I used to wear a belt as tightly as I could, and still couldn't keep my pants up. I turned to suspenders. Never going back. Not having to pull up my pants saves a lot of frustration and wasted time. I should have done it years ago, and not waited until my 40's. Still, I love them and am not going back, but I'll admit, I'm not working with the belt you are. You have made a wise move.
Im grabbing a set of those suspenders for my framer bags, I had the bags on my suspenda-vest but I had to grab some smaller oxy bags, felt too bulky on the vest, hopefully the suspenders will solve my issue.
I have the stronghold and the nylon ones. And I have the hip buddies on one of my belts. They are great and take about a week to form to your shoulders. Will not go without anymore.
A Woodworker's Life - no doubt, I still have my framing belt from 25 years ago and it is still going strong! No doubt the long-term for these suspenders will be the same.
Awesome video! I'm just getting into the trades and I've heard suspenders will really help preventing wearing out your body so id like to get them while I'm young. After a year are they still holding up good?
I just ordered my first O.L suspenders from Amazon. I would get neck pain from wearing fall protection harness with my work belt so hopefully these suspenders will be more comfortable
Yes, more comfortable than a standard fall protection harness. I’ve not used one of the padded fall protection harnesses so I can’t really comment on that. It took a couple days to get used to them but they are a big win for me. My only complaint is how stiff they are for the first month.
Nice review on the suspenders. I have some awp suspenders on my tool belt, but I’m thinking of upgrading to the all leather suspenders or the set with the padding. Which set would you recommend?
Edgar Ojeda I’m really pleased with my 5009 ones. I can’t really comment on the others as I’ve not tried them. Do you live somewhere warm? Some of the other setups out there look like they would trap a lot of body heat.
A Woodworker's Life I live in Los Angeles. Only hot out here during the summer or whenever there’s a heatwave. I’ve heard both sets are really good but the set with the padding makes it way more comfortable to wear
Edgar Ojeda yeah that does make sense. Up north here we are wearing more than a T shirt 9 months the of the year so there’s a little extra padding right there in the clothing.
I think you’re right. If I had the option to do it over again I would try those ones first. These ones are pretty good but I wish they had the back section that the 5055 has.

That's great to hear that they are working well over the long run, thanks.

Thanks Wigit. Yes, they're doing good. The first few weeks they are pretty stiff but then they start to break in.
Soak the loops in some weather just to get them on when they dry it will form back to the belt
Are these more comfortable than a fall protection harness?

I just ordered a pair and I’m not a fan.
Why, what's the issue?
Can they fit anyone? Can they fit short people?
I’m really not sure about how well universally they fit. I’m pretty average sized.
Soak the leather loops in water for 15 minutes then pull on them a bit then try and slide it on.
Great tip, thanks.
Why they so fucking hard to adjust lol
250 dollar suspenders on a 25 dollar belt
100$ not 250 “Think before you speak “
5055 is better
