This is one of the few channels where after finding it I went back to watch all of the older videos regardless of wether they’re the current project. I think what sets this channel apart from others aside from the film quality and excellent story telling is the aesthetic, it seems you make content because you want to and as a side project rather than a mouse chasing the cheese because they want to make it big on TH-cam or be an influencer. You channel is unique and your projects are intriguing. It feels like a passion project. Keep it up
The passion. The silence, the pauses between takes. The close ups. The views. There is just something calming and soothing on your videos. Where ever you take us, we will go with you. Keep up the amazing content. F youtube and its craziness. Cheers from Portugal
David your videos are like a fine whisky in a sea of coors light. The pacing and stillness of your videos invites the audience to slow down and enjoy well crafted art. Thank you for keeping us all up to date on your adventures. Might I suggest a bit of a merch campaign to make the videos worth your while? I (and I am sure other subscribers) would love to support more quality content in whatever way we can!
maybe there are not many people who appreciate not shouting at a camera and obnoxious music in videos but I'm happy your channel exists , a channel that operates within highly defined standards and structure in its videos. I would like you to do more uncut videos among your regular uploads so that we could follow along on minor details of your projects and workshop and at the same time it wouldn't consume all your energy editing every video.
What keeps me coming back is the way your do everything. How you build your cars. Edit your video, and most importantly, the dedication. In the future I would like to see another George or 924 over land build. I enjoy your content so very much.
I’ve been following you since the Baltic Sea Circle Rally. Answering your question, I come back to this channel because of the creationism. The way you combine photography, cinematography with roadtrips and repair work on old cars. It’s just perfection. If I am able to ask for something, please keep road-tripping, please keep restoring.
You offer a great mix of builds, roadtripping, phenomenal cinematography, and your own personality. No matter the direction you take - as long as you maintain at least a couple of those I will along for the ride!
Yeah. This. There is a small group of like minded people who love what you do. We are each pursuing our own dreams in our own way amidst the challenges of having limited budget, limited time and pressing family needs. Maybe only one or two people who share our passion will ever cross our paths, so this channel becomes a community. We’re friends who’ve never met.
Quite frankly, I find myself coming back to this channel because it is the only channel I know, that conveys the feeling that I get when I work on and involve myself with my vintage cars. 80s Merc and 70s Mazda. Sure, they can be pure pain like your driveshaft issue, but taking your time and just enjoying the process of working on them and therefore becoming a part of the vehicle's history feels just so special to me. Your channel is one of the very few that appreciate and display that unique factor of classic car ownership, that only a few other hobbies can be compared to.
Both your mechanical and cinematographic ability shines. Road trips are a great escape and those adventures are also part of your channel. The story of the build, of great cars by the way, and then the road trip I find engaging and inspirational. TH-cam is a tough one, cheap or sensational content unfortunately spreads and swamps the algorithm. But there's a crowd of us seeking to watch the content you produce...interesting cars, builds, trips wrapped in stylishly produced videos.
I keep coming back because I wish it was me making this content. There is no other channel like yours. The cinematography and storytelling is precise, just like the amount of attention you put into restoring a car. This is a beautiful place to be in, a calm workshop with old machines, remnants of when the world was more sane, opposite to what they feed us with today (as you mentioned people screaming in videos etc). On the other hand, looking at number of views in your recent videos, it is also a sad reminder people cant appreciate such work. Personally though, I would watch anything you make haha.
Why do i come back. Because of You, The quality of your content, The passion you have. Its all amazing. I dont care if its a Euro car or an American. You could work on a electric bike and id watch every video. You tell stories through passionate videography and for me its something i admire so very much. You dont have to have some crazy background to do that. Your willingness to jump in and just learn is everything. While youtube may sadly never bless you with the algorithm. I'm blessed with every video you choose to make; to watch and i will do so until you choose to stop. Much love from the US~
I feel the same as many other commenters.. I come back because of the interesting and unique projects your work on. I can tell you’re passionate about all in their own way. And of course the great (halfway decent as you put it) editing and storytelling. All of this really sets your channel apart. Cheers from TN, USA.
