In my opinion, you cannot beat Husqvarna products. My chainsaws (gas and electric), lawn tractor, edge trimmer, limb trimmer, lawn dethatcher, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, weed whacker, and my dirt bike (Husqvarna 450 WR) all Husqvarna. Need to add this axe to my collection.
This is my primary go-to axe for camping or bushcraft chores, another axe that I commonly use is an iltis oxhead 35" felling axe 1/4" 2.5lb head.. I am from Canada and there are many axe makes sold in any small town or urban centre stores.. you can find council tool or garant axe models almost anywhere
To be honest the husky is as good the steel and heat treat is similar. The difference seems to be in the sheets possibly handle material material but not always. I think the biggest difference in price is because they don't have the volumeIn the high end stuff and they also take longer to forge each head not that it's necessarily that much better
Bought the full collection of axes, forest axe, carpenter axe, camp axe, for the same price as the gransfors bruks small forest axe in UK. They are made by the same company! Finish the handles yourself, if you want the grinds to look pretty like the gransfors spend half hour on the axe and have the same so called quality. Hultafors have the exact same axes! They have gone up in price. Hults bruks in US. You have the same axe in your hand. The only difference is the top of the head is slightly curved. Don't get sucked into the GB bull!
I modified my mask. Mine didn’t have a welt to protect the cutting edge. I drilled out the rivets put in a welt and stitched it back to the original shape. I love my husqvarna multipurpose axe! That’s what it’s called now. Mine was $69.00 in Oklahoma USA.
that's a really awesome find buddy. Im in the same boat as you, I use only axes I have restored or a fiskars x7. hard to find anything decent here for reasonable prices. that's a real Canadian axe, a nice 26in heavy hitter perfect for the forests we got
Yea I here, I'll take what I can get, maybe someday pay for a Granfors... but for now I am happy! Fiskars can get the job done, but it is not the same... I loved mine... :)
Husqvarna Axes are Hultafors axes that have not been thru final finish, so they are forged the same, in the same factory, rough sharpened, and either stamped 'husqvarna' and sent out, or stamped 'Hultafors' and sent for hand sharpening, polishing etc. So they are awesome for the money, if you put a few hours in cleaning them up.
Good Video , really liked the Intro ............. I have been looking into getting the Husqvarna Carpenters Axe 19" , Just a little something to carry with me , Thanks for the review that helps me out on my decision 👍
Something I use for my axes and machetes is the Smith's Axe and Machete sharpener. Really good for fast field sharpening and inexpensive ($9.99 USD). To put a razor sharp finish, I use a Lansky puck stone and then a leather strop. I rarely shave with my axes (lol) so the Smith's works fine.
i could do with an axe with a longer handle, thanks for sharing. Also, I have just filmed a very similar video (even sat on a bushcraft bench), it'll upload in a cpl of weeks, don't want you to think I'm copying haha ATB - Andy
Yea, small seasoned wood and medium to small unseasoned. I would imagine real splitting for your furnace might be a bit too much for it. Great for bushcraft and not overly heavy. AS WELL, not as expensive as the big dogs, but very good quality!!

They do seem to make reliable products. I am really enjoying their axes for sure! :)

Wow thats good know. I do love the 2 I have! Thanks for the info.
if you get an old enough one they used to be made by Wetterlings (those are hens teeth rare, so good luck)
My husq was already hand polished and factory sharpened so I dunno

I bought the hatchet as well. It is great as well.
I bought the same axe a few months ago and love it. P.S. I just subbed your channel. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. - Jeremy
Thanks man I appreciate it! Will head over to check out your channel!!!

The Smiths one I have works well, but I have since learned to sharpen with stones! It is not my favorite thing to do but it does the trick!

Haha, never a worry about copying. There are too many of us to worry about it lol! Thanks for the comment! :)
Council tool has great quality for a good price and you can get many sizes
👍👍👍🤝💣
I tried a few different books and I would rather have 3 huskies than one Brooks
Nice Review. Now that you've had it awhile, do you still like it?
Of course it's an excellent axe and at $65 CAD is the best deal for a quality axe ever.
It’s a great axe, over here in Germany it’s like 50€
Love my axe.Not too pricey but a great axe overall!
Is this axe good for splitting?

Thanks for your reply, great video 👍
