I'm a Coral Gables native and haven't heard of this but building my own place somewhat similar to this design without the "fluff" of being in a pond but with "just enough" water to be intimidating to intruders is my goal.

Yeah, no. As someone who was born and raised in Miami I will point out “just a 35 minute drive from Miami International airport and to the Florida Keys” is straight up a lie. That is if you are driving in the middle of the night, as I guarantee you it is an hour drive or more from the airport most of the time, maybe 45 minutes with light traffic, easily more than an hour during rush hour (after 3 PM is when the demons come out until 7pm). Same goes for the journey to the Keys. This also means you are literally in the middle of nowhere civilization wise, as all events mostly take place far up north in Miami. I promise you will hate the drive if you are a social person and all of your friends probably will hate it too. But if you are an introvert, this is the place for you!
Shaq had this build when he was with the heat. Then Wade and Union bought it and have been using it for Diddy/Epstein style parties ever since. The place is gorgeous, I live 5 minutes away, the problem is all the rumors about what’s gone on there both here locally and now coming out in the news and on TH-cam describing some of the horrors. What a shame..
Maintenance on all that land and water features will probably cost another 20mil over the next 5-7 years. The stagnant moat is gonna attract a lot of nasty critters. No thanks.
