Vibrolure prototype demo (Vibrating fishing lure)

This is a demo of a prototype vibrating fishing lure that I developed, known as Vibrolure.
Vibrolure plays a random sequence of vibration waveforms that mimic an injured fish. Predatory fish are attracted to these vibrations and will attack the lure mistaking it for prey.
Vibrolure is powered by a rechargeable battery with an estimated battery-life of 40 hours.
The appearance of this prototype does not represent the final design for Vibrolure and a unique design is being developed.

Have you tried this in various dams?

+orallav7 Hi, I've only tested the lure in Bloemhof dam and the Vaal river so far and results have been fantastic. I'm currently working on version 2 that uses my own design for the shape of the lure and there will be two sizes as well. I'll send some of the new versions to Protea anglers to test at different dams. However, I only expect this lure to work well in the Vaal and Orange river systems due to the aggressiveness of the barbels in those rivers.

orallav7 Thanks, I'm not sure if the lure will be too large for bass, but the smaller version I'm planning to make might be suitable for bass fishing. It's a very expensive lure though, so getting it stuck and breaking the line will be a very expensive loss. For calling barbel I use 120lbs braid, so I've never lost a lure.

+Jano Karelsen Hi Jano, I don't have plans to mass produce this lure, but I'll probably make a few for friends and people that would really like to have one. The plan is to produce a very high-end product in limited quantities for enthusiasts. It's very expensive and complex to put together and it will never be a commercial success, but I developed this product because it allowed me to combine my interests in electronics, programming and fishing into one project. Let me know when you are in the Bloemhof dam area and I'll bring you a prototype to test.
