I love it, .....and I like the QUALITY of diction when they sing, you can hear every word
Great! Happy School operas of G and S, remembered fondly.
MY goodness, I haven't heard this since I sang this in my high school's production of The Pirates of Penzance, nearly 60 years ago!
Did you do the police Sargeant made famous by the late Tony Azito?
In memoriam of the late Tony Azito who was the Sargent in the Central park production.
Brilliant! Cheers from Australia.
CRIKEY this is top quality for an 'am dram' GROUP!
Excellent G and S. Most enjoyable!
Thank you Colin. We loved this production
Great voices!
Thanks Maria
The police Sgt has a spectacular voice.
Brilliant - G & S would surely approve!
Super performance by all, thank you
Great production!!!!
The "chief constable" was obviously trained at Monty Pythons' "Ministry of Silly Walks."
I think it's more inspired in some part by the original performance where the character was portrayed by a man with double-joints.
What a sad-looking lot of policemen. Perfectly cast!
Incredible staging
That was brilliant! If the cast enjoy themselves, then the audience will surely do! But I always think this particular bit of G & S has overtones of Deux (or Bold) Gendarmes from Offenbach's operetta Genevieve de Brabant!
They remind me of the Watch from Discworld.
excellent!!
A little Monty Python "silly walks" reference there, no?
"It's not VERY silly, is it?" "I'm hoping to get a grant to develop it".
PBS and the BBC did a series of G and S operas Pirates of Penzance was one of them.
Bravooooooooooo
Thanks Simpson's
My mother works at Gilbert and sunivill
Pity you cut out the solo pieces. I've been singing this for 50 years or more and I love it - but why chop it up?
