These lights remind me so much of my Rockville Rockwedges. I was glad to see you explained the quality control issue with Chinese lights. I bought 12 of the Rockwedges and had to send 3 back. 2 of them had bad diodes and 1 had a very weak battery. So far the replacements have been rock solid.
All lights are pretty much Chinese made, stamped with an American name brand.

I have same only 6*18 watt van V-show. I don't use the kickstands either. For that reason i unscrew the top 4 screws and rotated the top 180 degrees. Now the display and led, faces the wall.

How do you know when they all fully charged? I see a red light when they are charging, and I noticed they go to 100% quickly. If it says 100% is that reliable or do you recharge them longer? The guide that came with them says 6-7 hours the initial time.
1. Instead of tape over the green LED wireless light, you maybe able to unscrew the top cover, rotate it 180 deg (with the tall lip side reversed) then you can turn the box box towards the wall.
2. Get the manufacturer to make this shell case in tough plastic. Why? Because i noticed after time that anything metal will rust over time exposed to moisture and will look like crap.
Been using these for years now. They work great with donner wireless dmx. They just opened a warehouse in la so shipping times are fairly realistic now.

It seems like that battery level indicator is actually a voltage level indicator. That’s because especially in li-ion batteries the voltage curve is not linear (it’s steeper at top and bottom and flatter in the middle)

Has anyone tried the Mini version? Seems like the battery life is still good so with them being smaller would be lighter and take up less space.
When DMXing these lights & using the ADJ myDJgo app is there already a profile built that will copy over from a ADJ lights or do you have to build your own??

You mentioned the top shield seems like it is backward, it looks like the 4 screws hold it on, could it be rotated 180 degrees, which would also put the flashing green light DMX light towards the wall?

Those are pretty impressive for the cost. Love the fact they run on Donner. Might be ordering some through you down the road
They also can be run through your phone or even by using one light as the master. So technically you can run the basic features without a controller.

Battery life.
Quick question, if you set your gig up at noon, would you leave your lights on standby mode of put the switch off?
Do they lose much battery power on the standby mode?
No you dont loose really anything on standbye. But normally we wait to turn them on out of habit. Typicalyl we just make a little pile of all them on the dance floor then about an hour before we turn on and place around the room
I'm rocking with Rockville, Best Par 50, Best Par 60, Wedges and the Best Strip.. a little too late Rick.. But these lights are awesome.

I bought 12 Lights from Both Lighting back in 2018. I have the 18 watt x 6 RGBWA wireless lights. They are the same thing as the Rainbow Smart 2 lights, only difference is the menu has 32 preset colors where the Rainbow lights you have to create a custom color for static colors. I am considering buying 8 more of them, but waiting until I actually sell some more up lighting add ons in the future.
Any issues with the lights? I'm looking to buy some myself.
@@DjJoeKhoury Only very minor issue is with the up and down buttons. Pressing up button actually scrolls down. Pressing down actually scrolls up lol. The batteries are great and still last very long 3 years later. But my lights don't get used all the time either. I have used them on maybe 12 or 13 events since I purchased them 3 years ago.

I was looking at some beginner lighting options here in the UK. They sell T bars in the form of a Powerbar where you connect up all your lights to the bar and run a single cable to the bar itself. The confusing thing is the Powerbar also has a single DMX in and DMX out socket (& a channel selector). .. If I purchase something like this will I still be able to DMX (using ShowXpress) each of the lights separately or I will be forced to use one channel?

I want to buy the new model (with 6 LED). I am using adj AIRSTREAM DMX BRIDGE and my questions is if I can use my dmx controller to create the light show with this lights.
From what I read until now The wireless on adj and lights are not working together.
Can I connect my adj with the one light through dongle or cable and after the lights will communicate between them ?

You have to buy a transmitter for the lights and plug into the airstream. And the 6 led is not new. It's actaully the oldest model the 4 is newer and better since it's just as bright with more battery life

I just got 8 more of the Chauvet Freedom Par Hex 4 for a total of 20. Was $3k for a set of 8 (including soft case, not the hard charge case). I guess the real test will be how long the battery lasts. The wireless control on those is really nifty to show clients!
I normally get 12 hours in one charge. 2 events back to back no problem

What is comparisson with Ape maxi uplights in brightness? I know Ape maxis are more expensive but I would like to know which are more bright (in static color) If you maybe know? Thanks

I believe the newer show express has them. But it is cake to add them manually
You mentioned "they work with Donner". Do you know if they work with this similar products of Chinly, Colornie ... they all got Wireless DMX 2.4Ghz?! Or at least, one Dongle and the pars get chained up by their Wireless DMX?

