It should be noted you should only touch the ceramic. You shouldn't touch the igniter, oil from your hands can cause premature failure of a new igniter. Good video! Keep it up.
I was quoted $400.00 for a weekend replacement of an igniter that was intermittently working. I'm not mechanically inclined but I was able to order one on Amazon and do it myself the next day for $30.00 in 15 minutes. I was looking at unscrewing 3 tiny screws and clipping a connection and couldn't bring myself to pay $400.00 for that. If you are on the fence about doing it yourself, go for it!
My HVAC company was out to do a cleaning on my furnace, which has only gone through only two winters and they suggested I replace my igniter. They wanted to charge me $330 to do so I declined and I found the nighter on Amazon for 30 bucks, I have to think that I can get more than two or three years out of my igniter.
You forgot the part about...DON'T SNEEZE!!!! 😁👌 Silicone nitride igniters are so much better than the silicone carbide ones. Whenever you see a guy going from his van to the house in the winter time and it looks like he's carrying a newborn baby, you know he's got a silicone carbide igniter in his hand. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Thank you for the tip

Exact same boat, Amazon order comes today. Our quote from trusted HVAC was $350. part was less than $30 bought ourselves. TH-cam was the last stop

Excellent easy to follow video. Ignitors like to go out on a very cold Sunday night. I keep a spare , new furnace igniter on hand just in case.
there are two different in size or length in that one , so which one is the correct one. 402 , 401 , 409 ?
Appreciate the video. Do I have to shut down the breaker or just turn switch off on furnace
I’ve heard that the silicon nitrate ones aren’t so super fragile? How can a diy get it ? Some places sell only to companies

Las letras no permiten ver como lo instalas por completo