You’re channel is one of two that I watch consistently. I still sometimes go back and watch the old videos. Since I showed this channel to my girlfriend its the only car related channel that she looks forward to watching due to the takes and simplicity of what you do. Beautiful pictures and video. I look forward to the same content you have been putting out… roadtrips and the honesty behind the struggles of fixing and driving “old cars”. This channel motivates me to fix and want to take my 85 alfa romeo on a 3000 mile roadtrip
I can only speak for myself ofcourse, but I very much think this will apply to most of your viewers. Your channel seems te be one of the rare channels who dont favor succes over genuineness and quality. Also your story is very relatble to a car guy who works on his own cars without real technical background or education. It inspires me to keep on working on the cars even if it sometimes feels like a never ending gig(like your 205 right now).
What is so great about this channel? The love! The love in cars. The love in cutting and editiing and filming. The somewhat unusual approach. The similarities in my own car projects. The mistakes that are not cut out. Your work is polished (in other words: made with a distinctive and unique style) but shows flaws, problems and authenticity which makes it so relatable. Season 1 lacked a bit of a "story" but that got way better. And furthermore, if we had met somehow without me knowing this channel, we probably wouldn't even have talked that much with each other. And i am more than happy to see people sharing the same passion, even if i would have never expected this. Yeah, pretty superficial, i know. So just keep it rolling as long as it makes you happy and share your projects with us please. It does not have to be a RB26 or 2JZ swapped Trabbi to get our attention. I wish there would be more channels like this! (I dig Jethro Bronner's or Ultimostile's Alfa videos, or Greasy Fingers Porsche stuff - but there must be more out there)
Your Channel is one of the rare hidden diamonds on TH-cam. I love the style and the way you are doing this Videos. Finding it like two years ago you even encouraged me to get 924 as the project for 2023! Keep going man! You are awesome!
As most people commented its about the aestetics combined with the satisfaction from you perfecting yet another detail in the project car. This is what I like to watch on my iPad when cozying up in a dim-lit corner of my home the last hour before going to bed. But to be honest I have to say for this project car I'm a bit amused with the stereotypical clash between the neverending, unpredictable breakdowns of an old french car and the patient struggle of a meticulous german mechanic.
Well.. I keep coming back here for the quality, sometimes the hard hitting reality, and the forever poetry that fills your videos. I could not care less to see an overhyped moron pointing the camera at his own ego while screaming. I am more of a "Davide Cironi drive experience" kind of guys. Quality, experiences and sometimes unintended valuable teachings. I can watch all the DDE, Stradman etc... i want, i won't remember it as a close the Tab. My best advice to you would be: YOU DO YOU! That is why i am here, and can wait for months on end between videos. You being You never disappoint. And your hardships and struggles do not deter from watching and enjoying your content. That's life, it happens to all of us. ^__-
I like this channel because it is so different from all the other automotive ones. Instead of the typical hype and borderline manic content, it's relaxing and real.
To answer your question. This channel in addition to Soup Classic Motoring are those which I keep coming back to. The reason(s)? The combination of restoration, narrative, visuals, editing and storytelling. Standouts in your case, were both the restoration/conversion and subsequent road trips of both George and the black 924 rally, with a particular highlight being your stop over at Cool and Vintage. The Pug needs to be binned if I am being honest, there is something sinister about that car. I repeat the sentiment of @InverseTundraON you could work on anything, as long as the aforementioned components play out in your content then I am a fan for life. Keep up the good fight. BTW you inspired me to start my own project. Land Rover Discovery 300TDi 1998
I got into your channel from your 924 videos, and grew to appreciate all that you are doing. Never give up, do only things you want to do...the ones who value that will stick with you.
