Its vibranium, a metal stronger than anything in the universe. When Thor hit caps shield in Avengers 1, he got knocked back due to the shields durability and strength. When Thanos broke it in endgame, the writers went to such lengths to show us he hit the shield at an angle, not at its center, which fractured the structure, and in turn, allowed it to crack then break. The Russos already confirmed that Thanos was holding back massively against the Avengers in Infinity War ever since he sacrificed Gamora. The reason Thanos did not obliterate Tony with the Power Stone was because he wanted to pay respect to Stark. Even without using any of the stones, Thanos was tearing up Tony's suit as if it was made of Dorittos and himself claimed that he could wipe out an entire universe with a single snap. There is also the fact that Stomrbreaker was specifically designed to counteract the Infinity Gauntlet and the Russos confirmed that Thanos was not aware of this fact and could have beaten Thor in numerous other ways. We never got to see how formidable Thanos truly was with the gauntlet and the Russos confirmed that Uru is stronger than Vibranium.

Dr. Strange gave him a real run for his money in the Film, but still lost, so if the circumstances changed with Thor being there, know that would be an Epic Battle.
Supreme Strange would body Thanos. He ate a galaxy sized explosion. He spend hundreds of years absorbing creatures. Infinity Ultron casually killed Infinity War thanos, BEFORE the stones. And Strange Supreme was keeping up with him AND supporting the multiversal avengers at the same time. No doubt he would easily defeat Endgame/Infinity war thanos. His feats are just way too good.
I feel that Starks Gauntlet was more powerful then Thanos gauntlet when hulk snapped the gauntlet held up very well I'm wondering it's it because vibrainium absorbs energy and disappates it and Ouru doesn't do the same the gauntlet after Thanos made his snap was nearly destroyed due to the energy of the stones.
I heard somewhere that starks Gauntlet could manage to hold the stones but it was very unstable, not as easy to control the stones powers, as high tech as it is.
Stormbreaker was formed using power of a star through Thor. Stormbreaker is an extension of Thor himself and likely gained some of its power from the power being channeled through Thor. The gauntlet is limited by its size compared to the full body of Ultron.

@@justwatching4002 so that is your argument? Watch again. Ultron decimated the planet with a huge explosion. Strange reverses the action causing it to revert to a tiny glow of energy and swallows it. If he had swallowed the soul stone, it would not have been present immediately after outside of him again with no showing or explaining of why the stone was no longer swallowed by strange. Him swallowing the stone would no have gotten the "Wait, what?" Response from ultron because any idiot could swallow the stone and wouldn't surprise him in that manner. However a being powerful enough to reverse his attack and swallow it like nothing could shock even the likes of ultron. I don't blame you because ot can be easy to mistake this on first veiwing. But if this was the case, Ulton would have to kill strange to get the stone back, it wouldn't just magically appear outside of Strange. Someone would have to remove it from his possession like t'challa did to Ultron. Strange clearly swallowed the explosion and his eyes glowing were either because of the explosion, or the magic he used to absorb said explosion. I'm leaning toward the lattet.
And one of the Thor's Odin said to Thor you're the God of Thunder not the god of hammers I wonder if Stormbreaker is not as strong as we think but Thor got supercharged by the star when they were making Stormbreaker that's why it can stand up to the power of the Infinity Stones but later when he fights Thanos it seems weaker
Not to mention Stormbreaker uses a lot more uru than the gauntlet. If ya'll remember from Guardians of the Galaxy, the stones can be placed on a staffed weapon. So imagine if you placed the infinity stones on Stormbreaker itself!
I believe that infinity ultrons suit was made of vibranium and Uru making it superior to if it was made from either. Notice the dust that floats alongside the infinity stones before the armor appears the dust floats around his chest then he absorbs it to create the armor
I think it is still debatable as to whether or not Thanos was versed enough at wielding the power of all the stones against threats in various forms. It is fair to say that after he acquired the space stone at the beginning of Infinity War, his conquest became a holy one, and he was not quite set on doing battle and massacres as he had been doing all along. His disrobed himself of his armor and became the most powerful person in the universe, sans 4 stones. He was notably caught off-guard to the threat of Thor after he got Vision's stone, so did he know how to conquer what was coming at him? If the snap caused such destruction to the gauntlet - which was an immense task in nature - then would he or could he have withheld some of that power to nullify Stormbreaker? If he used the full power of the stones, though it was just "Thor with an axe", would it have risked the integrity of the gauntlet to pull off the intended snap which came a moment later from a visibly weakened physical body? Though Thor missed the mark at avenging Thanos, he had become invincible with rage, and his impact was likely the most note-worthy effort to try to stop Thanos next to Tony who was using a "high-tech prosthesis". Left alone, Tony has no power of the Gods save for a tactical mind in making the best use of weapons. Almost every avenger was donned with enhanced gear, thanks to Tony's brilliance and invention. But, I think Thor eclipsed him by just a little to take the VIP title of Infinity War.
