Glad to see you're getting better Keith and taking the time to focus on your health. You're fortunate to have good doctors and be so close to one of the best medical facilities up in Atlanta. Get well sir!

Tifton is hardly close to Atlanta!! Closer to Savannah/Charleston .

    • @kindablue1959

@@par4par72 Tifton to Atlanta is nearly the same as Tifton to Savannah. 10 miles difference is nothing when Atlanta has all the highest rated health care facilities in the state. Charleston is much further than either of the others.

@@kindablue1959 that was my thinking. Some areas of the country have a days drive or flight neccessary to access top rated healthcare.

Great news! I went from 300 to 170, changing my diet. Dropped all meds, it's a challenge but doable. Three of my favorite TH-cam channels are from big southern guys, and I sure would love to see them make healthy changes, so they're with us for a long time.

Dehydration is more common than most know, getting dizzy is a symptom as can head aches and confusion, many are dehydrated and not aware. Being dehyrated is a factor in Covid deaths because it cause the blood to be thicker and worsens blood clotting. I've had gut surgury and will always be prone to dehydration because I lost most of the colon - which serves to absorb water. Get into the habit of drinking more water than you think you need. Sports drinks can help
      I always appreciate these videos.

Hi Keith. One thing you may wish to get is a smart watch; they can help monitor your exercise, blood pressure, heart rate, etc… as well as be a watch. As a new owner of an Apple Watch myself, I set it to remind me to stand up and walk around occasionally. It can also monitor how much I walk/exercise daily. I’m pretty sure smart watches from other manufacturers have similar “health”-related features.

Hey Keith, I am glad you are overcoming your health issues and will be back to normal soon. As for your Drive controller, if it has a current limiter switch on it, it may be set way to low, such as zero or one. You can dial it in by starting off at the maximum setting and then see if you can operate the machine. If you are concerned that the motor can hang up and destroy itself, you can set that Limiter down from the maximum until you feel comfortable that if the motor does bind up, it will open the switch and interrupt the power to the motor and keep all that Magic smoke inside.

one thing that I have found can help with cases where electronics should work but are not reliable - triple check all the grounds. make sure they all are solid, short connects back to the same point. make sure if a device has more than one ground post to ground all of them. And on anything with high current demands make sure the signal wires to sensors are shielded by a ground - run it in coax with a good ground to the shield. also do not bundle together (neaten up) a high current wire with signal wires - the high current spikes create false signals that can literally jump through the insulation (inductive coupling) into the sensor leads.

I am so *glad* you are on the mend Keith!!! It doesn't matter how old or young one is, even when surgery can be done laparoscopically it is NO JOKE at all! Take it steady and let your strength come back at its own pace. The most important thing is your being fit and health. If the videos need to take a backseat for a couple of months then I know for a fact everyone here will understand and support your decision.
I also have to say I did a quick double-take at this title... In my part of the North of England 'Piddling in the shop' would probably be the unfortunate result of bladder surgery!!!

Keith, I noticed in the last video and todays that have lost a little weight, which is always a good thing, keep it up. I had to lose weight in order to get knee replacement surgery and I struggled with it for quite awhile. Well thanks to a new diabetes med, Ozempic, I got my diabetes under control and a welcome side effect to that I lost 60 lbs. putting me under the limit for the knee surgery which is scheduled to start Mar. 7 with my right knee. So if things go to plan I should be pain free come my birthday in July. Y'all take care and keep shedding those extra pounds, your knees and your heart will thank you. 👍😄

Keith take care of yourself. I had emergency abdominal non keyhole surgery just before covid. Perfect operation but I took the doctors advice on lifting, liquid diet and so on very seriously. I literally took 12 to 18 months adapting slowly, rather than the 2 or 3 suggested. Smaller portion of food more often, extra liquids and exercise and I am now totally fine. Hope this brings encouragement your way. Best from the UK.

I used to be an industrial electrician and I really had the nack of fault finding and I can’t resist asking you if you’ve checked a couple of things though I’m sure your friends probably have. Firstly the fact that it runs for a while then stops tells me that something may be getting hot, this can be caused by a bad solder joint or even a component that is meant to be screwed to a heat sink with heat sink paste which may have come loose or maybe never screwed down properly in he first place. If the solder joints haven’t already been checked then the best way is to get it out in the sun and have a careful look with a good magnifying glass. As for the heat sinks, just use a screwdriver to see if any of the screws can be tightened. When I did this kind of work I had the luxury of a laser guide infra red thermometer to look for hot spots but maybe you could run it till it stops and devise some way of monitoring the temperature of the circuit board components even if you isolate the power after if stops and quickly feel around with a finger. Be careful with that white heat sink paste though as it is toxic so best not to get it on your skin.
Good luck and I hope you make a good recovery.

Glad the surgery has got you sorted Keith, I sympathise with you about "missing" your Christmas treats and good food etc. December 22nd 2021 saw me having open heart surgery to replace a wrecked aortic valve. All is well now but I just wanted to say to be careful with what you do and for how long. You have to listen to what your body is telling you. Slowly, slowly as the saying goes. I felt so good so quickly that I went a bit bonkers and overdid things and ended up back in hospital having a litre of blood drained from around my heart. Depressing doesn't even come close to describing how I felt. All I was doing was walking, not trying to hump dirty great pieces of metal around. So listen to the advice you are given, and listen to what your body is telling you, it knows exactly what's what. Keep the projects going, you are an exceptional talent. Happy New Year from bonnie Scotland!
