Excellent, I loved them both. 2 excellent videos. Doug is so funny. His "rustic" chair cracked me up. Haha Or the first video "Make sure you get my best side... There isn't one". 😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks! Yeah, we have a lot of fun and heaps of 'larfs' as Doug calls them every time we go out - two guys with similar warped senses of humour that bounce of each other very readily! We really enjoyed the trip and caught some really nice (proper) fish for a change!
Glad you enjoyed it Robbie, we had a lovely 2 days and I’ve got a new chair for next year 👍 sad thing was when I was on the floor Frank threw rocks at me 😂😂😂 instead of helping the old boy up!
@ I was just joking, no insult intended. I imagine I’d have said worse if I’d lost that big silver and would’ve been arrested for lunacy if I’d caught one of those massive perch.
@@glenbaker4024 No worries, I know you were kidding Glen, Doug will get a laugh out of it too! His new nickname is now officially PMP 😂 Thanks for the ammunition.
Was out for a paddle on South Para reservoir yesterday and omg the flys, same Up side I suppose is you wouldn't need to bring bait if you were bait fishing xD
Thanks Sam! Doug says he is taking out a patent on the custom made rock seat - will be available at any dodgy garden centre from the New Year - comes with a complimentary Fist Aid kit 😎
Actually Sam when I trod on it initially to straighten the bent leg I thought “ what would Sam do” and did that, that’s why it ultimately snapped... so its your fault 😂😂😂
Wasn't that a great fish? We are hoping that all the other big ones haven't ended up on dinner plates because they were by far the most numerous species caught in previous trips. So which ol fella are you referring to lol?
Hi there Mark! Callop (aboriginal name) in South Australia, but called Golden Perch or Yellowbelly in other states, so a native perch and yes, they do look a bit like your bass. We love to have a 'larf' when we go fishing together! Looks like you've had some pretty bad weather the last few days, I bet that slowed down the fishing.
francolinobasco - You are in UK? The Callop, or Golden Perch is no relation to the American Bass, closely related to the Australian Bass. They are part of the Macquaria family which includes the Macquarie Perch, the Estuary Perch and the Australian Bass, which is almost indistinguishable from the EP. However it does not include the Silver Perch, Bidyanus bidyanus, which is related to the Grunter family. The English Perch, Perca fluviatalis, is likewise not related to our perch other than being "perciform", a classification that includes a large percentage of teleost fish. However, the native fish reminded the settlers of things back home so they gave them familiar names. Our Cod is a freshwater fish, our bream is a saltwater estuarine species.
@@captainfrank01 Cheers for the information Frank, oh heavens we have had a battering for sure mate wind and rains, I have not been out as of yet though as still on the mend, but soon all being well and by heck am i missing it. Although it has allowed me to catch up on other things, like videos.
A ‘red letter’ couple of sessions Frank, I can’t remember a time when I’ve had so many quality fish (and lost so many either) and even though we are allowed to take 2 fish each, they all went back so that others can enjoy like we did! Sorry about the swearing but I get a bit excited when I see fish that size...😊
Haha Doug, you're forgiven - completely ran out of bleeps .... again! It certainly was a great trip and it's good that they all went back, look forward to another visit in a while.
Doug, I thought you were extremely restrained. If I had dropped a silver like that, I would still be swearing profusely. Nicely done on the next one though. A proper slob of a fish.
@@AndrewFishman You should have heard what he said off camera ..... Yes it was and the only one we landed, not quite sure why we got so many callop and so few silvers
Thanks Andrew for your normal intelligent comments... not being a NATURAL You Tube star I keep forgetting that “he’s” filming and my mouth gets the better of me... I must say that Frank isn’t a shrinking violet either when he misses a bite, makes me shudder 😂😂😂
Nice. Don't know if you're aware or not but camping in Victoria in National Parks is free from beginning of Dec. to June. We're going to be doing a trip to the Glenelg River in March next year so it will work out a bit cheaper now. Some really nice spots around there and the camp we're staying at only has 4 sites so won't be too busy. Cheers.
Thanks! No, wasn't aware of that but a good initiative. I may or may not head back to Victoria in that time frame but thanks for the heads up. Enjoy Glenelg River, it's a lovely spot.
Trying to find the campsite your referenced whilst you were up there but I'm struggling to find it. Maybe I misheard what you said. I would appreciate it if you could let me know the name of it. Cheers.

"Rustic" is definitely worth the inflated price, if for no other reason than you get a good laugh when it falls apart on the user's first attempt at using it.