TBH i think Thanos actually did die when Thor hit him with Stormbreaker. The first thing you see after the snap is Thanos himself waking up in the soul realm, and he meets Gamorra as a child. I think Thanos died, but some force returned him back to life. Mistress Death probably, from the comics.
I honestly believe that infinity ultron should be thrown out of the conversation. The show has explained that different infinity stones from different universe have different properties. The most likely scenario is that infinity ultrons stones are more controlable or are stronger than the main MCU stones
I sort of think Uru has the same limited capicities with vibranium ,just different quallites. Since the vibranium is everywhere on utlron's body the stones's power might be spread acorss it rather than being confined to just a small part of the hand which from my point of view allows more power.
Can Hela break stormbreaker and the infinity gauntlet too though? or did the mjolnir became less durable because of Odin's death? Hela can create necroswords easily too, which can kill even gods, can necrosword break the uru weapons too?
The gauntlet does seem to destroy whoever wears it. Meaning it’s almost so strong it’s unweildable by most in a way that utilizes the potential leaving it weaker than other things. It makes sense. Like nukes don’t mean shit if you can’t use ‘em without destroying yourself. It’s more of a scare tactic knowing someone self destructive might just use them with a death wish and no regard for their own life. It’s definitely stronger but in a counter productive way. Maybe Odin realized gathering all the stones would be useless and only be a bigger danger seeing others could take them more easily than if they had to collect them all.
It's Purpose is to deal with energy. Thanks didn't use any specific functions for the stones thus playing into directly what Thor needed. Thanks could easily have used any specific function to stop stormbreaker.
Now I start to imagine what they might have stored for Thor in future MCU movies if Storm Breaker is this powerful… Rune King Thor, Cosmic King Thor what not
I was under the impression that the gauntlet held up just fine to the first snap, but was destroyed in the process of snapping to destroy the stones themselves…
If the Stormbreaker is just as powerful as the Infinity Gauntlet, then is it capable of unleashing the worldwide thunderstorm when it reached its fullest potential?
i always assumed it was because it takes a while to get used to having all the stones and thanos also has to concentrate so his mind and body don't just collapse from the sheer power of weilding them. thanos in endgame had no stones while fighting thor (with stormbreaker), cpt america (with mjolnir) and ironman at the same time. stormbreaker could only beat the gauntlet in infinity war because thanos was just getting used to it. same in endgame when cpt marvel swooped in and tried to stop thanos from snapping his fingers just seconds after he got the ironman gauntlet.
The way I saw it. Stormbreaker is made of the same material, by the same person that built the gauntlet. This gave Stormbreaker and the Dwarf the edge in building a weapon to face his other weapon. Then there is magic, a Force that's strength is beyond incredible in the MCU, and in the comics. Thor showed his sheer will, determination, and durability when he helped forge Stormbreaker. He also showed Stormbreaker his heart at this moment. Then you have Groot, who comes form an ancient and powerful race. He willingly gave of his own flesh to finish forging, and to set the pieces of the Axe and hammer together. This was a sacrifice of his flesh, and show of selflessness that showed Stormbreak Groots heart. A weapon born of the sacrifice from two pure of heart and powerful beings, made of Uru. Forged in the heat of a dying star. Tempered in the great dwarven Forge. designed to do great things, and designed by one that had vengeance in his heart. Molded Stormbreaker into a "Thanos Killing Weapon." I don't know if Thor is as powerful as Odin. He only just barely discovered his full potential. Odin has eons to explore his own power. But i do believe in time Thor could become more powerful than Odin. Lets just remember though. One of the reason Thanos didn't attack until he did, was because Odin was still alive. the Jatari were a scouting force, to see what Earth had on hand. But Thanos knew while Odin lived, he any full on attack against Earth or "Midgar" would result in Odin's wrath, and Asgard coming to Earth's defense. This is also why Thanos weakened the Asgard that were left on that ship. He knew they could become a threat if he left them alive. But not to break his own principle he left half of their already depleted numbers alive.