My absolute favourite car related channel is yours, love the quality of the content, both cinematics and your personal approach to working and enjoying these cool cars. You could do pretty much anything as long as you don`t pretend to be someone else. Surely not easy to work for others then being a father and husband and then do these also, but maybe have someone help you to churn out more of the projects, or have a separate playlist for how to videos. Maybe attend at classic car meets, engage with viewers in some way. Sadly you can have the best business if people don`t know about it. Best wishes!
I love the white 924, such a cool car - when it isnt broken of course. This is a great channel, enjoy the trips, cars and scenery combined, best of both worlds, hope you keep it going
I discovered your channel a few weeks ago and ever since I've been looking at my two cars in a whole different way and experiencing my trips in a more conscious manner. I thank you for that. There is so much authenticity and respect (for the cars, the places and work) in all you do. Please, keep doing it. TH-cam needs people like you, who set the higher part of the standard. Thank you.
Oh, and two more things: 1. Thank God you left the 205 behind. I think we all felt it wasn't worth it. 2. Your English is mesmerizing. One can see the same level of care in your vocabulary and grammar as you put in the rest of things.
I like this channel because you don’t sugarcoat everything and I can’t see it becoming a screaming money grab like a lot of other car content creators. Albeit I do watch their videos but I am equally invested in seeing you succeed and learn. Personally I like seeing the content you put out now although some money from TH-cam would definitely help you do more more frequently. All the best mate you have my full support. A donations or merchandise link would be good once you have a larger fan base and a brand you can push.
I watch and keep coming back to this channel because it’s quiet and reflective and you make everything look amazing. I really appreciate the TH-cam channels like yours, shushpants and mini life (over in japan) because of the approach which is not loud and in your face but personal and informative. Double down on that! Embrace it lol. I’ll watch your channel as long as you’re uploading stuff. Good luck! This TH-cam thing looks hard 😅
It only becomes a challenge once the amount of time put in should yield at least some return. As a collection of memories it is beautiful, but there is a fine line...
Awesome! Really looking forward to your new projects! Hope the algorithm changes to include your style of video's, I really dont think you should change. Your projects, shots, calm, skills and charm really sets you apart and makes your videos of the highest quality. Love what you're doing, you really inspired me to start working on cars and taking on projects I didn't think I was capable of. Hope your little peugeot starts behaving soon! 😆
I love your photography and sense of humour where you explain things without words, also that you have a 924 like me. I'm not sure that you should change any of that.
I started watching your videos cause if the adventures videos with George but then you started sharing mechanical videos and I enjoyed it as well, so.. keep doing whatever you like to do, you’ll still have another subscriber to watch your content, thank you!
I want to see more of your uniquely talented, creative content - more road trip adventures, more mechanical adventures, and above all much more Porsche content!
Hey!
I found your channel because was looking for some content on safari 924. Stayed for an amazing climate. Your videos have wonderful cinematics, very plastic shots. Slow pacing makes viewer to feel like being part of those roadtrips. You inspire to take a car and drive somewhere, see the landscapes and just enjoy. I feel like this level can only be achieved by creator who does only what feels like doing, as a passion project. The reason I watch is because I want to see what else you can show, not to see what I ordered to see. Unfortunately by following this road you won't get millions of views as YT became source of getting fun quickly, for short attention span. Your content is for calm evenings to relax and feel that atmosphere. At this point you need to ask yourself whether you want to keep this special or to have lots of subs, I'll be here whichever you choose
In terms of what I want to see/hear? Don't ever say Like, Comment, Subscribe again... 🤣🤣 Seriously though. It was your Range Rover overlanding that originally caught my attention, and I have stayed ever since. I like the idea of overlanding. I currently have a 1997 Toyota Hiace Granvia 4wd that I converted to a camper. Overland travel is so limited in the UK that we have to look to Europe to really stretch our legs. Hoping to get to Sweden in May to see what we can get up to. I enjoy your approach, and the choice of cars you end up with. Keep it up!
