especially as there are tint shade options. I've just checked and this range doesn't seem to be available in Australian stores yet anyway. For those with blonde hair, we have to be careful applying pigmented products around our hairline, as everyhthing shows up! We don't have the Neutrogena cosmetic line in stores here. Just as well, as I don't need to buy any more 🤑 I am still a big fan of Neutrogena skincare though. 👱♀️❤
I appreciate these very much. Question why they don't offer higher 50spf. Cerve tinted also only comes in 30spf in tinted formula aswell. Is it really hard for them to get white cast off higher spf's?
Love this sunscreen. I have very fair skin and the light is perfect for me. It spreads beautifully and blends perfectly. I found the tube leaks very easily and is wasteful. I emptied the tube out in to a clean jar and I don't have a problem with it leaking any longer. Just a thought! My skin never looked better. Thanks to you, Dr Dray.
I use this on top of the Gold Bond Pure Moisturizer. Also use Gold Bond Retinol at night. Love this combo. Putting the Neutrogena Tinted Sunscreen on top of the Gold Bond Pure spreads evenly with no pilling.
I am absolutely loving this tinted sunscreen It's great. I used the medium all over my face and then I use the deepest one as a contour cream. It works perfectly seamless blending
I would pay attention to the pigment difference between your face and your neck. I think the light shade fits you perfectly! I, too, like to think I'm tanner than I am. You are beautiful and should choose a tint that suits your skintone, or put some bronzer on your neck so the contrast isn't so pronounced. I've noticed this is consistent in most of your tinted sunscreen videos (perhaps the lighting has something to do with it?). Anyway, keep being awesome - your content is amazing!
The only tinted sunscreen I've ever gotten along with is Sun Bum Mineral SPF 30 Tinted Sunscreen Face Lotion because it works for my skin tone and leaves a matte finish on my oily skin. Has a nice primer effect too. However, it leaves a slightly sulfuric odor on the skin lol. So I'll be sure to try this one. Thanks for the heads up!
I go back and forth between the tinted sun bum and the ELTA MD physical tinted spf 41. Depends on my bank account because they are very different prices
Thanks for sharing! I’m excited to give this a try. I wear a tinted mineral sunscreen daily. I would LOVE to find a great product that I can easily pick up at the drugstore.
Thanks Dr. Dray! I am literally looking for exactly what you’re talking about. Something that’s not too overpriced, tinted but doesn’t have to look like foundation, gives that glow , could be good for sensitive skin and it’s on amazon. I have been watching your favorite sunscreen videos, and other dermatologists on the platform and so far for the price , all the boxes it checks and the availability of it makes this the one I’m going to get. I’ve been on the hunt the last couple weeks and doing some research for my crazy skin, which has changed so much in the last few yrs…I guess that’s part of being in my early 40s lol 😂 I’m so happy this showed up on my feed and again thank you. I’ll use your link ❤️
Wow! The lightest actually looks light enough! I'm Fitzpatrick 1 during winter and 2 during mid summer, the pale peachy shade looks perfect. After I run out of my current sunscreen, I'll give this a try.
Dr. Dray, you were so right! I have an olive skin tone that tans deeper in the summer, and the Medium Deep is fantastic. I just have to be diligent about rubbing it in so I don't have skip areas, as you mentioned, but once I do that, the colour is perfect and actually evens out my skin tone. In fact, I now just wear this sunscreen and a little liquid highlight, and that's it! That's my makeup done nowadays, no foundation needed
I ordered this without seeing this video. I am looking forward to trying it. I am very pale and not a makeup wearer. So I am trying the light shade. I looked at this as a tentative step towards purchasing as tinted moisture or BB cream.
I really want to try this. It’s 20 bucks at my Walgreens which I find kind of expensive for 1 oz. Even the Paula’s choice one 37 dollars but you get 2 full oz for that price. However, I’m glad brands are finally coming out with a range of shades for tinted mineral sunscreen! It’s about time!
I’m excited about these. But again I’m going to complain about the size. If you use the correct amount, 1/2 tsp for your face and neck, 32 ml will not even last you 2 weeks. Please make bigger bottles!
I've been using the Hydro Boost Water Cream and Water Gel with good results. I also like the Hydro Boost Body Lotion. All these products are comfortable to wear and live up to the promise of keeping your skin moisturized for 2 or more days. I branched out and tried the Hydro Boost Lip Gloss, and I really like that the color is pretty and the formula moisturizes my lips, something my high-end products do not accomplish as well. I'm going to go a step further and try the Pure Screen for daily wear. I'm wondering how well the other cosmetics perform because I feel ready to abandon high-priced cosmetics.
