Since Pinterest likes to change things every quarter it seems, here's what we do when tagging products. On mobile: you can only tag products while you're creating a Pin. Once it's published you can't add a tagged product. On Desktop: you can add a tag to an already published pin by clicking on the pin for the "close up", click on the shopping bag icon in the top left of the Pin image. Or you can tag products while creating a pin by hoving over the Pin image and selecting the tag icon.

For sure! Just create Pins with Pinterest best practices (vertical, 2:3 ratio, keywords, text overlay, high-quality images) and link to your Amazon products. Also tag your products!

Do you have a claimed account on Pinterest? If your Pinterest account isn't connected to your own website things like this will likely be difficult.

This right here ! I’m and Amazon affiliate and from my understanding Pinterest doesn’t appreciate you putting the affiliate product links in the destination link so this is the proper way to add the affiliate links I assume
Yes, it's definitely most advantageous for you to tag your AMZ affiliates and/or in a blog post (on your own website) and send your Pinterest audience to that post.
I can’t tag anything. There is no option for this in my business account.
Pinterest is changing things again. Try this... click on the little pencil icon on the Pin image to get to the options you need to tag your products while building the Pin. Once you've selected your Pin image, you'll see "Create Pin" at the top, click on the pencil icon that's on your Pin image, and proceed as described in the video.@@heebie-jeebies-creepypasta

I would have a question, just to make sure that I understood it correctly.
If I have for example a Print on Demand Backpack in 3 different colors in one pin, I could make 3 different tags, on that pin, each tag for one backpack with the URL linked to that specific backpack in the color shown?
I think I have seen something like that in a product pin somewhere.
Or would it be smarter to make a single pin for every backpack (just one color per pin). I don't want to get banned for Pin spamming or something...
Another question: the "This is an affiliate link or sponsored product" Checkbox.
Since I sell my designs on Print on Demand Products, I think that does not apply to my Pins, or does it?
So happy to help! Thanks for letting us know! You can do either way. Tag your three color options on one Pin or create 3 separate pins. You won't get in trouble by Pinterest for doing either. And yes, correct you don't have to worry about toggling the affiliate box if it's your own product!

But I have two completely different shops on Etsy, so do I create two different Pinterest Business accounts for each shop, or do I create different boards for each shop, but keep them under ONE Pinterest account? Or how doest that work? In one of my shops, I sell printable junk journal pages and kits and in my other shop I sell printable greeting cards, party favors and wall art. Should that all be in one Pinterest account or two different ones? Thank you in advance!! Also, do I really need covers for my Pinterest boards?

Pinterest changed a few things in last few months (check our update in the video description). Make sure you check on mobile and desktop, during creation of a pin and go back to an already published pin. Also is the pin you're trying to tag a product on linking to your own website? If you've looked at all those options and still don't see the feature it may be that Pinterest hasn't released that option on your account yet.
I’m trying to figure out how to add “tag topics” on my pin that’s a video. Every time I try to type something like Cookies, nothing happens. How does it save?
Try typing in just Cook and see it shows up for you. I just tried that and one of the options was Cookies.

For what ever reason I'm not able to get these options to show up on my phone. I've tried various ways to get it to work but no luck. I believe I'm using the most up to date version of Pinterest too.

No, links in descriptions won't do any good. I would contact Pinterest help. It might be a glitch. help.pinterest.com/en/contact
Hi, actually what I am figuring right now is when I am creating organic pins I couldn't see any tag button option for my product whether it's a video or an image. But when I create an idea pin I do get to see the tag option where I can tag the products in an image. So what is the correct way and is this same happening with you as well?

I'm having the same problem. The tag option is only showing up for ad pins and not on rwgular ones. I'm on desktop.
So for some reason I don't have the little shopping bag icon when I go back to an already published pin on desktop! Any idea what? Also, I had no clue I was able to tag products in a pin - I thought only brands could do that! I'm not able to do it while uploading from desktop which is where I prefer to post from, but when I go into the app, I see the option to tag products there. Why wouldn't the same features be available both in app and on desktop?! Any idea as to why the shopping bag icon would not be visible for me to click on desktop? Thanks!

