I am not Iranian, but I have visited Iran many times. Iran is not a country that you think you can imagine while sitting at home. Iran is a continent in every sense of the word in terms of geographical, environmental, and socio-cultural diversity. What also distinguishes Iran is its cleanliness, something legendary. All of Iran is clean, the important and less important cities, the main streets and squares, as well as the back alleys. You will not find pools of stagnant water, you will not find piles of garbage, you will not find even flies in Iran, can you believe that?

Bold statement. The problem is not the people. The problem is the regime that took control by deception, force and terror. If you speak against these unelected Islamic leaders that make the laws and impose judgment you are in trouble. If you try to spread the gospel of peace you're in trouble.

When I was around that age, my grandmother befriended widow and her two kids who had just emigrated from Iran. She helped show her around town and get acquainted with the city.
Because I was *obsessed* with planes and plane crashes at the time, I remember basking the daughter, who was my age, if she ever saw a plane crash before, and she said "yes" immediately. For years I thought she may have been lying, but in hindsight, I realized that her family moved here around the time if the Iran-Iraw war, so it was definitely possible that she was telling the truth.

CIA and Mossad also help the revolution because the Shah decided to sell his oil with his currency and not dollar. When revolution succeeded, they (west) found out that they are real patriots not corrupted, and wont sell oil and resouces markets to westerns for free as they do in other middle eastern and african countries. its true they are extremist, but that only helped the american propaganda. the revolution made Iran stronger and can stand to bullies.

I’m Greek, and I love my Iranian friends! Despite that bit of unpleasantness between Greeks and Persians some 2,500 to 2,300 years ago, I’ve always had a genuine affection and a deep respect for the Persians and their great culture. I’ve known many Iranians over the years, and everyone I met have been the kindest, gentlest and most hospitable people. In fact, Iranians - together with the Lebanese - have shown themselves to be among the truest and most generous companions (we Greeks also have the hospitality part abundantly in our blood, but we don’t always adhere to the first two qualities: my compatriots are generally nowhere near as easygoing as the Iranians). I’m also greatly interested in the history of the Achaemenid Empire, and I believe that Iran’s contribution to world civilization has largely been underplayed by most Western scholars. Thankfully, in recent decades, a new generation of eminent Iranologists have begun to rectify this. As an archaeologist myself, I would naturally love to visit the ancient sites of Persia and get to know the Iranian people in their own homeland. I haven’t managed it yet, but maybe one day soon - Inshallah...great video tour - thanks for sharing!

Few of my very close friends are Greeks. Don’t worry about the unpleasantness. It gives us something to talk about and tease each other. Generally, old civilizations get along just fine. It’s the new world people who are insecure and find that they have to be superior to mask their insecurities. But we have exceptions like Phil who are bridging the divide.
In the end they will see the light. I am hopeful.

we recall the forceful change from Zoroastrianism to Islam 1,500 years ago. They caused great bloodshed, enslaved our women, destroyed libraries, looted wealth, and attempted to erase our lineage. We constantly remind ourselves of this. We are not Arab; we are proud Persians. From childhood, despite the religious education in schools, many of us rejected their religious texts, a sentiment widespread in Iran, informed by the true history our families shared. Before the Islamic Republic, Iran was a monarchy, gaining power and wealth, even loaning money to America and dictating oil prices through OPEC. The Islamist regime arrived 45 years ago with external support. It's painful to recall that just days after the Islamic Revolution, Yasser Arafat visited Iran, claiming it as his home and left with substantial funds. Interviews with Islamic Republic's top officials suggest direct Palestinian involvement in Iran's transformation. and the support for terrorism and occupation and destruction of Iran is getting more and more every day

@@negaralien2924please stop it. If you live in Iran you have no idea how negatively iran is portrayed in the west. You are upset the iranian government supports palestine and you speak of them as terrorists?? They are freedom fighters sacrificing themselves for their land.
What are you talking about? You have no grasp of geopolitical forces and fed pahlavi puppet ideas as if the west is your grand saviour snd friend. You are severely wrong and if you lived in the west as i do with opened eyes you would see the what you are now, a naive and gullible person riding on a wave of western fantasy.
