    2:00 Yes he did during several shows in early 1993 and 1994 and particularly during a whole show in Slovenia. Fender sent him one single prototype (a blue one). There are several videos about it on YT, the pickguard was white, the bridge was different and iirc the pickups were different as well.

    It’s a killer sounding guitar even though I’m not a huge Nirvana fan I would still rock that offset. Also glad to see you are making use of that strap you got from the Premiere Guitar mystery box! Ugly yes but usable, I have one too. 12:14 for the Easter eggs, thanks for the video!

      I'm going to use the straps from the Premier Guitar box of trash until the end of time! If only I could find a use for three packs of acoustic 13s.
      You got the easter eggs! I was worried they were going to be too difficult/blurry to notice. They also appear much sooner in the video as well. :)

    Have been thinking of getting one of these for the past year, was torn between this, another Mustang and a Jag, after watching Molly Rankin playing Jangle Pop with one with Alvvays, decided this guitar can do everything i need it to do (seems very versatile, tons of jangle, then can get really dirty which is what I need for my original project) Great vid

      Thank you! Yeah these are pretty versatile, but I'm strongly considering selling this to buy a KC Jaguar. We'll see!

    I had one of these and I really liked how it looked and I love kurt cobain… but god damn this thing couldn’t hang… the bridge kept collapsing on me cause I strum pretty aggressively. But for a guitar that was built for nirvana… I’d expect it to hold up to the intense strumming. Basically I couldn’t play it and just ended up selling it. Still a cool piece and I’d still suggest getting one if you like nirvana!

    • @ArtOfShredYT
      @ArtOfShredYT  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ahh interesting. I haven't had an issue with the bridge, but that is a fairly common occurence on a lot of offsets with trems. Loctite helps.
      As for Kurt's guitars. During the live chat of this video someone mentioned that Kurt's guitar tech blocked all the trems so they were not usable.

    Also, mustangs have high pickup switches. When strumming it’s easy to prick your thumb or turn the pickup off. Cobain filed down his switches. That’s why on mustang on the 2012 cobain mustang/this Jagstang have short switches. Don’t need to be a nirvana fan for that, it’s a practical adjustment and a good idea.

    I also have a red jagstang. I have bought many guitars(always fender-stratocaster telecaster mustang and jaguar) but this is the best for me. The neck is awesome even if the body is a little heavy. I would like to buy a guitar with the jagstang neck, the lightest body and the sound of a telecaster. Does this kind of guitar exist? Otherwise I search for someone who will be able to build it. Thanks for your review. Ps. The manson guitar by matthew bellamy inspires me a lot but I have never tried one.

    I have two questions-since it has hb and a ss--what volume pot does it have 250k or 500k?--heard the restringing process of these offsets are different is this a problem to be concerned with?

    I have a left handed 2019 mustang. And I've owned the lefty jagstang.. there's no difference between the two except for the humbucker and the body style. That's it. They're identical. So they're gonna sound the same because they're the same

    I had the Jaguar between 2016 and 2019. It was a very good guitar that seemed to have a lot of personality.
    I've never even been around a Jagstang, but I never really wanted one versus the Jaguar that just looked so much like Kurt. I feel like you do in that the Jagstang doesn't feel like Kurt. Kurt designed it, but he wasn't really known for using it, and the colors that they used kind of end up looking like something you'd have expected Blink 182 to have used. Kurt's music wasn't made to sound clean-cut or bright and happy, so what Fender is putting out seems like a miss there. A pearloid pick guard seems way too happy.
    I am glad to see that you took the signature model and played something else with it that wasn't just a video of Nirvana's best riffs. When I was looking at the Kim Thayil Polara, I was getting so tired of so many people just playing Soundgarden on it (everyone was just playing "Fell on Black Days" over and over). We know that the signature will play what the artist played, so filling in the gaps where we have doubts is where reviews like this are most helpful.

    • @ArtOfShredYT
      @ArtOfShredYT  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yup, I basically agree with all of that. Although I don't dislike the color scheme. The blue and the red they used both look great and I do believe Kurt chose them?
      As for playing non-Nirvana riffs. I never play anybody's songs on reviews so they don't get flagged and I lose whatever little ad revenue I get. And the intro demo tracks are whatever the guitar inspired me to write, which in this case felt only somewhat Nirvana-esque to me.
      That said, I did do a top 10 Nirvana riffs video using this guitar 😆: th-cam.com/video/jTG7uGKTc-I/w-d-xo.html

    • @ArtOfShredYT
      @ArtOfShredYT  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hear that. If you've already got offsets in the collection and you're not looking for the specific things this does then it's a tougher sell. But yeah, $600 is a no brainer haha

    I feel the same way about my Epiphone Les… I rarely play it… I love it, it’s beautiful, and plays amazing, but it just isn’t conducive to my favorite style of playing. I’ll play it for GNR stuff, maybe some blues, but that’s about it…

    • @ArtOfShredYT
      @ArtOfShredYT  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That definitely makes sense. Could be the same here. My favorite style is still probably old school thrash metal riffs, as much as I try to branch out from that. But I am also known to drop or knock over guitars haha. So maybe subconsciously I don't want to mess this one up in case I want to sell it so I don't reach for it as often. I've been playing it like mad lately though.

      @@ArtOfShredYT Yeah I grew up on 80’s thrash metal and one of my first guitars was an Aria Pro Explorer, and I’ve kinda favored that body style ever since… Although I’ve grown incredibly fond of Tele’s with age… But yeah, 80’s thrash rhythm guitar is where my heart is

    If he actually knew what chords he played(he didn't) tuned his guitar correctly(he didn't) and played like he actually gave AF(he didn't) then maybe I could see people being excited about this. You can replicate Nirvanas sound with a 100 dollar electric guitar. Not once have I heard Kurts name mentioned when talking about great, or even good, guitarists. Sure he deserves respect, but a higher end signature guitar? Absolutely not...
