Another excellent video - I rode some of the route from Buxton to Glossop on Wednesday on the 61 bus! "Buxworth" used to be "Bugsworth". If you ever get the chance I suggest the Whaley Bridge to Disley road from just past Disley station (coming from Stockport turn right at traffic lights) goes to Whaley Bridge train station. Come round a bend and suddenly there is a large valley and a town in the distance. Surprised me the first time.
Thanks for the tip. My work takes me to Manchester quite often so I’m always looking for different routes to break the routine. I’ll check it out soon. Thanks for watching.
@@steelcitytourer I have a personal connection with that route - my father's mother's male line goes back to Whaley Bridge in the early 1700s; my link is through a chap who left in 1780 and moved to Romiley. He may have used that route, or the old road (Buxton Road) through Furness Vale that became the A6 before it was rerouted.
