Yes Glen, we thought so too, nice to catch some natives although options for that are limited in SA without a kayak. The next video (Part 2) sees some more good catches the following morning too.
Well done on the Pb callop Doug. She was a beauty, the last time i saw that many callop I didn't have Gray hair 😊 Bad luck on the chair and at the start of trip too 😔😥 At least Frank got a kick out of it 😂
Some people might unkindly say that I always get a kick out of Doug's misfortune, but that wouldn't be at all accurate 😎 Seriously, we always have a 'larf' when we go fishing and it's all in good humour.
Hello Frank and Doug, would be 3 1/2 years since I fished at Bundaleer, used to stop in on my way home from Quorn (Pitchi Richi). Never had any luck there, only used soft plastics, will try worms next time. The cost of the fishing permit, for us pensioners, is peanuts and you can fish at any of the designated locations. why would you not get one, as it helps with the management.
Absolutely Keith, why would you not get a permit when it goes directly to fish stocking for everyone's benefit. Like you, I hadn't been there for nearly 5 years and the fish are now excellent size and well worth the trip. I haven't tried lures there, to be honest I think you really need a kayak to do that with much chance of success as the water is very shallow in close. We had a great trip just that afternoon, but as you will see when Part 2 goes up, we had a very good morning the next day as well.
I remember when I went on a dolphin cruise with Frank with the kayaks and Frank brought smoked oysters and he said that the oysters would attract the big mud crabs when he he tipped the juice into the water at the mangroves. It was a beautiful trip me and Arion and Trudy we all enjoyed ourselves especially when we especially when the dolphins came up to us. And I said to Frank I want to go swimming with them and he said no you're not allowed to so I think Arion capsized the kayak so I could basic get in the water with them😂.
Oh I was gonna go here but I was wondering could you paddle board there as well. I don't know if he needed the fishing licence for this pond but I liked it because if you didn't fish anything now you could still go up to Moonta Bay. I especially like the beach near Monte Bay that it's got a special black hose halfway through the water so you cannot anywhere deeper the good also got a island in the middle of that so we can jump off and dive and things like that it's where the fairy goes really good I know that they stopped this damn that's why I wanted to go The para River one first because that has just been renovated and you were allowed to do like kayaking and paddle boarding on it.
@captainfrank01 ok then I definitely can't do that then cos I got flatable paddle boards that you can turn them into kayaks. Well if it's gonna go down artificial gonna die. Doug and Frank will hope you enjoy your lovely day it camping I'm off to West Lakes to do some snorkeling and some paddle boarding kayaking.
If you get a fishing permit Sam, the conditions (what you can and cannot do) are clearly stated - maybe read that, it will answer all your questions. In regards to eating the fish, I only catch and release and believe that should be the situation for all stocked waters - if you want eating fish, go to a supermarket or a fish shop. IMO there are much better eating fish than what you can catch here anyway.
daja vu, getting the net under the fish just as the line breaks, 2 weeks ago it happened with my partners PB, 11 lbs carp, can be lucky sometimes. great vid fellas
Haha, spot on, he wore the white T shirt because of the heat (clearly the extra sponsorship decal on the back would have made him too hot 😁). We only used worms this trip and apparently we don't have a worm sponsor yet, so I'll get him onto it.
Didn’t bring corn Lou as there are no carp (as far as we know) in Bundaleer although sometimes silver perch will nobble them 😳 there will be an announcement next trip on the success of the sponsorship deal🤣😂🤣
WOW That was fantastic. I enjoyed every second of it. Some magnificent fish and lots of laughs. Well done..
I'm watching part 2 now.
Thanks Robbie, it was a great session for us both. Makes a nice change to catch something other than carp!
Looks like a fun day was had, definitely a great change from the usual carping. Cheers guys.

That chair gave me more grief next day Sam and Franks primitive solution 😂😂😂

Kayaking yes, paddleboarding I don't think so - they don't want people (falling) in the water

Very grateful to Frank that he was concentrating for a change and it was a PB for me at 5lb my previous was half that... ATB 👍
Good first day Frank, some good fish, it got even better next morning. 🐳🐳

You call them 'immersive', I call them painful. I would have made a lot of $'s out of Doug this trip 😂
What for swearing... bit hard Frank 😜

Thanks! Yep, that was a lucky break, I couldn't have dealt with Doug's tantrum if I had stuffed it up!

Where's your sponsors shirt Douge, you're not doing much for the brand. Gold an black corn for those who forgot the tin of green corn.
