I doubt I have a prime example of a 205, else they would‘ve sold considerably less. With all my built up frustration that poor engine hopefully has some revs left to give. 🥲😁 Long live the spotlights!
I guess some old cars just like to make us humans angry, my Golf II really likes to annoy me, a few days ago my Ignition coil decided to not work anymore, so the engine ran like a bucket full of srews, before that my rear drum brake bearings got destroyed, before that the cooler was broken and it was leaking coolant like crazy and before that i had to replace my head gasket...lots and lots of stuff to do...but at some point it will run again perfectly and be as reliable as everyone tells you, the most important thing is to nut quit i guess, which can be really hard if everything starts to break down around you but still. Im really impressed by all the love and work you put into your cute and wonderful little 205, and im confident that it will a perfect car pretty soon! I wish you all the best!
hello brother greetings from Argentina that frustration does not win you, those we love these classics give you all our empenity and dedication for the love we have him, I have a 106 quicksilver and I have a thousands of things too, but love remains intact, soon too will I have a 205 gti 1.9 expect more videos, asking what lens you use in your camera ?
My ZX shakes and rattles whenever I accelerate, the more weight is in the car, the worse. Myself too, I think it's the drive shaft inner joint, as it does not click or bang when I turn, so it's not the outside, aaaand as I already changed motor mounts. Note: it gets a lot worse after you take it to a racetrack 😅
I took the thing apart yesterday and the matrix itself had well and truly failed. The O-rings, even though square and rock hard, were still sealing fine... 😗
@@OnlyARoadtripAway Interesting. I have a 205 Gentry with all the bells and whistles. Just no air con. A friend of mine had a 205 diesel from Spain with air con which he did not need any more. I bought it just to get my hands on the air con 😁. Hopefully it won’t be too much of a hassle to switch the hvac box under the dash. I will make sure at least the O rings are replaced if the heater matrix passes the test!

Isnt it funny how some cars just refuse to work no matter what you do, and once they do they instantly break down again. I have a Porsche 944 Turbo thats like that, so its mostly sitting cause I simply cant be fucked with it.
The vibration is maybe coming from the driveshaft. Maybe it's the inner joint. When these are dying they can give the same symptoms. Good luck wrenching again!
Yeah I learned that during the drive to the shop. Full cold seemed to limit the air passing by the leak though, which helped. Currently the heater is just bypassed until I can get around fitting a new core and fuel gauge. And the driveshafts... 😅

Well. You did a correct thing in setting it up on the 500 classics instead of the 500FFs!
On the Porsche the FFs looked right on point, but on the Pug they were just so wrong...

Ich hab das direkt nach der Fahrt geprüft - die rechte Gelenkwelle hat sich verkantet und bringt dadurch extreme Kräfte seitlich aufs Getriebe.