Is the Pin you're trying to tag a product on linking to your own website?
I don't know why Pinterest doesn't have the same features on both devices. I wish they did.
I am new to pinterset and the option to tag a product to pin doesn't appear for me on my desktop...second thing I create my products is I add the link of the product when creating pin that can make me get panned
If it's a Pinterest approved affiliate program you can link the Pin to the product but it probably won't do as well in engagement if you're not linking to your own website.
Tagging - Pinterest is changing things around right now so different accounts have different features. Try on mobile. Also sometimes the tag feature on desktop only works if it's our shop/product.

Anyone faced the experience that after you create your pin in Canvas for example that template has office products then you try to get your pin ready to be published on Pinterest but you can't find the matching products on that template from Amazon because I am using my custom made PC and no longer I can have access to the screenshot feature on the app to search for products? So I can't download any app on my PC just a few offered by the Microsoft Store.

I am so confused. I am on my laptop. Uploaded a video. I see where it says tags, and as soon as I start typing, it says "there are no tags that match your query" The only tags I see come up on the little drop down menu that pops up, have nothing to do with what I am trying to upload. Also, the reason I am doing it with my laptop is because I linked my business account to a personal account, I can get to my business account from the laptop but it doesn't show up on my phone.

How does some people tag their affiliate products on shuffle. Like when we click on a shirt or any stuff in the image it takes you to their affiliate product. How to do this?

The shopping sticker I think only available in the US, I am in India and I usually use the “board” sticker where I pin my related products

@JefferyWWright @@adrianagrace1689 also make sure you're the pin you're trying to tag is linking to your own website. If it's a third-party website (like an affiliate) the tag option won't be on the already published Pin.
i have a fashion pinterest so i have to tag the individual product using my affiliate link. but they arent working. ive seen videos of people doing this so im unsure @@SimplePinMedia

You can't add tags to a board. You can tag a product and Pinterest will automatically create a product pin from that but you don't tag boards.
Well, hello. You're so helpful. When I go to tag products on mobile and go to add the link to my merch shop, it doesn't allow me to do that and gives me an error message in red. Does tagging only work for established affiliate links, Amazon, LTK, etc.?

Pinterest is changing things again. Try publishing the pin and then go back to edit it and see if you can add a tag clicking on the shopping bag icon on the pin image.
Hey on my link i put my amazon affilate. Can i do the same for tagging? Just adding the Amazon affilate link?
Lately, we've only seen people be able to tag products if it's their own products from their own shop. You can try and see what happens.
So I have pins that link directly to my products with the standard destination link but the products aren’t tagged. Should I still be tagging products? I guess I am still just confused on the difference between tagging and just regular product link destination pins.
Really, when it makes the most sense to tag a product on a Pin is when you have a standard Pin linking to a blog post that is talking about that product or it's an accessory of the topic in the post. But you can still tag your product on a standard Pin that links to the product. It's just another way for your audience to see the product and increase the possibility of purchase.
Hey, I really appreciate this video, and it's pretty useful, however, I am not getting that shopping bag icon that you pointed out in 5:39. Does that shopping bag still exist in 2024 or is it just me that's not getting it? Also, I tried the phone sticker thingy you told us, but it doesn't give me the "product" sticker.
Yeah, Pinterest has changed things around since this video was published. You can only see a shopping bag on a close-up of a Pin if it links to your own website.
The mobile sticker options don't seem to be available to all accounts. Especially in other countries other than the US and UK.
I am unable to find the tag product option. Neither on mobile nor through desktop.

Pinterest is changing things again! Try publishing the Pin and then go back to that Pin, hit edit and see if you can add the tag that way. Let me know how it goes. Some accounts can still do the way I explain in the video and others can't. It varies.

Pinterest seems to have taken that option away. If you still have Idea Pin creation option you can tag products there. No, the product tag needs to be link or a product Pin.
I'm working on Pinterest since one week to create an business account and earn money for... But nothing is working. I searched all the Google website's but didn't find anything about how to tag the brands. And I also used your way but didn't find two options theirs just on option on my business account and that is "next" . So do you have other way please please . Explain me in details
You definitely need to give it more than a week. Pinterest requires months of consistency before you start to see good progress. For brand deals in particular you need to establish your own audience first and then work with a brand through email to coordinate an agreement for what you produce on Pinterest. You can't just tag a random company and expect a deal from that.