Former Product Planner here for two of the world's largest automakers. You keep mentioning your lack of qualifications, yet you firmly have my interest. What would I like to see? Well, ironically, you have a few vehicles around and work WITH and ON them in a very similar way as I do with my odd little fleet of passionately loved vehicles. Since there are fewer and fewer people like you and I who actually enjoy BOTH the work and the time enjoying them - more of both? The story(s) of the cars are fun. The drives are fun. At the moment you need more work on them and that's actually what I would like to see more of. Work. Let's see the measurement process for those failing RF axles to determine which is too short or too long, then the process of obtaining the correct one. Etc. In other words, dive right in and let us sit in your shop and listen to your blend of philosophy and technical commentary interwoven as you get these girls back on the road. And yes - I'd wear a shirt that says "Only A Roadtrip Away" - especially if it had a nice artistic outline of a 944 on it (mine's Guard's Red)....
I agree with most of the comments, you have a different way of filming, and your are an Young charismatic dude, the passion is easy to see. I have been watcing most videos several times, so keep it up :-) and on the top of that,to be selfmade as a mecanic at your skill set is great, love it ! best regards from a Norwagian, world champion, gear head, hunt/fishing and outdoors man that also like and have some old porsches 🙂
This may seem uninsureing and dull, but I would love to see more of the same. Road trips, restorations, vintage cars, frustrated you fixing issues I myself would likley not have the pasiance to tackle 😂
Your channel is one of my favourites because of the unique visual storytelling! Some things that might help you grow could be: More dramatic titles and thumbnails to videos and more frequent uploads. You dont have to sell your soul and start to shout at the camera as you said, but minor changes could have a big impact. Maybe more these type of uncut videos side by side with your beautiful thought out videos. I would love to see this channel grow because it truly deserves a lot more eyeballs! I would like to see roadtrips, car building and also something to do with your job as a filmmaker. The stories are why we are here for. Really excited to see where this goes!
What Cestus said. I love your demeanor and find it way more entertaining that a screaming host trying to outdo what they posted last week. I hope you can find a way to keep the channel going but I can also totally understand the challenges in doing it. You have a real talent for producing these videos I just wish the algorithm was half as talented at finding people like you to promote. Just do what will make you happy and if the rest of us get to go along for the ride then that would be awesome.
Do you enjoy what you’re doing? Are you having fun building cars and making high quality content? If so then keep doing it. I’m here because I love seeing you do what you do, with the added enjoyment of your crispy production. Don’t do this for the numbers TH-cam tells you… Do it for you and we’ll be here for it when you do :)
Also, your films are so inspiring. They inspire me to do better with my productions (my actual job, don’t really post anything). But the way you tell stories, the music you choose and composition, it builds such emotion and I crave more and more. Absolutely love watching your content!!
Just keep doing what your doing! Your videos are informative, interesting and entertaining and I'm always curious to see what will pop up next in the workshop. For someone with no formal mechcanical training you always amaze me with what you do, the standard of the workmsnship and the no job too big attitude. Fancy coming over to the UK and doing a bit of work on my 916 Alfa Spider??!!
Your channel is the only one if have notifications turned on for! Whatever you do in the future, I will watch with a bowl of popcorn! Personnaly i love the amazing shots and storytelling you produce in your videos. I'm a big camping guy but your videos have made me interested in weird cars too! Keep going you are awesome!
Hello there.. I feel you, questioning the Future of the Channel. Quality Is excelent, I love the way you do the things - with the Cars, the way you present the videos, the Channel. But the views absolutely don't reflect that. Shame for you, hidden gems for us viewers. Absolutely understand the frustration. Whatever the Future of your Channel Is, please try to post a video Once in a while because they Are just Joy to watch And I love your work. Thank you for that my friend. Best of luck.
