Niagara Falls is incredible. I used to go annually but it’s been a few years now. Doesn’t matter how many times I see it, I’m always moved when it comes into full view. Just breathtaking. Great way to end that vlog (the Falls, not that skeavy room!).
Epic adventure and extraordinary friendships. You are so adept at showing exactly what it’s all like and describing and sharing it all and it really lets us into your experience . I did feel sorry for Brett at one point being filmed looking sleepy in the back lol . I’m thinking my first America/Canada trip will be a cedar fair premium pass situation. I love your big car . I’m 6ft 3 so appreciate extra legroom and a raised driving position but appreciate the tip about fuel usage. My ex lives in Ajax near Toronto . I suppose I’d have to call in (he’s got a new partner) I hope I can hide any envy or weird feelings though . I remember going to Thorpe park with him when there was hardly anything there. In fact it was nicer in those days (as a place to visit) it hadn’t found its identity yet and felt more spacious and quirky. You’re looking so much better in this vlog . Bright eyed and bushy tailed . That last hotel was a bit rough eh ?

I know this is a super old VLOG but just coming across it. I actually find this all a bit more interesting than the park VLOGs . Places you stay. Your travels across my country as I live in Indiana and grew up going to Holiday World (Santa Claus Land as I remembered it), Kings Island and Cedar Point. Washington DC is a non-amusement park amusement park. Great places to visit and historic museums coming out of everywhere. I hope I’m the future when you make a trip to the US you can do more traveling between amusement parks because if you are driving…. There is so much more to see. Thanks Shawn!
I’m headed to Phantasialand tomorrow for my second trip. Last time I can get there before they close for maintenance at the end of this month. Perks of being stationed here with the military. I’m super excited to share my new favorite park with a co-worker who has never been. (My first love though is Indiana Beach. My “hometown park🤷🏼♂️”. I grew up at that park while my dad was head of maintenance. You need to ride “Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain”. A woodie like none other. 👍🏻

The reason it was so quiet in DC is because you all were in the tourist and government sections of DC. Which all pretty much close at 6pm as far as the tons of museums and parks. DC is a huge city and traffic and crowd levels are notorious during the day. You have to go away from the tourist traps to find people late at night. The purge noise you heard happens on our TVs and radios from time to time for awareness in the case of an actual emergency 🚨. There are lots of toll roads in America but mainly in cities to get you from one part to another. If you don’t have cash for whatever reason to pay a toll. The attendant will get your license plate and mail you the toll bill. And yes the U.S. being the U.S. likes to separate themselves from other countries with boarders unlike Europe or the UK. Typically with cheaper low budget hotels you don’t get quick fast check-ins. With the big brands like Hilton, Marriott etc. you can sometimes check in and out with your phone 📱. And the 401 highway in Toronto is known for the most notorious traffic and is the busiest highway in North America. And please please always check under your beds at any hotel no matter if it’s budget or non budget for bed bugs. And I would’ve asked for another room. Great videos guys!

for tolls you use a prepaid toll system that is quite easy to use just buy it attach to a card you use and stick it on the windshield. every rest stop and gas station has these. you can blow through tolls quickly. use the pass lanes for that. it automatically takes the toll from your card no waiting no stopping just going. in florida its a sunpass or epass but every state calls it something different but its the same system.

Just an FYI the new Chrysler minivans Pacifica get great gas mileage, I got 28 mpg for a 1000 mile trip to Disney World, also the seats fold flat so you can sleep in the back.

I know I'm late to this video. When my dad used to travel, he would take disinfecting fabric spray with him to his hotels. It's a good idea when you go to places like the one you went to in Niagra Falls.

You could of parked in preferred parking at Kings Dominion since you had the platinum pass. All platinum passholders get free preferred parking there but it looked like a low crowd day so I imagine it didn't make a difference anyway
If I could give one piece of advice if you ever come back to the Midwest amusement parks. Hit up 6 flags near Chicago. (Not sure their name), Indiana Beach and Michigan’s adventure. Then maybe some museums in the region. I’m between Kings Island and Cedar Point is Dayton. Home of the United States Air Force Museum. An adventure unto itself. Took me 2 days to go through it. 🤷🏼♂️
Shawn, the hotel looked pretty bad, but when I went to japan and the last hotel I slept in, was a smoking hotel. It smelled awefully, and I'm not even that sensitive about smoke. But it didn't wasn't Ok!!! And Roomrefresher didn't help at all. BUT in the "bath area" it didn't smell so bad, so I went into the bathtub (whithout water). After that night I was DEAD!!!!!!!!!!! So I'm not shure, but I think my room was worse.
We ended up with a Nissan Armada on a trip to Texas (I am from Philadelphia) in April 2019 (I wonder if you ended up with the same exact one? 🤷🏻♂️). Anyway, nice ride - but the gas mileage absolutely sucked! Terrible. Even for an SUV it was awful. And it’s a Japanese brand which is a real head-scratcher.
You might be the first person to get to Kennywood without getting lost... Kennywood can tend to be the most confusing park to ever get to. Although, you were coming in from the east I imagine. Coming from Ohio is an absolute nightmare.
I was wondering..did you book a room at home or did you book a room on the same day you wanted to stay or a day before? We are going for 5 weeks next year and i am thinking is it wise to book beforehand or do it online. And how did it work for you in the states with booking rooms last minute.
Your were actually on rankin bridge when going into kennywood and to get into park easier next time when you come after you get off that bridge stay in right lane theirs a turn off after the redlight by speedy gas station!
real shame you didnt get to do the maid of the mist tour boat at Niagara Falls or to go down into the caves behind the falls and stand out on the ledge and feel the power of the water rush past you. it is single handidly the most amazing experience ive had outside of the birth of my child.

Looking at your route, why didn't you go to Dollywood from Indiana, then do the Ohio parks after Kennywood?
Well, it was planned early. I think they were trying to get Kennywood as late as possible because opening day of Steel Curtain wasn’t announced yet.
We planned the route on various different factors, hoping for Steel Curtain was one of them!
Which Busch Gardens do you think is better Shawn? I prefer the Williamsburg one but I’d love to hear your opinion.
