The way the interview starts with Mohan being a lil held back and being concise with words and holding a neutral emotion, and by the midway, both of em are cracking up and chilling. This right here is a masterclass by Rangan Vaathiyar. This is how you put people at ease and carry on a conversation. The way he shifts questions to comfort zone and let mohan talk about his experience and then organically follow on the points is just a pleasure to watch.
I read your comment before starting the video...and I felt that moment you just narrated...wow BR is such a good person in Making his guests comfortable
Can't explain but... I teared up for the question abt SPB... The reply was so so heartfelt.. whole interview is so realistic and from the heart...BR's one of the best.. and 55+mins was less to me...
I rarely watch hour-long interviews in one sitting but this one I couldn’t stop. Thoroughly enjoyed this interview BR - so much nostalgia. Absolutely loved the reason he gave for not doing Anjali.
Our college days hero . Every movie of his , we used bunk to classes and watch with friends in coimbatore theatres like KG cinemas karpagam complex and baba complex . All super hit . Mostly 1st day 1 st show
Why I appreciate BR is that this is the third time I am watching Mohan’s interview. The other two anchors are asking about the people with whom he has worked. But no one asked questions about his extraordinary work. BR ASKED THAT.. And Mohan's answer is also very good. ❤❤
@@ramyashree56 Yep, he looked excessively lean even in his younger days and those bodily features have become his trademark even now. The aspect of "very lean" is different from a good muscular physique. Nevertheless, with wig and dye as his companions, he is trying to look young. There are no wrinkles near his eyes or tagging cheeks which is definitely to his advantage.
No words to say he's such an humble actor ,Despite years of gap he was so updated with current cinema trend nd hope he will get another round n please his audience.
Mohan’s popularity was due to a certain dubbing Artist’s voice. As per gossip/unofficial sources, Mohan became arrogant after a successful few years in the cinema industry and had a misunderstanding with that dubbing artist. That is when his downfall started (in early-mid 90s). Now you decide if he is really humble.
What a beautiful, refreshing interaction indeed. I always thought Mohan was a reticent person who didn't share much about his life. BR beautifully brought out gems from him and Mohan also seemed to really enjoy the experience. The man is so knowledgeable and updated about so many facets of cinema; he's also very humble and has so much respect for his craft, peers, the newcomers, the legends of the past, etc. Media completely misrepresented him in the past, which is such a shame. Glad that BR did this to clear so many misconceptions about him, and he kept it very casual. Great watch!
First of all, my sincere thanks to the interviewers and broadcasters for arranging an interview with the legend, Mohan Sir! What a comeback. I can't believe how he looks right now. He hasn't aged at all. I'm going crazy watching him over and over again. He takes us back to the 80s and his blockbusters. I'm so jealous of the interviewer and crew who had the chance to meet him directly and spend time with him. I wish I could meet him too. What an insight he gave us. I enjoyed every second of it. Stay blessed, Mohan Sir. I'm a crazy fan of yours.
So surprising to note that BR has never met the great SPB in person. We've missed a great interview. Actor Mohan has a lovely way of recounting anecdotes. He has regaled us with nuggets of info about so many personalities - Balu Mahendra, KB Sir, Ilaya Raja and SPB Sir. BR you missed asking Mohan how it was working with Mahendran Sir.
40:20 - Mohan's career had 3 PILLARS: 1. Maestro ILAYARAJA's non-stop rain of MUSIC (95% of his career. 40:25 - Mohan said it right. Ilayaraja NEVER had any bias) 2. SPB's golden voice 3. S. N. Surendar's dubbing with softness / perfect sync. 4th comes his improved acting post mid-80s. He deserved the title "Mike Mohan", doing excellent lip-sync for songs as if he was the singer. My favorite movies: Mouna Raagam, Paadu Nilaave, PayaNangaL Mudivadhillai, Magudi, Udhaya Geetham, Idhaya Koyil, Mella Thirandhadhu Kadhavu, Kunguma Chimizh, December PookkaL, Nenjaththai KiLLaadhe, and Naan Paadum Paadal. In Uruvam, it was an unexpected role which he did quite well; IR's background Score was spine-chilling. 