As for me, i just thoroughly enjoy your content on an almost meditational (?) level, for the calmness and quality of execution both in video and mechanics. Also, you almost had me buying a Disco 2, settled for a Toyota Hiace now though, thanks to emissions and 4x4 Prices. If you can afford to, i would love for you to just keep doing things your way not minding the view count. There's plenty examples of channels not chasing the algorithm while still being successful, I guess if it doesn't feel like a grind you can still pride yourself on making a specific nieche of people happy, while hopefully having fun with youtube as a hobby. Shoutouts to Geoffrey Croker, also, more Overlanding please! Grüße aus Heidelberg
I love watching your restorations and I enjoy your roadtrips, keep it up. Re; the drive shafts they're the symptom but whats the cause? I wonder if its been in an accident at some point and knocked some brackets out of aliggnment. Chin up and keep plugging away.
The car is dead straight... Apparently someone swapped the hub carriers for 309 ones unknowing they are not identical. Those ±10mm make all the difference. To be updated...
I am not really sure how you should get the algorithm your way, but the way your videos are now is more than perfect for me. What is your aim? 50k subscribers?
I've been trying to figure out why the camping Porsche seems to pull me back. I watch it to calm myself, but I cannot figure out why it does that...only that it does. The Baltic tour does the same thing, but I have a better idea as to why...the cinematography, drone work and music is exquisite. When you are up in Lofoten was the best!!! Just WOW!!! I subscribe to a Norwegian gentleman (Bjorn Andreas Bull-Hansen) and he is having some of the same issues with TH-cam as you hinted to. His response was, he will make the content that his viewers want and if the algorithm doesn't like it, he's okay with that. For your own sake, please keep doing it until the passion starts to wane...even if nobody is watching. Good travels...
I think the subscribers you are getting are not gonna leave you once they subscribed. So even if the growth is slow compared to the work you are putting in here, you will make it. I’m pretty sure about that.
It‘s a bit weird overall because a ‚standard‘ youtube mindset isn‘t really applicable to this channel. Had this talk the other day, but I don‘t want to make it lower quality or be someone else.
Happy to see you do your thing, wish you’d grow out of that french affair and get more into the oldschool 924 some more. That 931 looks very nice, similar state to what mine was when i got it…even the door damage looks similar to what i had. I hope you’ll try to repair that door and keep it. You know me..i wish you’d do a spiced up 924NA and drive that around, but thats just me projecting my own wishes and dreams onto others, so dont take that too seriously. Whats up with the dead looking 924 next to the french thing?
That dead 79 is my very first car, now a parts car for a decade. I don't think going back to 2.0 is going to happen, but there will be transaxle stuff coming. The 931 is going to be proper old school, but there is no cash to fund it right now. It's also the reason my 79 shell still exists in full - way easier to swap parts over.
I’m here only to see your stories. So I don’t care what’s the video is about as long as you do what you like and let other to see a portion of that. Fck TH-cam’s algorithms. There’re so many identical channels with overexcited people making videos based on internet rules only to please the audience. I’m glad that your channel is different.
Som of your content i personly enjoyd the most wer those you tock a car on an adventure and made creative modifikations to enhance the journey. My favorite top gear episodes had the same premis.
Your content is absolutely fantastic - not only the production quality. That also seems to be the overwhelming conclusion in the comments :-) so it‘s probably not helping you a lot when we say „give us more of the same in the years to come“ ;-)
I keep coming back because it's different....no shouting about the latest V8 install in some ridiculous inappropriate car 😂 I was originally drawn to channel as a 924 lover ❤️ but we seem to like the same cars 205 great choice...I would still love to know where you get the 924 wide arches from don't think anyone makes them anymore 🤔 especially in England....keep up with the high quality non shouting.....it works 👍
PEFA, made and sold in Germany. Fit terribly, very expensive and the chassis should be cut for a good fit... And as you've seen, there are some 24s sitting around. 😁
Hi, I'm new to the channel ( TH-cam suggested it) I don't know what work you've done to the 205 in the past, have you fitted longer suspension arms from a 309 or something? Obviously this could be why your driveshafts keep popping out 🤷🏻♂️
The reason why my car failed was because 309 arms work with 205 shafts when lowered. My car is stock with fresh dampers. Just fitted 205 wishbones today - no more noise at all, even with the formerly binding SKF shaft. 🫠 Full conclusion in next weeks episode.
