I’ve got 20 of the S6. These things are fantastic. No issues.
They are great. I got the S6. In big venues I can get away with the spread. S4 I would need approximately 5-10 more to cover what I can do with s6. And battery is awesome. I did a 7 hour gig on s6. I had them fading, strobing, chasing. And they all still had over 35 percent battery at the end. Highly recommend both. Hit Rick up. S4 or s6 you can’t go wrong.

I bought 40 of the s6's - awesome lights. Love them - no issues so far from both.. Only thing was damage from fedex on 2 of the cases

Did yours come with powecon charging only? I see the S6 also has IEC was curious.
You can get either one. They switch them to all powercon around 2020 but you can still request iec
We ordered 128 of the S6 Minis (64 white, 64 black). I'm beyond happy with them - my DJs can fit 24-32 in their personal vehicles and we no longer need to send an assistant for them. They've allowed us to REALLY boost our profit margins AND pay our DJs a bit more for the trouble. Everyone wins!
In hindsight, which color do you prefer...black or white? I'm looking to purchase a bunch and leaning toward black.

My plan is to get the S6 because I'm going to use the app to control them, 100%. If the minis were able to be controlled by the app, I'd probably get them instead.

Alright Rick, awesome videos bro. i have a few questions in regards to DMXing these. SO i ideally want to have both of my ADJ focus spot 6z moving heads and say 16 s6 uplights working all in sync. im currently using the ADJ my DMX GO app and a wireless dongle (the chinese version of donners) with your expertise, can you tell me if this can all work seamlessly? im thinking of switching to sound switch... thoughts on that? Hey Rick only issue I’ve had with the both lighting uplights is screws coming lose and issues with the spring on the bottom angle latch. I always use the road case and am careful with them so this was a bit of a concern for me
Have seen minor issues with these two. There are quick fixes to get it to work great. DM me if you need more info

Rick, great video! Quick question: does the Donner receiver (rechargeable) fit under the S4? I’m concerned with the length of the Donner receiver being too long and therefore you’d end up needing to adjust the height using the angle adjuster clip?
Or do you simply use wired DMX cabling between the S4 units?
Lol. Not at all they have the wireless dmx reciever built into the light. Its awesome. All you need is a transmitter

Hi Rick, You can unscruw the 4 top screws en twist them 180 degrees. Than the screens en led are on the backside. The only disadvantage is dat the stand is the wrong way. But i never use those any way. In the 4s versios the powerbrik are inside the unit. So they have also a powerbrick. Thats the course for the side differents.
Maybe you can srew them open in a video. Sorry for my bad englisch, i`m from the Netherlands.

Rick, I’m a big fan of the S4’s I bought from you so far. A couple questions…
1. If you aren’t using a DMX controller and you’re just using the built-in programs, would you say the S4 is better to get than the S4 mini since the S4 has the lcd screen with the menu? I know you said the DMX profiles are the same on the regular and the mini, but it’s not clear to me how you would set the mini to some of the functions (setting a custom color, sound modes, etc.) you use the lcd menu for on the regular S4.
2. Battery charging - I know in your other video overview on these uplights you said the battery life indicator is not accurate, but is there a way to at least know when it’s fully charged? I’ve just been charging them for like 3 hours after each wedding and wasn’t sure if there’s a better way to go about it. I did notice that when it’s charging there’s a red light that comes on somewhere inside the case if you turn it upside down. I’ve also seen that light be green. Is that light possibly a charging/fully charged indicator?
Dont mix mini and normal at events. The dmx controls are different and the master slave doesnt work between them. Unless your doing solid colors then sure mix all you want. Or sound active modes.
Yes on the s4 / s6 on the bottom of the light there is a red/green led inside the bottom. When you first plug it in it will turn red and turn green once fully charged. You have to look through the opening and cracks in the light to see it. If you cant find it email me i have photos

My question is, if you had to choose between buying the s4 or the s4 mini and you weren’t using or planning on having f a DMX controller, would the s4 be the way to go because the lcd screen menu makes it easier to access all the functionality?

They will work on same channel for dmx. Master slave... its possible. The dmx profile is the same

Hi, I have a charging problem on the S4. I have twelve that I bought recently (3 weeks). I respected the first charging of the batteries (7 hours) with the switch off. It didn't change anything, it was showing 80%. I'm going to a wedding with and had no problems. I put the fixtures back in charge (switches off). I did a second wedding and the fixtures went out after 1 hour. The power cable lights are red when I plug them in... and turn green after 10min of charging... Can you tell me the output voltage of your cables? Thanks in advance !

Can you use the S4 as master to slave S4 Minis? And can you use these as master/slaves in 2 different groups using the ADJ Airstream DMX Bridge? Meaning... having half do one scene while the others do a seperate scene... even creating custom DMX Bridge shows that way?
No s4 and s4 mini do not talk to each other in master slave mode.
If you create different channels yes you can have them doing different things

Is there anyway you can use these with the ADJ"s Airstream DMX without going the Donner route?
You have to use a Chinese type wireless dmx transmitter. Which you can then plug into the adj stuff
Interestingly the reason all colors max when using light it is all white. However, when you mix paints or liquids, it’s the exact opposite, all the colors (primary even) of all colors that aren’t might don’t give you white but black.

ok ok ok, I have had the S6 20 of them for the last 2 yrs, will say about 60 gigs, mostly 7 hr weddings and 15aneras and never fail me on battery, they are a bit picky because on wifi mode with I use with the remote, is someone kick on or move one they sometimes act crazy and affect other lights, but you go and fix it and back to normal, I have them in custom color for reception like 2-2.5 hrs and after that have them fading, strobbing on party time and they go to the end of the party. they are built as a tank. love them, just sold them and get me a new set of the same lights to keep going.

APE LABS.....Best on the planet ! Don't be cheap buy the best.
We make Ape Labs lights. 😆. We sell them for about $50 per light even cheaper than these lights.

What is the point of the kickstand?
You rarely use it tbh. But sometimes its needed when the wall is slightly angled. It come in handy maybe 1 in 20 events lol. I have one venue here where we have to use it otherwise the uplights dont hit the wall

I Own wedge and S4. S4 is better in every way except they are slightly bigger and heavier. But better range. Better colors. Better build. Adjustable angle. Has an app that’s cool etc. unless you’re worried about weight or an extra lift - get the S4