Hi Dr Dray! Thank you for the video. I know you have an older video about this, but can you do an update on tinted sunscreens please? I think it could be helpful since more brands have come out with tinted sunscreens
I’m going to try this and make a tiktok on it! As a person who considers themselves medium deep, I might try both medium deep and deep for comparison purposes
Thank you! I am pale as heck (nc10 in mac foundation majority of the year). Loved seeing you try on multiple shades! I took a chance on the medium shade and I am able to rub this in without any streaks and no hideous orange residue! The medium is probably close to an nc20 shade of Mac foundation giving me a lovely tint that won't be clickable in summer!
I've been looking for an alternative to the Neutrogena Clear Face oil-free spf 30, which I usually use because it invariably gets into my large deep set eyes, and stings terribly. Maybe this will work for me. 😊
I'm totally buying this to try it Medium looks perfect on you. Light looks like it might actually be ideal light for me. I am so picky and don't like looking orange or too dark. And of course being cool toned it's so hard for me to not look orange. BUT I'm loving the tone on you with medium/deep. It's so pretty Deep, you could almost use that as a cream bronzer. It looks so natural as you said!! I'm just so excited
Love this sunscreen! I bought the Light shade and it works for me. The only other tinted mineral sunscreen I would suggest is Exuviance SPF 50. It is oil- free, but only one shade. I've tried many tinted mineral sunscreens, but these work best for me.
Thank you for this video, Dr Dray! Any one knows if this is available in the UK? I've been looking on Amazon and searching the Web all morning, but I haven't found much sadly. Thanks! 😊

This sunscreen looks pretty interesting for me. I hope it can come out in Canada sometime soon, it might be a nice one to avoid eye sting without getting raccoon eyes 😆
I've discovered that a problem with tinted sunscreens is if you put them on your neck, they get all over your clothes. If you skip your neck, your neck is white than your face.
I often will put a chemical sunscreen on my neck first, and then gently blend the tinted stuff down a bit on my upper neck so that it doesn't look weird. I've also used untinted mineral first and then blended down the same way. You could also just use a powder bronzer (so my skin is too dry for that and my skin would look ancient).
I like Supergoop glow screen, I’ve gotten so many compliments on how my skin looks glowy. It’s a 30 or 40 spf. I put it over my hydro boost moisturizer with 50 spf.
Which color would be the equivalent of the cerave one? Cerave's tinted sunscreen is too dark and orange on me, so I'm afraid I'll pick the wrong color here if I go with medium. But if medium is like cerave then I know to go light. A color comparison would be helpful. Thankyou!

I think Light looks the best for you but Medium looks good for summer.:) I would love to try it! Thank you, Dr Dray.
I appreciate these very much. Question why they don't offer higher 50spf. Cerve tinted also only comes in 30spf in tinted formula aswell. Is it really hard for them to get white cast off higher spf's?
I think it is more difficult to formulate to offer different shades at higher spf
I am absolutely loving this tinted sunscreen
It's great. I used the medium all over my face and then I use the deepest one as a contour cream. It works perfectly seamless blending
I'm excited to try these. Neutrogena had a tinted moisturizer with SPF in the late 1980s that I used to like a lot.
Me too, I was devastated when they stopped making it
Thank you Dr Dray ! Just ordered medium deep. Hope to end my search for tinted sunscreens!! 🤞🏽🙏🏽
let me know how it works out for you
Its a beautiful mineral spf, it feels like the color science! I love it! I got the light one and is perfect!
OMG!!! Yess!! I hope they are available in my local drugstores so I can put my hand on the light one. 🤞🤞🤞
So far thst is my favorite too, and I like that it's cruelty free
Oh my gah so excited!!! I'm ordering the light shade now 😁
I’m excited to try this product. Thank you for showing us the different shades on your skin. Now I know which shade to get.
I’ve used Australian Gold for years! Going to try this one. Thanks Dr Dray!
Just ordered the light shade via your amazon link - thank you, darling! 🤍
Walgreens is more costly..
I’m excited about these. But again I’m going to complain about the size. If you use the correct amount, 1/2 tsp for your face and neck, 32 ml will not even last you 2 weeks. Please make bigger bottles!
Thanks! Can't wait to try these! I love that their are options for shades!!
I always liked Neutrogena. They do pretty good hair stuff for mix hair
Now I'm excited to try this one in the lightest shade, and I agree that Neutrogena does fabulous job on their makeup shades. 👍
I’ve been keeping my eye open for these. Can’t wait to try them!
