Dude, the beauty of this project/comment can't be measured. Scenario: You have a top-down RTS style command and view of a Halo game (Like Halo Wars). You have marines and rocket teams and scorpions at your disposal. three to four of your buddies are Spartans, in first person, real time. You can call in Pelicans to give them lifts, send squads of marines to fight with them, send the three of them to kill the Scarab that would otherwise wreck your army.... why is this not a thing?

holy shit. Im waiting for Jagged Alliance in Arma 3 with this baby
I'v been playing around with this and so far really fuckin cool! Gets a little slow with a full squad, so i been just using 4 man teams + mabe a marksman to put on high ground if the situation me gives that option. Its really fun to slowly clear out small compounds with NVGs and suppressed weapons using this. Kinda gives the player that Zero Dark Thirty feel.

Scale up the map (a shitload) and units, give them morale, add a turn based strategy element, mix in geopolitics and boom: Total War - Modern Era
Blue I found a ARMA 3 mod I saw videos on it and thought it was pretty cool. It's called East vs West mod. It' based on Cold War era Russia vs America. It has old russian equipment like 80's russian uniform and 80's rangers for America. Really cool thought you may like it.

so is this the closest thing to combining tactics, strategy, and reflexive gameplay one? action RTS games already exist and they are pretty good, but they seem to lack the tactical component. tactical shooters like arma and swat are also good but the lack the strategy component as seen here. I just want it all!!
If anything, I'd like to see Arma 3's sequel, but IN SPACE! and with RTS mode.

I really like the concept, but as long as its not as fast or faster than voice commands like VAC voice command for Arma 3. Then I dont really see the main draw.

For selecting everybody try default "f1, f2, f3 and, the button under the escape" not sure if it works.. just idea

I'm going to be honest this video is four years old, so I can fairly confidently say this isn't a particularly current representation of the kindof person I am at the moment.