Anyway, a few naive ideas for the channel, now that you have your own humble little shed: maybe involve a few friends as regular contributors for the element of human interaction… cover your project cars in parallel to theirs… if any :/) … connect building the cars again more tightly with the road trip to come (as it was very intensely done for the Range Rover and the black 924)… choose a project where your intended use case of the car is even further from its intended habitat as in the past…
Did you lend your widebody white 924 to Martin Miller for his music video? BTW the early 924 Turbo in that strange two-tone is so cool. It's not even normal two-tone!
It was a mix - The car was rented for the production and I was in charge of the automotive shots and did some of the driving as well. Was a fun day out. Only the early turbos came in those weird 2-tone schemes. It's not going to stay though, despite being rare.
(PS: Kennst Du die Peking to Paris Rally? Wäre das etwas was Du vielleicht mal machen wollen würdest?)
Peking to Paris interessiert mich schon eine ganze Weile.
Gefallen tut Er Mir trotzdem 😅
@@OnlyARoadtripAway i think 309 hub carriers were identical to 205 and even 306 ones. As far as i know 309 had wider subframe and longer controll arms Edit: do you have bumpstops on the stearing rack ? maby it just stears to much ? I have complete 205 gti 1.9 stearing and suspension in mine, and turn radious is worst than in my Skoda Octavia II
We compared a bunch of measurements between a race-setup 1.6 GTI and mine, and the only difference is the distance from hub to intermediate bearing housing. The 309 has different steering, arms and hub carriers, the subframe is the same. It‘s also obvious when looking at arch to wheel clearance on mine vs the race car. My wheel sticks out almost the exact 10ish mm that the shaft needs to be extended to bolt up.
As an update on this, the carriers are indeed identical - chances are my wishbones ended up being a china special with part numbers for both 309 and 205... And running lowered they would probably work fine. Final resolve hopefully next week!
You zig while others zag. Most car channels provide a superficial engagement of the vehicle. Its either the latest unaffordable supercar being reviewed, or people reviewing cars from the past promoting either and insurance company or their used vehicle online sale website. You are different. You are the opposite of Tik Tok superficiality. You care about the content in an unselfish way with no desparate bid to flatter the viewer's ego or to monetize your content. You do it for love and passion. However, conceptualizing, shooting, editing and finalizing a video such as yours takes time. Unless you are independently wealthy, you can only do it so long without being rewarded for such work. Your choice is to continue making content and setup a Patreon account and ask viewers to chip in a few bucks for early access to content. Then on a time-delayed basis, you release such content to TH-cam to keep the channel going. The world and by extension the algorithms which control the world do not always reward the best quality. In an attention economy measured in seconds, those who trade in visual, compositional narrative don't always get the most clicks. Yet TH-cam is the platform for a creator to get noticed and to establish a following.
I really don't want to denigrate other channels but there is so little on youtube that feels like it was made for adults. What you make has texture and feeling. It would be a shame to ruin it for the sake of popular appeal.
What is your goal with TH-cam? If you are hoping to make money with youtube you have to obey the algorithm and that means building aspirational cars and not the cars you are currently building. Let me be clear, I love your channel and your builds, but most people would not bother watching a build series on cheap cars that are older than they are. I.e. the pool of people who care about these kinds of builds is not large enough for you to grow a massive channel.
The reality is a large portion of the work isn't the glamorous stuff - the 924 was fairly easy because it was basically a pile with cool concepts added on. The Rover, 924S and now the 205 are much more involved and have to perform on a whole different level. Still, I think there are some interesting ideas left. 😁
Well I will be right here watching @@OnlyARoadtripAway. Oh and from a completely selfish point of view, I really hope you start the 924 Turbo build soon😎
Keep it up
100% agree on this! Also watched older the videos
What Will said! I couldn‘t agree more. I enjoyed watching every single video on your channel. Just keep this classy style of videos.