Can't wait til these come to Canada!
Girl your hair looks voluminous!!! 😍
I LOVE NEUTROGENA! This made my day! 😄 I am so excited to try this!
Hi Dr Dray! Thank you for the video. I know you have an older video about this, but can you do an update on tinted sunscreens please? I think it could be helpful since more brands have come out with tinted sunscreens
Very interesting!!
Can’t wait to try this
Love that it’s more accessible to a in store visit
Man i used to not be obsessed with sunscreen now I'm obsessed with sunscreen especially what new at the drug store
If you try it, let me know what you think
Beware! Dr Dray will get you hooked. That’s why I have 12 sunscreens on my vanity!
@@janetm6701 oh i have few sunscreen i never had a mineral sunscreen because i have a deeper skin color so maybe later on ill buy this
The lightest color looked like it was the best match for your neck.
Looking forward to trying this. Thanks for testing it.
I’m going to try this and make a tiktok on it! As a person who considers themselves medium deep, I might try both medium deep and deep for comparison purposes
I have been looking for a tinted moisturizer and will definitely be checking this one out!
I'm shocked that this works for me too! I think i'm NW10-13.
Beauty of Joseon came out with a new SPF in a stick that looks promising. Hope you can review it soon.
I've been looking for an alternative to the Neutrogena Clear Face oil-free spf 30, which I usually use because it invariably gets into my large deep set eyes, and stings terribly. Maybe this will work for me. 😊
Let me know what you think if you try it
Will do!
I'm totally buying this to try it
Medium looks perfect on you.
Light looks like it might actually be ideal light for me. I am so picky and don't like looking orange or too dark. And of course being cool toned it's so hard for me to not look orange.
BUT I'm loving the tone on you with medium/deep. It's so pretty
Deep, you could almost use that as a cream bronzer. It looks so natural as you said!!
I'm just so excited
Thanks for the great review. I sure hope this makes it way to Canada!
Happy Tuesday! Thank you for reviewing these new sunscreens from Neutrogena. They sound like winners!
Love this sunscreen! I bought the Light shade and it works for me. The only other tinted mineral sunscreen I would suggest is Exuviance SPF 50. It is oil- free, but only one shade. I've tried many tinted mineral sunscreens, but these work best for me.
Oooeh! De medium suits you very well!
Wow! The colors look amazing! I hope this product comes in a good amount to make it worth buying.
I did not know these existed, I will give them a try. I use Neutrogena skincare exclusively.
New tinted mineral sunscreens that are AFFORDABLE??? never clicked one of your new vids SO fast!
Thank you for this video, Dr Dray! Any one knows if this is available in the UK? I've been looking on Amazon and searching the Web all morning, but I haven't found much sadly. Thanks! 😊
i am buying this for sure!!!! all of her recommendations really worked for me!
Good morning Dr. Dray and everyone! I enjoyed the video but I haven’t met a Neutrogena sunscreen that didn’t burn my eyes like a thousand suns 🥴 I have very sensitive eyes.
These are mineral, so maybe won’t be an issue. Their chemical sunscreens often do burn the eyes
@@DrDrayzday yeah that’s true but it also has Isopropyl Palmitate, I understand it’s not problematic for everyone, but it is for me so it’s a hard pass. Have a great day :)
Hello Dr. Dre how this sunscreen compare to the Autralia tinted sunscreen. I love that one but is hard to find. Thanks
How do you think it compares to the Undefined beauty R&R Sun Serum?
Hi Dr Dray, your skin looks so amazing & healthy! So if you're wearing these Neutrogena tinted moisturizers in this video, I'm definitely going to go grab some!!! 😊😊😊
Let me know what you think if you try them
@@DrDrayzday I most definitely will
@@camellasong9758 , do you use an oil based remover or balm to help remove the sunscreen?
@@camellasong9758 double cleanse has been life changing for me for exactly this reason! The softymo and had labo oil cleanser take the pasty white sunscreens off effortlessly! Both I discovered bec of Dr Dray. I follow up with Aveeno calm and restore cleanser. I highly recommend you try an oil cleanser to remove first!
@@DrDrayzday Is the darker the shade of tint correlated with better protection of blue light? Thanks!
These sound great! I’ll make sure to pick one up once I run out of my current sunscreen.
Which color would be the equivalent of the cerave one? Cerave's tinted sunscreen is too dark and orange on me, so I'm afraid I'll pick the wrong color here if I go with medium. But if medium is like cerave then I know to go light. A color comparison would be helpful. Thankyou!
