The thing I love most about the Prof is that is so human, so real, so down to earth. He DOES miss shots. People DO score on him sometimes. But he's so skilled and cares so much about his craft that he is usually coming out on top. Humble either way. But THIS video... holy shit. When he's on, he's on. You can just tell he was feelin it. Clean execution on everything. Great effort by the competitors, but this dude is just too much.

This professor guy must have practiced all day every day for years to get that good. Nobody sees all that stuff. More power to him for his success.
Practice and conditioning go hand in hand, and practice is a great way to help maintain conditioning. Dedication is the glue that holds it together, so the question is "how bad ya want it?"
I feel like some people don't know his history, just in case you didn't I'll fill you in. The Professor used to play in an underground league call "And 1 (Streetball)", so a lot of local communities know about him.
You can find a lot of his highlight reels by searching "And1 Streetball".

A guy who has "natural ability" might not have to work as hard or long to get really good, but just about anyone who wants it badly enough and is willing to put in the time and effort can be really good. Certainly two guys can both give 100%, and one is better than the other, but they can probably play in the same league. I'm not convinced aptitude or "natural ability" is so much a thing you're born with as a thing you develop based on early interests. I was told I was a "natural" on bikes, but the truth is that I had my ass glued to a bicycle seat from the time I could walk, and I was comfortable enough to be very confident mostly due to time spent on the seat. My first time on a motorcycle, I felt right at home... People said I had that "natural ability," but I really don't think it is something I was born with. I think how far you can go in developing any skill is mostly about how early you start and how hard you go. To really be good at something, training should begin when you are very young. You can still become really good with a later start, but the very best will generally have started the youngest, and I think that is what we refer to as "natural ability."

I get that. Being tall is an advantage in bball. I'm not sure a physical advantage classifies as an ability, though. I've seen a lot of tall guys that suck at bball, and some short guys that are pretty good.

It's nice to see the Professor inspire people. A lot of people look up to him and are inspired to work on themselves because of him.
I think (just my opinion) that he inspires more positive change through his videos way more than if he were to be in the NBA.
I've watched a lot of his videos and I see people are inspired by him, people want to play him, people want him to train them and appreciate the lesson. People are excited by him.
If you can inspire positive change in the world while doing what you love, then you are doing something right.

When my son was about 11 years old he entered a Jaycee Relay Race. He’d never ran track before and didn’t know everybody wore shorts. He came in jeans, to everyone’s amusement. He ran the last leg for his team - and came away the fastest runner of the day, and made up considerable distance to win. This video made me think of that day. How I wish I had been able to see it, instead of only hear and read about it. I was a single mom and had to work. My son was an amazing athlete. ❤️
