Scooby Doo Yeah farmers need pickups bla bla bla... The vast majority of trucks are owned by regular people in the city to go for grocery shopping or driving to school. That‘s why we make fun of the whole American truck thing. We all get that pickups are very useful for certain professions, but like 99% of them are completely useless cause the owners just want a big fat car, they probably never do anything in life that actually requires a truck. In the US alone, every 54 seconds a F150 gets sold. Now compare that to the number of farmers and other people who actually need them. It‘s absolutely ridiculous to watch the soccer mums struggling with their trucks at Walmart because they desperately wanted a house on wheels instead of a proper car. People who rent guns out can and should be picky about who they rent them to. Not saying that the no anti-war or anti-Bush is a criteria I agree with, but the principle of the owners having a say in who rents from them doesn’t seem unreasonable. And there isn’t just one place in the whole country to rent from and there is no actual law about what statements a movie can make. The first amendment should guarantee that. This is just an anecdote and could even be partially made up just for humor. I think Clarkson likes to say things to provoke people and get a reaction. You might be hearing just the reaction part of the anecdote and not what Jeremy said to the person to provoke it. Or it could have been just a joke. Plenty of movies have used rented guns to make anti-war statements. Probably most anti-war movies have. So this just doesn’t sound 100% legit to me. @@God-mb8wi Really? You think freedom is being forced to rent things to people who are creating a message that is antithetical to your own personal values? The supreme court of the United States has decided on this and found in favor of the business.
@@deezynar No, not that. Your statement, what you say--doesn't comply with the idea of freedom. It's in an entirely different genre of values. It has nothing to do with freedom is what I'm saying. I don't know why you intrinsically linked them. For instance: fascists could say, "Our guns, our rules"--that wouldn't be freedom. Okay, so a well-meaning altruist says "my gun, my rules", that may be in-line with values emphasizing freedom, but it's still disconnected. It's very hard to explain, it's a linguistic argument.

I love him, but I wouldn’t recommend you learn about other cultures solely from Jeremy Clarkson. It’s just his style of humor.
@@God-mb8wi Really? You think freedom is being forced to rent things to people who are creating a message that is antithetical to your own personal values? The supreme court of the United States has decided on this and found in favor of the business.
@@deezynar
No, not that.
Funny, when I went to England customs asked me he exact same thing. Work or pleasure. I answered honestly, work, and oh was that a mistake. Same question in every country I’ve gone to. (Only about 6 but the rest were for mostly pleasure)
Don't tell the English you're there for pleasure - they'll laugh.
High quality interviewing from Jonathan Ross, just the right mix of seriousness and banter . . .

Funny how his tune changed after that Amazon Prime money haha
As an American, Jeremy is the most American person on top gear. He is the classic example of upperclass American. He is opinionated, excessively confident (entitled), and hates Americans. The man should run for president
“In a few years time I expect that we’ll see you driving a rechargeable electric car” - Prescient. Clarkson couldn’t have spoken of the electric McClaren P1 more highly.
And now we have the P1 mclaren
Now? That thing is like 7 years old
So fucking what!!! go and correct someone else
It's still a no!
McLaren still has an internal combustion engine, but principle stands tho. The Rimac is basically insane

The Toyota Prius is practically a jump ramp, just a big ramp I can jump my car with.

@Dung Nguyen Manh which is better? Multiple small inefficient powerplants or few very big ones? Which is better? Pollution moves with the vehicle or pollution comes from few big ones?
@@MarkWright1963 I'm aware you moron. I'm just talking about how funny it is they mention the idea of EVs being long away but now were in that age.
I totally agree with jeremy on the climate