Probably not. Pinterest doesn't seem to have this option available to everyone yet. Does the pin you're trying to find a tag option on link to your own website or somewhere else?

Thank you! this video was so helpful! I do have a question. I use LTK mainly for my affiliates - would you know why LTK affiliate links don't work in tag or product tag? only way I can link it is with the pin but I'm worried it will cause Pinterest to ban my account
LTK is an approved affiliate by Pinterest so it *should work but we all know Pinterest can be glitchy in this department. Are you using the direct link to one product and adding it to the "use a link" option?
Another thing - what options do you have when you click on the + sign on your mobile app? Does it include "idea pin"? If so use that option instead of the "pin" option.
Pinterest has been changing things a lot lately so I'm having to navigate the changes and figure out who has what on their accounts (it's different for different people).

I've tried both. product link or my LTK post link. both won't let me link via tag or product tag. Only as a "add a link" to my pin. And I've tried both mobile and desktop. You're welcome! Ok the new version of Pin only is frustrating me. There's no option to add a tagged product. Try publishing your Pin and then,on desktop, go back to that Pin and you should see an option in the upper left corner of the Pin image of a bag. That's where you can try adding your affiliates. If that still doesn't work for you then I would contact Pinterest help help.pinterest.com/en/contact. There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to add those approved affiliates. @@gigil4m

I can't find the tag products when I post on my phone. Is this because I'm not in the US or UK? But I have colleagues in the Netherlands who can also add products to posts.
It could be that only some of the people in your country have this option and it hasn't rolled out to you yet.
What are you trying to do? Tag a product on an already published pin or tag a product on a pin you're in the process of publishing?

Why can’t I see my product pins in created??
Product Pins are a totally different category by Pinterest standards. They are updated every 24 hours so they don't show up under Created.

Try publishing the pin first then go back and hit edit pin then see if you can add the tag.

I am not able to schedule carousel pins. The moment I upload many pics together the schedule options goes away
Make sure you're creating it on mobile. Once you're all done with creating it the way you want it, hit "Next". You'll see the option to schedule on the "Finishing touches" page.
Hi, if you could please help me out I’d appreciate it so much! I went to the stickers option and I’m not seeing the “product” option at all. I saw a few people comment a similar issue. I would like to add these tags to my posts with the goal of leading my Pinterest viewers to my Amazon affiliate page. (I’m from Canada if it matters). I’m not sure what could be the cause. Is it a regional issue or do I need to be verified in some sort of way in order to get access to “product” stickers?
Yes, Pinterest is changing things again. Try this, publish the Pin and go back to it and edit it. See if you can get that option.
how do you add the little white dot tags over each product with their links to a collage made on canva?
those white dots are shopping recommendations generated by Pinterest so pinners can shop products similar to what's shown on the Pin. You don't have control of those. Many creators like to turn that off if they have their own products they're promoting on the Pin. If you want to turn it off - on desktop go to Settings > Social permissions > Shopping recommendation > toggle on or off under "Show in standard pin"

From what we can tell, you can't tag products on standard image pins from your phone anymore. However (if you have this option on your account) you can tag products when making Idea Pins on your phone.
You should be able to tag products on desktop AFTER you publish the Pin. Go back to that Pin and click on it for the "close up" and hover over the Pin image, click on the bag icon in top left corner.

That's how I used to tag products on desktop but the shopping bag doesn't show up for me anymore. I don't see a way to tag from the edit page either. I'll check on mobile to see if I can find a way from there. @@SimplePinMedia
I can tag products (sort of) from my phone only, not from my desktop. On the phone, I can tag products but I can't use my catalog, and the tagged products aren't showing up as 3 little images under the pin after I tag them. On desktop I still can't tag products at all. I've contacted Pinterest twice in the last month with no response. Any ideas? @@SimplePinMedia