Well you nailed it - it is exactly that, a passion project.
I couldn’t agree more
Discovered your channel years ago on overlanding adventures. Nice to reconnect with the channel!
Maybe I'll revisit the merch in the future, but for now the effort to create the quality I would want just isn't viable.
maybe there are not many people who appreciate not shouting at a camera and obnoxious music in videos but I'm happy your channel exists , a channel that operates within highly defined standards and structure in its videos. I would like you to do more uncut videos among your regular uploads so that we could follow along on minor details of your projects and workshop and at the same time it wouldn't consume all your energy editing every video.
I come back for the excellent cinematography and raw passion. Your videos are unlike any other car channel.
For all it's worth, the message I want to convey apparently comes across exactly as intended. 🥳
Keep it real and alive! This channel is so heavily underrated. But as you also might know - the world isn't dancing to architecture...
Funny that I had just found David Cironi's channel two weeks back and seriously liked his barn find series!
Thank you.
Oh, and two more things:
1. Thank God you left the 205 behind. I think we all felt it wasn't worth it.
2. Your English is mesmerizing. One can see the same level of care in your vocabulary and grammar as you put in the rest of things.
Don't worry, the 205 is here to stay (apparently as an immovable object rather than means of transport) and thank you for the compliment!
The Porsche Camper made me Stay.
Same her
I like this channel because you don’t sugarcoat everything and I can’t see it becoming a screaming money grab like a lot of other car content creators.
I come back for the quality videos and the way you present things. And I like quirky old cars.
The content you create is timeless, keep creating timeless content that you enjoy making and you'll be alright!
Exciting projects!! More 924 stuff!! But seriously, the editing, subjects, passion is why your channel is great!
The end of this video sums it up perfectly. Quality.
Well as you've seen, there should be plentiful.
I come back fro so many reasons mentioned above, plus the road trips. Stay strong !
And I also want to add that I really love late 80s and 90s cars. All boxy and modern I think they are really really cool.
These are my favorite videos on youtube by far!
In terms of what I want to see/hear?
Don't ever say Like, Comment, Subscribe again... 🤣🤣
Seriously though.
Keep it up!
Such a relaxing channel. Best quality I have seen in years! Keep up the great work!
Because your channel is very calming
I agree with most of the comments, you have a different way of filming, and your are an Young charismatic dude, the passion is easy to see. I have been watcing most videos several times, so keep it up :-) and on the top of that,to be selfmade as a mecanic at your skill set is great, love it ! best regards from a Norwagian, world champion, gear head, hunt/fishing and outdoors man that also like and have some old porsches 🙂
keep going...love the channel
This may seem uninsureing and dull, but I would love to see more of the same. Road trips, restorations, vintage cars, frustrated you fixing issues I myself would likley not have the pasiance to tackle 😂
I like the video’s a lot , keep going, I have my self a 944 so I like to see al the cool 924 👌🏼👌🏼
You are inspiring mate! Whatever you do, do it with your style and vision
I love the tour of the workshop projects (of course the RRC) and the 924. Old cars hidden away always get me excited 🙌
I guess you'll like next weeks upload then, which just by coincidence is job related. The rest should be coming either way!
Thank you for what you do sir .
Get the 931 going! I have one to. They need more love.
I am not sure my patience is there for a semi-modern Alfa... 😂
Anything can be a camper!
Quality is what you do. Just keep at it. Don't let issues side track you. The 205 is almost there keep the faith
Croker is an absolute hero and his individual skills are wicked!
To be updated...
absolutely love this channel. Keep it up!
I am not really sure how you should get the algorithm your way, but the way your videos are now is more than perfect for me. What is your aim? 50k subscribers?
There is no happiness in numbers, but opportunity sometimes is. ✌🏼
I deeply respect that and speaking for myself, I could never change for popularity.
I love your videos man they are beautiful, even the colour grading is crazy
I want to see you transform any cool car into the coolest road trip véhicule. Again and again
It's also the reason my 79 shell still exists in full - way easier to swap parts over.
would be great to see more of the 205 !