45:56 - For PayaNangaL Mudivadhillai, there was a 100-feet-tall CUT-OUT for Ilayaraja; ONLY INDIAN COMPOSER to enjoy such privileges through his prowess in MUSIC. Ilaya Nilaa was so popular that it was copied in Hindi too! It is not feasible to make every movie a silver-jubilee through music alone; but IR was able to rope in people to theaters via his songs, right from AnnakkiLi. BR was being cheeky when it comes to IR. "80s' biggest genius"?! WHO was the "biggest genius" after IR?! BR was simply making room for his favorite; sadly nobody could boost careers of actors, directors, producers like IR! There are ONLY A FEW NON-Ilayaraja hits during those times, not just with respect to Mohan! Even there, it is just 'hits', and not timeless music like what IR gave. In Mella Thirandhadhu Kadhavu, IR wanted to, and was happy to co-compose with MSV. Other music directors never had/have that magnanimity. It also takes that much KNOWLEDGE / sensibility to work with someone like MSV. NO media brought up any such issue regarding Mohan / IR; maybe, BR is feeding a new "topic"! This interview is more or less similar to the one done by Suhasini.
BR started with a god damn right question. I remember Uruvam a horror film and after that there was a very long gap. I am an ardent fan of Mohan. Nice to see him back.
What an interview - for a person like me who was a school going kid in the early 80s - Mohan & Isaignani combo was the ultimate - such an outstanding human being and his answers are so real - Thanks BR for an excellent interview!
as 90's Kid, Mohan oda oru movie kuda Theatre la pathadhu illa, only few movies TH-cam la pathurukan, but still I missing 'Surender's Voice' epdiyo connect ayiruchi mind la...
What an excellent interview it is! He answered to all the questions modestly. His Hara should be a super hit and he should have a good come back and rock again.
Interesting questions & interesting answers. The whole conversation was a breeze , effortless in its flow & yet so profound and insightful. The beauty of BR's interviews lies in the layers he taps into to get to the core of the interviewee's thought processes & to make the latter open up straight from the heart.
I admire BR and he's always one of the person whom I look up too when comes to moderating talks. As stated by Mohan, he makes it like conversation and the questions he posed makes the guest to think yet it's relatable. The way he handled the coversation today was very professional, yuet he manage to inject humor here and there. Great to know, more indepth about the actor today.
Mohan sir was the ultimate hero for me growing up..I was in awe when he died with Julie in Kilinjal...in "Nooravuthu naal" I was in disbelief when he was the killer. But kudos to pull that character
Mohan sir I have watched many of your movies in my young age now 70 I am so happy to see you accept your spiritual attitude without hypocrisy your sabbatical helped you contemplate I suppose
Uruvam is actually underrated for his acting..it’s one of the few movies where the hero acted really good with horror amidst all the special effects in a horror movie!!! he could have given a come back with Uruvam-2 🔥
He is very interesting in sharing all minute details and good conversationalist...wish to hear him as just Mohan other than actor Mohan..good interview BR
Such a lovely interview. Could have asked more about Mouna Ragam, the similarity between Nenjathai Killaadhe and Mouna Ragam where he played the different roles. Also could have asked about Shamitabh which is loosely based on the tiff between Mohan and SN Surendar.
My college days crush 😍 I watched almost all of his films. My cousins used to tease me 😀 because I used to tell them that I wanted to marry Mohan. Thanks to social media for interviewing him. He’s really so humble. I just can’t believe he’s so grounded even after all these success. ❤❤❤❤
Mohan is awesome! After seeing this interview, strongly feel that it will be great if Maniratnam sir do Idhaya kovil Part 2 with Mohan. It will be awesome. The continuation of the part 1.
I doubt if Mohan was indeed involved directly in TV serial productions- though he might have financed it. Because frequently questions would be asked where Mohan was but no answer would be forthcoming. If indeed he was in TV serial productions, it would not have been difficult to trace him. Something happened to Mohan post Uruvam which he is unwilling to share. We are happy to see our favourite actor Mohan back!

What a beautiful breezy interview, and what a Genuine person Mohan is, he deserves an even better place in Tamil Cinema, May God Bless him even more.

Curious how old are you?

Seems this person had a peaceful life, look at him he is too young for his age 67 he just looks like past 50.
The magic of wig and dye makes him relatively young.
@@michael8597 have you seen his body, to his age he has good fitness. Not wig and dye could make him young.
