    i just remembered half the people at my school can’t read analog clocks (/hyp but that’s what it feels like)

      There's a surprisingly large amount of people that don't know how to read analog clocks and that honestly kind of concerns me.

      I can read them just fine!

      @@DannysClocks I love Analog clocks. They are very important and sadly the younger generations are going digital and analog is becoming a dying art in a way.

    How many cuckoo clocks do you have?

    Hello! If you don’t mind; Why do you turn your clock hands backwards to set them, I work with many clocks and would never suggest you do such...

    • @DannysClocks
      @DannysClocks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure! Rack and snail striking clocks are actually perfectly safe to push backwards, as well as _modern_ chiming clocks by Hermle or Urgos or many other German manufacturers. Count wheel striking clocks are _not_ safe to push backwards as you'll break the releasing mechanism inside the movement. The releasing mechanism for a rack and snail striking clock is completely different from that of a count-wheel striking clock. Contrary to popular belief, if your clock is fairly modern/vintage, it can likely be pushed backwards.

      @@DannysClocks Depends what mechanism it is. My GHS cuckoo clocks are count wheel clocks and I can turn the hands backwards on them as much as I'd like to. Same thing goes with my musical Kuner cuckoo clock(the one with the fox and eagle and grapes on it that plays Il Trovatore.) and several other clocks of mine although there are some that have mechanisms that won't allow me to move the hands backwards. Such as my tall hunter themed cuckoo quail, also from Kuner and my small typical 5 leaves and 1 bird cuckoo clock with a blue painted wooden bird with a moving beak.