These lights are in a league above those. Lol. The best par 60 is twice the size and uses 9 little 6 watt diodes. 54 watts of output. These are smaller lighter and have 4 18 watt diodes. 72 watts of output . Email me because you can get mine for right around that same price. Djrickwebinfo@gmail.com
How do you charge these lights. In the manual it says you turn off power switch and other switches to charge. It doesn’t make sense to turn off the switch on the case.
The instructions are old based of the original model which had two switches on for on off and the other for the battery. You just leave them off and plug in
It would be nice to see the light path for how bright the light actually is. How strong is the light effect?
Check the gig logs. Almost everyone is using them

Mine just got delivered and they seem a little shaky when putting them all on the same color group and trying to connect them all together. They were all very close together so idk if this was the problem or if i wasn’t linking them together correct. Any tips you could send my way to help me out?
Don't have them so close to each other. Each light is a like a little wifi router. You put a bunch on top each other it cramps the signal. I had the same issue shooting this video
Thank you sm Rick. Used them last night for the first time and they worked amazing when used in a real scenario. Any chance you’d do the battery life test with the s6’s. That’s what I purchased before realizing the battery is less efficient on them.
Its only about 1 hour less than the s4 in my testing

It doesn't compare. That light only has 6 watts of output per diode. Mine are 18 watts per diode of light output.

Got 6 LED version. Plugged it in, and the whole thing sparked up and almost caught on fire.
Did you contact the company? Probably loose wire are part due to shipping.

Has anyone use them with the ADJ Airstream DMX Bridge alongside Donner DMX? The S6 is not connecting, I’ve tried direct with a dmx cable to my ADJ Airstream and no response from the lights.

No you need a transmitter

The lights should already have receivers in them or id that model not one of them?

They work with any dmx software you just have to use a wireless dmx transmitter ment for the lights. I have used Sound switch

I noticed that there is a S6 and S4, 6 vs 4 LEDs but the 6 is more common online. In some cases I really cant find the 4. I was wondering if you or anyone knew the difference between the 2 and why you went with the one you did.
The 4 is better more people choose it when they have compared both. Longer battery, just as bright, cheaper. The s6 is just a wider beam angle which actaully doesn't look that good compared to the s4.

These are available from loads of brands, they're a solid bet
I've used them a good few times, never had them let me down. Very handy.
In the EU, I think the Thomann version are similarly priced, and I'm pretty sure those are weatherproof. Thomann ones have charging cases too, but they have a connector in the bottom of the case so you can just drop the light down in and have them charge without cables

I’ve heard a lot about this Chinese company selling these up lights. I’ve actually heard DJ Joe Bunn said he’s used this Chinese company up lights before as well. I was skeptical at first but after watching this video, and DJ Rick Webb talking about the pricing and quality build of it I have to say, this is the most “bang for your buck” when it comes to up-lighting. Now I own Element hexes as well, but seeing that 20 Element Hexes with the “No Charge Case” (just a 6 case w/ carrying handle), comes to at around a whopping $7,000.00!!! ($6,799.00 without taxes and shipping to be exact btw selling on IDJNow), this is a no- brainer. If DJ Rick Webb bought 24 of these w/ “Charging Cases”, for $3,200 w/ shipping, then I would’ve gotten around 48 of these for the price of the Element Hexes 😱 I mean don’t get me wrong I’m a fan of U.S based DJ equipment but if this Chinese company is being used by “Legit” and “Known” DJ’s like DJ Rick Webb and DJ Joe Bunn and has been tested and tried, and are really HALF THE PRICE, then ima really have to reconsider cuz I’m not rich. I mean the quality might not be on par w/ ADJ’s or Chauvet’s, but I think it’s worth the trade w/ everything considered. (I'm an Ape guy my self) Dj Rick Webb's lights are awesome @ low prices. Mean while you're all trying to compare d size for no reason. 🤷🏻♂️ To me this wins where the others fail. These lights are brighter, and cheaper. End of the day if it makes you happpy that's all that matters. ✌️💯

No I haven't but also only spent 30 minutes on it.
If you have trouble with the phone app try contacting Lyric Chen at Both Lighting. You need to make sure your using the correct phone app since many of them are so similar.
Can you master and slave them to be all the same color and make one the master? I'm pretty sure you can

@@DJRickWeb just got mine in the mail a few days ago. Look great so far! One had a broken kick stand (not a big deal to me) and they was shipped late, but they made it up to me by sending an extra light. Which ill use as back up if one goes out. Thanks for the review!

Why did you go for the S4 when the S4 mini has the same specs and is cheaper
S4 mini just came out i have 16 of them now and 24 s4s
I'd be pretty skeptical that those are really 18W diodes x 4ea. Love to see any owners of these lights hook them up to a battery generator, turn all diodes on full and report the output wattage. LOL

1. would you recommend buying the water-resistant model ? + How much more expensive is the water-resistant model?
2. does the water-resistant model have any disadvantages (smaller battery?)?
3. have you also used or seen in action the model with 6x18 w LED? + Does it make sense to buy the 6x18w model rather than 4x18w?

1 and 2. The water resistant model is not being produced anymore last I checked.
3. I have samples of all there lights. The 6 unit one was not impressive to me. Same overall brightness just wider beam angle but less battery life
How many of these lights will one Donner transmitter talk to?
