Hi Jerry, I loved this upgrade kit when it arrived. The winches are fantastic! I have now ordered the KA Models Trumpeter upgrade kit as well. Expensive yes, duplicates many of the Pontos upgrades, yes! However this kit has many additional items that are way more detailed than in the original Trumpeter kit. It will work for me as I am converting mine to the Olympic and I need so many more bits and pieces. It's worth a look at the web site even just to see what is now available! At this rate I wont be using much of the original kit detail! There is a difference, just looking at the deck ventilation equipment and comparing them to the KA upgrade parts will show the incredible additional detail. Coloured window insets and even a set of scale people are included! Together the Pontos and the KA kits will make a fantastic model......at enormous extra expense!!!! Best wishes JH (UK) ;-)

      Wow, that simply sounds amazing
! Are you going to be making any videos? If so, I cannot wait to see them. Best of luck with your build!

@@TrekFanNCC-1701 Probably like you i have many things on the go. I think I told you that I was building a 1/50 scale HMS Bounty at the moment. That is just starting to come together now. I am still waiting to get everything together to start the Titanic/Olympic which will be an enormous project. Not sure about making videos on that as I have so many things going on and it's finding the time. Planning how to move forward on the project is a task on it's own! Thanks for your best wishes
I guess I may need it! Regards JH :-D

@Илья Hi! The KA upscale kit is the better buy as far as what is covered. It is more expensive but the wealth of detail is huge and includes 3D printed parts as well as loads of resin cast pieces. There is obviously loads and loads of PE sheets. The correct number of lifeboats are also in the big box! if you only have a budget for one upscale then in my opinion go for the KA, you will not be disappointed! The best deck replacement to buy is the Scaledecks version which is far the best on the market. You do get a wooden deck with the KA but if you can stretch to the Scaledecks version then great! Many other parts are coming on stream now including funnels, propellers and interior furniture etc! :-)

@Илья The Pontos does have a more detailed funnel PE but all of the Pontos is designed specifically for the Trumpeter kit parts which are not all accurate. The KA does not supply any Funnel corrections but does supply so much more in all three of the materials used. The PE is so much better and has significantly more tiny details. The KA has a full detail bridge set and better deck gear which is accurate for starters. The amounts of detail is colossal compared to the Pontos kit! The 3D printed parts are near to perfection that you are likely to get. For example the Pontos only supplies minimal details for the many ventilators on the ship. The KA simply provides totally new examples that are so much better than what is in the Trumpeter Kit. A much better anchor chain is provided in the KA along with passenger figures and some corrections that can be added to the model. They even supply little jigs where necessary for item alignment on the model. The resin parts include new hatch covers and a complete set of replacement lifeboats. The Trumpeter kit is actually 2 lifeboats short and this was not corrected by the Pontos. I have both Pontos and the KA which are good but when compared the KA easily is much better for enhancing your model. They even include the tiny bridge bell left out on the Pontos! Stained glass window acetate's are also included in the KA upscale. More expensive yes but you certainly get your money's worth. As I said before, you could get a better replacement deck than both the Pontos or the KA as that would certainly be on view too on your model. :-)

@Илья In short, very little! I have just been comparing the parts included in both kits for you. The Pontos has a few things that the KA hasn't. Detailed PE skins for the funnels. Metal reinforcement linings for the Mast superstructure rooms. They make up into a box structure which supports the metal masts. The Pontos uses some PE parts for the big Steam winches whereas the KA uses highly detailed and arguably just as good if not better 3D printed versions. The Fairleads are mainly metal but are incorrect on the Pontos. Again the KA has more accurate versions of these partly in brass, accurate and just as good. The Pontos anchor chain is rubbish! The KA features everything else on the decks in PE, resin and 3D printed parts. Both kits have all the PE benches but only the KA provide deck loungers. The items that you identified are all things that were not on the Titanic! They are sold and shown as such but totally incorrect for the Trumpeter kit so leave those alone! The Pontos provides metal finished propellers which look pretty but on closer inspection are the wrong shape and not high quality. The KA has 3D printed propellers that are very accurate to the correct design and highly detailed. These are available from elsewhere made in bronze but all this stuff comes at a price! If I only had the choice of buying one set I would buy the KA kit. Try looking at Nigel's Modelling Bench review of the KA kit as that should help you decide what is better for you. Nigel also did a review of the Pontos and the Scaledecks wooden deck replacement too which is worth a look. He goes into great detail on this stuff. There are literally hundreds of extra tiny details included in the KA kit which are not in the Pontos. The Pontos was basically designed around the parts in the Trumpeter kit whereas the KA was designed as a stand alone upscale kit and replaces many poorly detailed parts completely. A lot of modellers that bought their upscale kits when the KA came out a little later were extremely glad they chose the KA. My advice would be to buy the KA but look at the full reviews by Nigel before making a decision. :-D

@@jyddentz I tell you, I wish I could afford to do the R.M.S. Titanic, R.M.S. Britannic and the R.M.S. Olympic. I even got the aftermarket 1/200 scale decal sheet set that gives the option to build all three ships. But that is WAY over my price limit.