This doesn’t go into the fact that the gauntlet is just a single piece of the infinity armor set, or that there are more than 6 different infinity stones. The infinity armor wasn’t made for mortals. Thanos explains this when his son puts on the entire suit of armor in Marvel’s Ultimate Alliance 3.
I thought stormbreaker and Thor was super synced because of how Thor had to hold the gate very essence of Thor is burned into the metal that made stormbreaker no weapon is stronger and no other man's hands
That don’t make sense. The guantlet is just a housing for the stones. The stone themselves are the powerful items… not the guantlet. The guantlet is just what is used to harness those power. Just like how ultron uses his armor to harness the stones.
You said the stones cant be used directly but in and game thanos used a stone directly by pulling it out of the gauntlet and used it to punch Marvel out of her shoes
Thanos dropped the power stone out and hit captain marvel proving the point that he didn’t need the gauntlet to channel the stones power through the metal.
Stormbreaker was forged in a way anyone could do it. Literally Thor held the iris open to heat the metal, Eitri just poured it into the mold then smashed it open and ran away looking for the handle. He didnt do anything special, at least in the MCU, to forge the weapon. You could say Groot had more of a role than Eitri in forging stormbreaker. Or that since the blast from the star filtering through Thor as it heated the metal is what game it special properties. In either case Eitri "forging" both isnt a good argument.
Great video but you forgot the best piece of evidence. Thanos remove one of the stones to punch Captain Marvel. Why would you do this if you could just simply use more power through the gauntlet. The answer is you wouldn't unless they don't like can't use any more power without destroying itself and you know that. I'm pretty sure he did because he never destroyed the gauntlet up until the point where he snapped, when it wouldn't matter anymore, the deed is done.
Your explanations where good but you forgot one more factor the thor that fought ultron in what if wasn’t even in his prime plus Mjönir is confirmed to be weaker than storm breaker I think it really matters of the user’s strenght but your theory could be right also
Wanna know a scary thought? Ultron could have used the Reality Stone to make a new metal that could harness *even more* power and make his suit out of that. He just didn’t.
Because he didn't know of any. To create something stronger than that, he'd need to have a complete understanding of how the strongest metal is formed on a molecular level in order to shape it into existence.
@@airport_chickentenders2572 Mind Stone takes care of that tho, with all of the stones channeled he should become essentially, if not fully, Omniscient aka “All Knowing”. And if that doesn’t work and the metal is indeed totally fictitious even to him, he can bend any and all laws of nature to his liking using the Reality Stone in order to make a new metal with the desired properties a physical possibility, then use it again to materialize it into an armor. The stones are just beyond broken enough that something like this would be easy for Ultron if he so much as tried. That or the stones are even more nerfed from their original forms in the comics.
@@nomadsland8322 No one to have ever had contact with the all stones was Omniscient. All six stones doesn't give the user that. In the MCU, the person most capable of that feat is Strange. The mind stone only takes care of one aspect, mind. And reality can only be adjusted within the parameters of what is deemed reality by the user, which entails needing to find a source element stronger than Vibranium, Adamantium etc on Marvel Periodic table. The stones have their own limits as well, the mind of the person using them. The person will actually need to understand how to create something harder than the strongest elements.
The thing that confuses me most about stormbreaker is how nobody ever fights with it except Thor and Cap who also happen to be the only 2 capable of using mjolnier which to me is wierd because stormbreaker dident have the worthiness spell put on it (groot also technically lifts stormbreaker but I'm not sure if that actually counts)
Doesn't Thanos rip out the Power Stone to punch somebody with his right hand at some point? Is it still channeled through the gauntlet somehow or was that an oversight here?
In the comics uru metal can be fashioned "grey" or gold. In the comics Thor's hammer and The Destroyer armor at grey, Stormbreaker and Odin's spear are gold, and they are all made from uru.
