I recently dropped out of my Bachelor of science in mathematics because it wasn't what i expected math to be. It became all theory proving and it wasn't fun for me. So I'm planning to switch to a business degree instead, and accounting is what I'm looking at because it deals with numbers, but not to the extreme theory proving of mathematics where it wasn't fun anymore.
I'm an Elementary school teacher and I'm pretty sure you scored teaching wayyy to high on stress levels. We have to write work plans which often take all weekend and are always applying new interventions in learning plus maintaining contact with parents and professional development opportunities...plus classroom management...🤣
I said right away...on the stress level points..he has obviously never been a teacher. The only thing that might make teaching more of low stress are the vacations.
Pretty cool, i love applied math, it just make sense. this reminds me of a quantitative methods exercise. We take survey data, convert qualitative data into quantitative data so we can measure what's going on.
The way you explain accounting frauds is great. Please try to make a video based on the NMC healthcare scandal if possible. Thank you for the work you do 😊
I’m not great with people but I like math and numbers. I can deal with people if I have to but I like working alone. Is this a good career field for introverted people.
Hey question I'm really looking forward to a career in accounting but 4 years of schooling is really deterring me from making the jump. However, I noticed an online accounting program at wgu which would be really favorable to me. However, I am unsure how hiring managers will look at an online accounting degree
I’m enjoying the videos quite a bit. I was wondering if you could give me your opinion. I’m 33, is it too late to get my bachelors and move into an accounting career? It would be a complete career change.
Accounting was a 2nd career (a change) for me, and I entered it at 27 so slightly older than normal. I didn't find it challenging. Also, I see folks in their 50s doing it. I think you will have a slight disadvantage due to late entry, but shouldn't stop you. hope this helps
@@TheFinancialController how were you able to enter accounting? I’m looking for a career change as well and am considering a post grad diploma, which is one year, compared to a normal bachelors.
I feel like the scores should count for more the further down you go; you said each one is more important than the last. Maybe teaching would actually have outscored accounting if you had done that.. but very informative nonetheless!
I like your video, I was thinking of majoring in accounting but I have a concern. Do you think accounting jobs will decrease or it will be harder to enter accounting due to automation taking over the more routine tasks? I understand that an accountant still has to manage the automation but wouldn't you need less people to do that?
I don't think automation is a danger. The nature of the work will simply shift from data entry to more compliance/strategy type of work such as implementing new accounting standards (ASC 606 and 842 for example), plus more financial analysis work. I think jobs will pay more because we will be more productive with automation.

Good choice, have you looked into Actuarial Science?
Try computer science instead if you don't mind math. Accounting only uses basic math and CS is a better degree.
I think accounting is as theoretical as the maths degree you're coming from, numbers are just a footnote
@@first9299 accounting is better actually
@@weslomusiclove what makes you say that?
I appreciate that you can objectively admit accounting is a 5 in creativity.

yes
Same boat this is why I'm switching my degree now
I'm 44. Thinking of making a career change. Am i too old to switch into accounting? Should i just do bookeeping?
It’s not too late. Specially our life span is longer now and closer to 80

Hey with the current shift to online learning, it is perfectly fine
depending on where you live you could try an apprenticeship!
Would love to see more on Cash flow. Thank you for all the videos.
Ok

Did you get your accounting degree? Are you enjoying working as an accountant?
Normally people find out during their first accouting coarse.
I am both!
Thanks for the video ❤
Thanks for watching :)
This is great 👍 I am also deciding between teaching and accounting
Best of luck deciding Melissa
Don’t be a teacher. It’s easier to become a teacher post college than accountant.

Is it recommended to start to prepare for CPA during undergraduate? I just can’t see myself being able to study after a long day of work.
I recommend you do it based on our OWN pace and timing. For me, I did it while working. It was hard.
Please make the video about the latest news of Wirecard issues. Do you think it is similar to the Enron case?
Will do :) it’s a slightly different type of fraud than Enron.
Great vid man thanks 🙏
Thanks!
I am interested in becoming an accountant but I suck at math. Can I still become one? Do you need to know like calculus, fractions etc?
Teacher here. No way that teaching is a low stress job.
Thanks bro