I can almost guarantee that. And then some.
Respect
I’m here only to see your stories. So I don’t care what’s the video is about as long as you do what you like and let other to see a portion of that. Fck TH-cam’s algorithms. There’re so many identical channels with overexcited people making videos based on internet rules only to please the audience. I’m glad that your channel is different.
love your channel! keep going!
@@OnlyARoadtripAway excellent thanks keep up the good work 👌 I recon the turbo is a rally project waiting to happen 👌🤣
Hey,
I came here for an esthetic education. And I'm staying
Hi, I'm new to the channel ( TH-cam suggested it) I don't know what work you've done to the 205 in the past, have you fitted longer suspension arms from a 309 or something? Obviously this could be why your driveshafts keep popping out 🤷🏻♂️
I only ordered parts by number. As it seems that isn't always going the right way. Stil haven't nailed the exact cause but wishbones might be it.
@@OnlyARoadtripAway time to get the tape measure out 😁 , apparently it is a mod that people do though
The reason why my car failed was because 309 arms work with 205 shafts when lowered. My car is stock with fresh dampers. Just fitted 205 wishbones today - no more noise at all, even with the formerly binding SKF shaft. 🫠 Full conclusion in next weeks episode.
@@OnlyARoadtripAway whoop whoop, result 👌
Anyway, a few naive ideas for the channel, now that you have your own humble little shed: maybe involve a few friends as regular contributors for the element of human interaction… cover your project cars in parallel to theirs… if any :/) … connect building the cars again more tightly with the road trip to come (as it was very intensely done for the Range Rover and the black 924)… choose a project where your intended use case of the car is even further from its intended habitat as in the past…
Oh you'd be surprised... 😁
@@OnlyARoadtripAway Ahh I'm so glad I recognised it!
There aren‘t many of these around I‘d guess. And I am probably the only one who ever dailied one. 😂
@@OnlyARoadtripAway Oh no there's a few in the club in the UK who daily drive their 924! Youngsters particularly.
Naaa, I meant a widebody. Those are almost exclusively track/rally builds. Haven't seen another street build on a 924S at all actually...
(PS: Kennst Du die Peking to Paris Rally? Wäre das etwas was Du vielleicht mal machen wollen würdest?)
Peking to Paris interessiert mich schon eine ganze Weile.
Gefallen tut Er Mir trotzdem 😅
maby you've got 309 gti lower control arms ?
they are longer, and might lead to driveshaft falling out
309 hub carriers it seems. 309 arms would give more camber, but work with standard 205 shafts...
@@OnlyARoadtripAway i think 309 hub carriers were identical to 205 and even 306 ones.
As far as i know 309 had wider subframe and longer controll arms
Edit:
do you have bumpstops on the stearing rack ? maby it just stears to much ?
I have complete 205 gti 1.9 stearing and suspension in mine, and turn radious is worst than in my Skoda Octavia II
We compared a bunch of measurements between a race-setup 1.6 GTI and mine, and the only difference is the distance from hub to intermediate bearing housing. The 309 has different steering, arms and hub carriers, the subframe is the same. It‘s also obvious when looking at arch to wheel clearance on mine vs the race car. My wheel sticks out almost the exact 10ish mm that the shaft needs to be extended to bolt up.
@@OnlyARoadtripAway good to know :)
Good luck finding right parts, i've had 1.6 hubcariers long ago but now i haven't seen one for sale in ages :/
As an update on this, the carriers are indeed identical - chances are my wishbones ended up being a china special with part numbers for both 309 and 205... And running lowered they would probably work fine. Final resolve hopefully next week!
Idea: Ford Bronco is over land build.
If I ever get stateside, I'd rock a 70s pickup of any kind from barn find to cross-country!
@@OnlyARoadtripAway that would be SO cool
Keep porsches
will do
I really don't want to denigrate other channels but there is so little on youtube that feels like it was made for adults.