Videos like these are why people state that common sense is not common anymore. Stating that the stones in the gauntlet have an upper limit and that Stormbreaker is more powerful than them is just a straight up joke. Are we just going to ignore the snap that happens literal SECONDS after Thanos gets hit with the axe? Or that the stones are infinitely powerful and that the snap was so powerful it damaged Thanos BECAUSE they are infinitely powerful? How about we take a look at the fact that Endgame explained that the snap sent a shockwave of unimaginable power across the universe. Stormbreaker is made of Uru, yes, but did you also look up what Uru does? It's literally explained that Uru was the chosen material because of its ability to absorb and distribute large amounts of energy. All Stormbreaker did was push the infinity stones power OUT OF THE WAY before hitting Thanos. If Thanos was actually TRYING to hurt someone, it wouldn't take much effort at all. It's clear in multiple scenes that he is trying NOT to hurt anyone because he wants the judgement of the Snap to be fair among everyone. This video is just a waste of time and of false information. Anyone even slightly paying attention will shoot all kinds of holes into this "theory" given by the directors, who are not the WRITTERS of the movie. Directors don't know the ins and outs, so taking their word is like believing Jesus will bring someone back to life after getting struck by lightening.
See that’s the issue, when considering a weapon I think of a solid one single item weapon. The Infinity Gauntlet is a combination of weapons. So ofcourse it would be OP but!!! Individually they are pretty much beatable as seen many times

It also gets people more engaged because your learn more from the story you’re interested in. Examining them helps you learn the meaning of what the story is telling you. @@thegreatgamingkid8252 reality vs fiction fiction can just be that way because it's written that way. If fiction was held to the same rules as real life alot of the beat movies and books of all time would be shit.
@@TheSingularitarian This would make sense if we questioned Ludacris's song in fast and furious 2. Mundane, nonsensical questions. But something as big as "Why did Thors new weapon go through all the stones?" is something absolutely worth explaining. It isnt about KNOWING EVERY SINGLE DETAIL OR DEATH. People are confused, or dont know why this is, since the stones should be stronger, as the story clearly has shown us. Boiling these questions down to an assumption of, "Cause people need explanations for everything just cause" is stupid. If we never asked questions, and just let shit happen on screen we would be watching peppa pig at the theatre but were not. Were watching a cinematic universe, which clearly reflects our own realistc world, with fantastical elements within it based off marvel characters weve seen in the comics. They all abide by our laws, and when something deviates, like why captain america is so strong, they show us its because of the serum. Why does captains shield block bullets? Its vibranium, a metal stronger than anything in the universe. When Thor hit caps shield in Avengers 1, he got knocked back due to the shields durability and strength. When Thanos broke it in endgame, the writers went to such lengths to show us he hit the shield at an angle, not at its center, which fractured the structure, and in turn, allowed it to crack then break. All these things are thought out by the people who work on these films, by only consuming blindly, we cant appreciate all the insane amount of details and work theyve added. Its a disservice to them, who have spent so much time making sense of the universe, when we ask, they give us an answer that theyve intended to work, that makes sense. Our questions aren't fruitless, they are to better understand the universe we love and its incredible detail these amazing people have spent years creating.
He wasn't holding back that much considering they almost took his glove off.
Actually Thanos made a promise to Dr. Strange to spare Tony so when he did the snap he spared Tony.
@@randybobandy9828 They said it wouldnt have mattered. What would they have done then? after getting it off. None of them match up to Thanos even without the gauntlet, theyd still lose
@@coldfireball6384 finally, people seem to forget how powerful Thanos actually is even without the gauntlet or infinity stones.
Yeah cause he was very held back when in Wakanda
He had like a lot 100 ways to kill them but just immobilized them
I think that’s a very poetic viewpoint… but it still bugs me that the alternate thanos was able to bat stormbreaker away easily
I get it... The idea is up to the wielder in how much power they channel. Thor was not in the best state.
The gauntlet is an awkward and slow weapon while Thanos's sword was a quick efficient weapon Thanos had actually trained with.
You were almost correct. You mentioned the Power Stone being used without a vessel in the first GotG. Don't forget, Thanos also used the Power Stone without a vessel in Endgame when he removed it from the gauntlet, gripped it, and punched Captain Marvel with it.
Correct, but I think he means that he can’t use the “all” the power of the stone.
