@@han3wmanwukong125 Nah it's not bars, well sort of. I stopped smoking weed decades ago, and one day I walked into Clint Eastwood's bar in Carmel California, because I lived close by and went to Carmel often, and the bar reeked of piss and alcohol and it so turned me off at a young age in my mid-30's that I just sort of swore off drinking out in bars after that. Backyard, watching sports on TV on a weekend I'm good for a beer or two, but it was not the club in Miami that did it. But I will rant on here and tell you about that club. My girlfriend at the time told me we should go to this club where a band was playing. We got to this super disco-looking club at about 8:30 pm and it had three levels and round little tables that looked forward at the stage. Lots of disco lights, no music playing and besides us there were maybe five other couples. So at 9 PM this group comes on, and they were incredible. Blown away. By 9:30 there were maybe 20 couples there and the room would have easily sat 200 people. So it was like empty and still no one dancing on the disco lights dance floor. The group took a break and came back and did another killer 90-minute set. The woman who was the lead singer was one of the best I'd ever heard. Yeah, I should say that. The name of the group in 1985 performing in front of maybe 50 people in a giant disco Miami club was The Miami Sound Machine which I had never heard of before and they played all the hits we now know.

I had some experiences that drew me away from clubs. The first one was a club that's pretty famous, the music was good but the place was packed, it wasn't easy to enjoy yourself because it felt like we were sardines and i am an introvert so i wasn't able to really do much else other than hang with the people i went with. I'm friends with 1 of them to this day but that's it. The second isn't exactly me going to hang out In a club as a patron but my ex friend used to work the door as a bouncer and I'd get in for free but i mostly.spent my time outside with him walking and checking people. It was small and 1 thing i saw that disgusted me is they had a local radio station do a twerk off and the chick that won took off her panties to gain the crowd. I was disgusted that it got to that, there's guys taking photos and videos of her that were close to her. The security guard also told me of times when dudes would get pissed because someone pushed them accidentally or was walking around and someone accidentally stepped on their shoe, they would go to their car and pull out an AK and start shooting at the place.
Aside from that, hearing about all the fights and shootings for stupid reasons at other clubs didn't help

The type of people that say this have never been to a proper club. They’re going to shit places that play shit music, which attracts shit people. Vegas? That’s the worst of it all. I grew up in the New York club scene in the late 90’s and early 20’s, with proper DJs playing proper house and techno. The clubs were filled with dancers from all walks of life just getting down and having fun. Sure, there was the occasional oddball in the crowd, or the tourist who went a little too hard, but that’s what kept things spicy.

I partied a bit during college having joined a frat but for the most part I just stayed in and gamed with friends. I'm with him it's a giant waste of time, all you do is lose money and can potentially go to jail for it, whether because of you or someone else. The risk/reward ratio just ain't there lol

I never understood the attraction of going to clubs and getting shitfaced. Spending extortionate amounts of money on alcohol, almost always having a rough night and then feeling like shit the next day. Why people want to do that regularly is baffling.

The key is getting buzzed enough to let loose and enjoy music and dancing. Unfortunately it often draws in bad crowds and people that don’t know their limits but if you are socially adept you can avoid these people

A lot of people don't even give clubs or bars a solid try. If you like music, they are fun. Go with friends, go alone, whatever. A huge problem is people go out looking to find one night stands and stuff, and so of course they will hate it. Some people will just not like it in general which is fine, but give it a solid 3 trys or so at different venues. Go to karaoke night, country night, go to an open format club, or go to one that specializes in house or disco. There are options. You don't have to drink. Just vibe and dance
