You bet! I was really surprised that it wasn’t “too much green!” Love the fitted strap, and bonus that they said it’s been updated to be longer. Would love to see a 9000 series Miyota version, but I DO love a day/date…so this movement works for me, especially with upgrade to hacking.

Like I mentioned, I thought the whole green package was just a little too much, but in person it's much more put together...looks great! And there's always to option to tone it down by replacing the strap. But this strap looks perfect on it, and it's very comfy...so I prefer it as-is!

Totally agree! This design is inspired, as I mentioned, but they’ve put together an attractive watch with great specs for the price. I’m down with reviewing more from BERNY if others are interested. Great review. Nice watch. The absence of a lumed triangle on the inner bezel ruined this one for me though. I do dive, but even without that, the timing function needs to be usable at night.
This one feels pretty decent to the touch, too. Small indentations and not bumped easily. Crown isn’t perfect on the grip, but looks nice and does the job.
Great video, and cool watch! That thing is begging to be put on a khaki-colored NATO strap. The hardware would have to be polished, to match the case polishing. Intriguing watch, and I have some Amazon gift cards. Hmmmm

I will gladly share my assessment of the watch. I think Berny sounds somewhat odd as a company name, and I would’ve named it “Paradigm Watch Company “.
Berny has definitely been one brand name that I've had difficulty opening up to. But I've been impressed with their quality/price ratio....some good looking homage watches!
I thought this green dial was the most dynamic, which says a lot since I usually don't gravitate towards green dials. But I feared the strap was just TOO much green. It's not! Great combo, and the watch head really looks more expensive than it is.
Great review. The one thing that really turns me off with the watch is that it's a day date rather than just having the date only it. Still very tempting though at the price point.
@@WatchWitt Fair call. I don't think I've ever had a watch with a day complication. I was looking around for Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris homages as I'll never afford the real thing. This is the closest I've found and so from that perspective is another reason why I'm not a fan of the day complication on it as it doesn't have one. Should I be lucky enough to win this one, I could very well have my mind changed 🙂
I like it I have several Berny watches,s there all great and with very good specs noticed like everything the prices are up they used to be under the Paganis design prices but there getting to around the same on some pieces. Great review and always positive feedback on the watches you review.
Thanks for sharing. I hope I never get a watch that is a total bomb. I try to review watches that I think will be interesting, popular, unique, surprising, or great value. And I try to call ‘‘em as I see ‘em, as far as pros and cons. It’s all just opinion. I think many would like to see an upgrade to a Miyota 9000 series if they’re going to stick with that movement manufacturer. Of course that would bring the price up a little, but they’re doing so many other things right…people would pay a little more for higher quality. Always a fine line in budget pieces!
I like the action on this bezel. Rotation is a little clumsy maybe due to the type of knurling and/or crown location next to the curve of the lugs, at the 2 spot, but all and all great feature!

I didn't see that while filming! It's hard to catch everything while talking. You're absolutely right. Looks like tool marks, possibly while applying??? Actually, if you look at the closeup section you can see marks on a few other indices as well, just not as aggressive. 9...the 1 in 12.....but hard to see this in normal wear with your naked eye, just visible under magnification. Some of the compromise with budget watches...not all have immaculate dials.
This thing would go great with all my bush attire!! Here in Africa we only wear Khaki clothes right? Haha, but I actually do work for the Parks here in South Africa so my joke is actually not a joke for me. Lets hope I win.
It felt pretty snug when rotating the bezel crown, like maybe there's a beefy o-ring (or 2) in there. But I'm with you. I'm always suspect of many of these budget watch WR ratings. 100m would be respectable for this watch, and I'm pretty confident it has that, at least.

I'm not sure. They do tend to offer newer releases to me over older models. This watch here was only my second BERNY. I'll probably feature another in a month or two. They're making some great watches! Personally, I just have to push through on my dislike of the name. It's a lot easier when the watch is well made and presents a great value!

Yes, that is the downside of purchasing directly from them or AliExpress. I've always said the warranty is worthless. If an issue arises, you have to pay for return shipping, which can often be MORE than the purchase price of the watch! At least if purchased through Amazon you have some assurance regarding returns.
Weekend at Bernys! An interesting and promising brand Berny. Shame on Oris, how come a 100 dollar brand uses sapphire glass on the back and makes the effort to harden the case! Good effort Berny.
Chinese watch makers are playing hard ball in the budget watch game. As we get more and more comfortable with their stand out brands, they’ll continue to raise the bar and will easily sneak their way into the premium market! I definitely recommend consulting with western English speakers before deciding on a brand name, though! I think the reputation of quality will overpower hesitation of the BERNY name…it did with me.

Well, that’s the funny part. We’re already seeing a bit of what you described. The name on the dial is microbrand X, and the watch is manufactured in Hong Kong! We’re all getting pretty comfortable with it, and I think that’s great.
That was my initial thought too, which was steering me towards the blue. But I’ve got to say that in person I think it works! The green strap doesn’t “scream” like I thought it would.
Not a bad idea! Some might say to get funky with an orange strap! I’ve never considered that a “natural” combination, but other do…and there’s orange on the dial for the tie-in!
Yes, that’s the hardest part of adopting a love of this brand; the name. But they made some quality, affordable watches with great specs. They’re experimenting with some logo only dials now, which could be a good thing.

Great watch for an intro in compression diver style pieces, even if you don’t traditionally like them, like me! I’m quite attracted to it
Not as convenient as a traditional dive style bezel, but definitely a cleaner look...I dig it!

The silver surrounding the four indicator is wonky. That's the only one too, so I think it's a mistake.

That was my initial thought too, which was steering me towards the blue. But I’ve got to say that in person I think it works! The green strap doesn’t “scream” like I thought it would.

Not a bad idea! Some might say to get funky with an orange strap! I’ve never considered that a “natural” combination, but other do…and there’s orange on the dial for the tie-in!
I have to say, not a fan of that brand name.... It sounds cheap
Yes, that’s the hardest part of adopting a love of this brand; the name. But they made some quality, affordable watches with great specs. They’re experimenting with some logo only dials now, which could be a good thing.