Nice theory.
However, you forgot to mention when Thanos plucks the Power Stone out of the Gauntlet to punch Captain Marvel right out of frame, and right out of the movie for a bit.
He did NOT need anything but his fist to use that stone.
I immediately thought the same thing when I heard that in the video.
But he did it quickly as holding the stone too long will cause disintigration.
he did it quite quick right?beside he has a far biggger mass and size so it might take longe time to disintegrate thanos then it id with the guardians of the galaxy. Also marvel also implies that the more psace for the power from the power stone to travel the longer it needs for the stone to disintegrate the holder. So yes thanos might be able to hold it longer than some people because he's quite big
@@aamonjaeger3749 Remember in Endgame when Loki grabbed up the tessaract and slipped quietly away to who the hell knows, he also held it right in his hand. He’s nowhere near Thanos’ size.
He already mentioned that the power stone has been used without a container when talking about the Guardians.
Imagine if Infinity War Thor with Stormbreaker and Supreme Dr. Strange fought Thanos with Four Infinity Stones in his Gauntlet, in a Two on One Fight Battle/Fight. Dr. Strange gave him a real run for his money in the Film, but still lost, so if the circumstances changed with Thor being there, know that would be an Epic Battle.
Wouldn't matter Thanos was suppose to win in infinity war
They'd beat Thanos low dif
I never wondered why I figured the elf specialized it for such an occasion!

I have a weird question. Was Thanos crafting nebula on purpose be more like him cuz he's a eternal?
You forget that evil dr strange ate the flipping soul stone probably meaning that he should be able to use them to their peak.
He didn't eat the soul stone. He condensed the planet busting energy attack from Ultron and swallowed it. Watch again.
@@jeremyhusband3074 but his eyes started glowing the same color as the stone

I just like to imagine that the actual gauntlet was sabatoged by the dwarfs to storm breaker.
Imagine if Ultron made a body out of a Vibranium adamantine and uru alloy mix, it would be far more powerful.
No one being knows how to forge all 3
I just assumed the Dwarf made the gauntlet with a weakness, and made Stormbreaker with gauntlet destroying abilities lol
Storm breaker and infinity gauntlet favorite Storm breaker ♥

4:27 Didn't Malekith use the Reality Stone without a vessel? Or is it's liquid state as the Ether the vessel, and the concentrated stone is different.
Good question!
The Dark elves are way tougher than Thanos.
Correct...That’s why they removed the Tony Stark with his daughter scene

I had an issue with how nerfd the gauntlet was and this answer makes it make more sense.
For some reason when I watched it I thought stormbreaker was using the bifrost to transport the blast away
I love your videos And look forward to the next ten years with you
I honestly believe that infinity ultron should be thrown out of the conversation.
Thanos used the power stone without any device in Endgame when he punched Capt Marvel with it.
Wasn’t the gauntlet slightly damaged after the first snap tho
It's Purpose is to deal with energy. Thanks didn't use any specific functions for the stones thus playing into directly what Thor needed. Thanks could easily have used any specific function to stop stormbreaker.
Now I start to imagine what they might have stored for Thor in future MCU movies if Storm Breaker is this powerful… Rune King Thor, Cosmic King Thor what not
I dont think so
Plus like the video said Stormbreaker is the kryptonite of the infiny gauntlet
How r u licensed to sell that marvel merchandise?
Why didn't you address the fact that the dendronic wood material of Groot enhanced the power of storm breaker?
oOoOO.... Nice! I didn't think of that
nice
I was under the impression that the gauntlet held up just fine to the first snap, but was destroyed in the process of snapping to destroy the stones themselves…
You are the only person who can make Star Wars and Marvel so darn powerful to the ears. 🎩👁
Both Gauntlet and Stormbreaker are made from uru, and uru isn't affected by stones,
If the Stormbreaker is just as powerful as the Infinity Gauntlet, then is it capable of unleashing the worldwide thunderstorm when it reached its fullest potential?
