I am so damn surprised you actually took the chance on this game, I saw this game when it had 4 reviews and it was just so surprisingly unique, I ended up contributing to some guest puzzles and ...uh too many custom maps for this game LMAO. the game takes its mechanics to very interesting directions (and there's lots of surprising moments) so I'm excited if you plan to do more!!
I've spent way too much time playing this game, and I think you will genuinely love it! Me and many others in the Lingo community also create our own levels that range from just a few puzzles to hundreds with all kinds of themes too. If this sticks with you and you get to the end of the game, be sure to try out the custom maps
@@Imperial_Squid Well... he didn't really. I mean, he obviously still has the good sentiment to let us do it; it's just not very easy to make level editors for Godot. He did however give some of us access to enough of the files from the game to make custom scenes in the Godot studio :P
@@AltoRed_ I have been instructed to make fun of any insect herder. Unfortunately I have no idea how to do that, so I'll just say hi and stop there. Hi.
The funny thing with Chants of Sennaar was that (having finished it before he played it) the symbols that they used for the thumbnail are between the most recognizable ones, I would just translate the symbols and then read the right side 😂
@@AltoRed_ The first writes something like "Devotee, seek/search, god", the second is "Impure, (plural sideways), duty", the third is "stupid, find", the fourth one is "Transformation, (not actual symbol that looks like an atom)", the final one is "Me, fear, you", the only one I had to look up was the Anchorites' (5th language) "fear" symbol.
Antichamber had a way of appearing like it is trying to show you something but it's not allowed to directly tell, so it's being a little unapproachable, but never distant. This game... rather has a vibe of laughing at you trying to make sense of it. Hope you conquer it soon, and show it who's boss, Tyler!
I definitely was an insect herder as a kid 😂. I used to lure insects into certain traps and keep them if they were cool. Typically the only insects that every grouped up enough to be considered herding were ants and I would always lead the black ones to the promise land and the red ones I’d lead them to their death. I didn’t like the red ones cause they would hurt so I thought they should die. I had to stop when my mom found out I was letting the live in the house free.
This game is great, the deductions about rules and some of the puzzles once you do know the rules are great. It's got a great unraveling to it, similar to my favorite puzzle games as you build on your knowledge. (I wasn't a huge fan of the non-Euclidean stuff, and eventually tracking down puzzles got to be a bit meh, but it was still 9/10.)
It sounds like the theme of the entire game is you need to figure out how *everything* works, not just the puzzles, but the space you move through aswell. But i wouldnt know, as ive never played it lol
This is probably the game where I needed the most note-taking because, usually, in other games it's just memory (which I'm really good at and The Witness ain't got nothing there) but damn, in this game, I really can't do the more difficult challenges in my head. I'm also using software for anagrams because screw that.
Absoultely dying laughing at the part with the red box that got more intense but then jumped back to normal repeatedly, and the secret return of led near the end!
I attempted to play this game many months ago and I have NEVER realized the amount of rules this game has. I couldn't even categorize them in my head by their colors. This game is insane and you, mr. Tyler, might be even crazier than the whole game, bravo :D
I'm so glad you're playing this! This game is massive (despite having over 100 hours, I still haven't completed it although you may want to half that since I played a bit of custom maps.).
A thistle is a european weed, which has bulbous, thorny purple flowers. It is also the national flower of Scotland. There are many species, and some can be specifcally grown to be several meters tall.
Glad to see other people relating this to antichamber as well! I think you would get a solid chuckle out of that game, as it bases itself heavily around non-euclidian exploration and experimentation! Its like the exploration itself is a puzzle!
The heights is the "level of abstraction"; on the floor it's very literal; at eye level, it's one level removed, and it's related to the text; above eye level, it's even further removed, and just related to the sounds.
Top tier game imo. I'm one of the custom creators for the game and I'm super hyped to see you playing it! That said youtube appears to think you're playing Antichamber...
This is definitely the kind of playthrough that benefits a ton from a good edit. Great work from Tyler, Noarsy, and Ben! Would love to see more of this, but also would strongly recommend *not* 100%ing the game. There's a lot of fluff that you're probably not too interested in, but also a lot of fun content and areas to explore.
This reminds me of understand with the concept of having to learn the rules through the game. I think next time you play this you should make a spreadsheet of what height and color mean, until you can see the pattern