I mean in the comics Thor is already quite able to do that with mjolnir
Now I wonder what the Watcher made his suit out of, I'm thinking adamantine.
i always assumed it was because it takes a while to get used to having all the stones and thanos also has to concentrate so his mind and body don't just collapse from the sheer power of weilding them. thanos in endgame had no stones while fighting thor (with stormbreaker), cpt america (with mjolnir) and ironman at the same time. stormbreaker could only beat the gauntlet in infinity war because thanos was just getting used to it. same in endgame when cpt marvel swooped in and tried to stop thanos from snapping his fingers just seconds after he got the ironman gauntlet.
One would argue that the gauntlet is just a decorative paperweight without the batteries ie the stones
Great vid
Thanos used the power stone alone by pulling it from the gauntlet when he punched Captain Marvel
The power stone was used barehanded by Thanos when he punched out Captain Marvel
Where can I watch the animated series on display in this video?
Molded Stormbreaker into a "Thanos Killing Weapon."
I don't know if Thor is as powerful as Odin.
THOR RULES SUPREME!!! He’s the sole character with actual REAL historical mythology.
What do you think the Watcher's armor is made of??
I wonder too
Ink
That moment when all the assembled avengers come running and spider man swings in on webs attached to………. Nothing. There’s nothing up there
In the old comic books Ultrons body and cap's shield were made from pure adamantium vs vibranium. Uggh I hate change LOL.
It wasn't the stones or gaulet, but thanos's use of it.
Oden had a gauntlet with the infinity stones in his archives so did Oden have all six infinity stones before
What ever happened to the Ultimate Nullifier?
He could’ve literally used the space stone alone to teleport it else where lol
I thought stormbreaker and Thor was super synced because of how Thor had to hold the gate very essence of Thor is burned into the metal that made stormbreaker no weapon is stronger and no other man's hands
Isn't Uru also supposed to be sentient?
That don’t make sense. The guantlet is just a housing for the stones. The stone themselves are the powerful items… not the guantlet. The guantlet is just what is used to harness those power. Just like how ultron uses his armor to harness the stones.
Exactly! And thanos literally uses the power stone in Endgame to punch captain marvel.... with his bare fist... So fun theory but a few facts wrong.
You said the stones cant be used directly but in and game thanos used a stone directly by pulling it out of the gauntlet and used it to punch Marvel out of her shoes
take a shot every time he says gauntlet
Thanos dropped the power stone out and hit captain marvel proving the point that he didn’t need the gauntlet to channel the stones power through the metal.
So which metal alloy is better/stronger…uru or vibranium?
Even Odin said Thor is stronger than him so he probably is. Youre right about that
Your explanations where good but you forgot one more factor the thor that fought ultron in what if wasn’t even in his prime plus Mjönir is confirmed to be weaker than storm breaker I think it really matters of the user’s strenght but your theory could be right also
What about ultron vs storm breaker ? And is vibranium stronger than what the infinity gauntlet is made of?
You are already wrong when you need a "housing" for the stones. Thanos clocked Captain Marvel with just a stone, no other devices needed.
Thanos could only use an infinity stone that way for a short time he definitely would not be able to use them all without some kind of vessel.
Thanos did hold the power stone in his bare hand to punch captain marvel in end game
Well groot is not a man so enchantment wouldn't apply regardless. Can't remeber anyone trying to use stormbreaker since that was there new plot device
What if Idea: What if Odin was successful in assembling all Infinity Stones
No weapon is as powerful as a bugger on the end of a finger.
What is the power of the gauntlet w/o the stones?
Doesn't Thanos rip out the Power Stone to punch somebody with his right hand at some point? Is it still channeled through the gauntlet somehow or was that an oversight here?
One of the badass weapons of all time
Everybody say their weapons are made of the same metal but they're different colors. How is that possible?
In the comics uru metal can be fashioned "grey" or gold. In the comics Thor's hammer and The Destroyer armor at grey, Stormbreaker and Odin's spear are gold, and they are all made from uru.
@@shadowconvoy I wanted to go with the comic accurate answer but I keep hearing "you cant go off the comics causebthe MCU is different"

Directors don't know the ins and outs, so taking their word is like believing Jesus will bring someone back to life after getting struck by lightening.
well said. Infinity stones are infinitely powerful. There are ways to counter specific form of use of the stones, but not all method of usage.
See that’s the issue, when considering a weapon I think of a solid one single item weapon. The Infinity Gauntlet is a combination of weapons. So ofcourse it would be OP but!!! Individually they are pretty much beatable as seen many times
