Stumbled onto your videos one day a few months back. Gold or no gold, really doesn't matter. You make entertaining videos and let us enjoy the beautiful scenic views from BC. Thanks.
Once again the river produced amazing gold and a beautiful bear! Once again my family loves every one of your videos. Cant wait for the next one. Much love from California!
That’s one of the things I like best about your channel you stop to smell the roses and film the black bears you give us history knowledge on plants thanks for being cool
9 times out of 10 when i go out to prospect, i never come back with any gold. Being out there in nature is reward, second to gold. I like that your videos as always.
Looked like a great day out at Pickerton with you and Smokey, nice gold. Love that rockscape there...and that Fraiser is flowing fast.. the zoom in makes it really look impressive. Nice flowers. All in all a great video...Have a great day and until your next video...Bye 👍.
Thanks Dan Hurd! Besides seeing the beauty in your pan I really enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. I lived my formative years in Alaska and panned gold in Resurrection Creek. I love that part of the world.
Its you Dan that is the entertainment with these vids- the gold is just a bonus ;) Its always nice to watch people with a burning interest in some field :)
Dan, As a Brit in Thailand your videos connect me with my 2nd great interest, the great outdoors and wildlife. Truly amazing to be priveliged to have a front seat view of that bear. Pickerton looks like a place that keeps on giving. I think it's about to surprise you someday in the future. Please take a fishing friend on one of your trips, would love to see what a good fishetman could pull out of that river while you find some good stuff! Tight Lines!
Mr Hurd,i just discovered you are a high school teacher,ALL teachers have my greatest respect,(PLEASE)forgive my earlier comment about finding gold flakes being boreing(PLEASE)
Well you must have had even a BIGGER smile on your face than you normally do when you saw the water level there on your Pickerton claim😁😁😁 Your videos are a pleasure to watch because your always so positive and they are family friendly👍 My dad was Canadian, born in Nova Scotia and raised in Montreal👍👍
I think we here in Scotland can match you in Canada for beautiful scenery, but you have bears!! That puts Canada well in the lead, thank you for showing me it. I've always meant to mention to you that I appreciate all the scenery you show us in your videos, including the flowers, other plants, and now bears too!! I come here for the gold and the process of getting it mainly and the nature documentary bits are a fantastic added bonus. Thank you.
Dan, my daughter loves watching your videos and she says " you're a very silly man" She's very excited to use her own little pan on paydirt and dirt around the house, she also enjoys the shots of flowers you take.
Just finish a long hard day and I would just like to say a new video from you made my day and made me smile. To get this reaction before I even watch the video means you make bloody good content good sir!
I always found just hanging by the river with it's sounds are soothing and relaxing and coupled with a cool hobby that sometimes even returns a little would just make for a great day. Glad i found your channel Dan, and enjoy watching you out and about ;-)
Great video and good gold! I am not a prospector, however, I really can appreciate your dedication to find gold and gems. It sure takes a lot of hard work and patience which as I have seen you have plenty.
merlin47181 Your right about Dan’s patience. I am a prospector in California where gold is just about EVERYWHERE. Also our rules are not as strict as in Canada. I’m not sure I could handle some of those rules for prospecting in Canada. But Dan does a great job👍
No, Dan, I'll NEVER watch again unless you get over a gram at a time! Why do you think I CAME here, anyway!? (Joking--I love your attitude and your approach to life, and THAT's why I come here. :) Keep it up!)
Great video once again,I shall name thee Gold Wizard 🧙♂️,I enjoy watching all you guys Vogus,Pioneer Pauly,Klesh Guitars, and your self of course, amazing stuff 🙂👍
Can't always find a pan full of nuggets! Seeing Yogi for the first time in years was nice. I enjoy watching the views as much as the gold! It's gold of it's own in a way. I know if I ever get out that way when you do one of your Patreon visits, my wife will be so busy with her camera, we might have to send out a search party if we don't keep an eye on her!
@@Danhurd try to never miss any, your honestly one of the only pages I thoroughly follow, thanks again for the great work and hope you're able to keep it up
Lovely place as always, there is a lot more than bears and Gold there. River is full of nice fish and I would love to get there someday and hook a nice Sturgeon.
Thanks Dan, another great video. Always awesome to see your magnificent scenery and wildlife there in BC. No bears here in Australia (except koalas, but not really a bear - and they don't eat you). Keep up the great work.
another good video Dan, love seeing the gold no matter how much or little it is great to see and the fantastic scenery is also a bonus, keep them coming cheers
I really enjoy watching your video's, even when you don't find a lot of gold! The nature all around you is so stunning! Where else can you prospect gold and watch a bear on the other side of the river? (Thank goodness there was a river between the two of you!) The only bears I will ever see is when I go to the zoo. So you're a lucky man! Living in such a beautiful country, and while enjoying nature you can pick gold at "Pickerton". I call that a win win situation. So, I will never get bored when you make video's like this one. Thanks for letting me travel with you!
Great job once again Dan. That is some very nice gold 🤙. And thanks for showing how accurate the pin pointer is, I have been thinking about getting one.
Great video Dan, would really like too see you come too the cherryville gold panning event, held usually in enderby but might be going back too the panning camp ground, it's just like the event in greenwood you go too
A nice peaceful day, bears included!.Its almost impossible not to be distracted while searching, the clear plan in mind after go out,get lost once in the field,ha ha It happens.to me with some iron veins found, cant pass near them, because if i see them, means an hour of time loose digging it,think its alive, and feels like noh no,that fool strikes again,ha ha.Have a cheap chinese pinpointer, works like yours,it is capricious, seems to detect better on the side than on the end.Day was golden itself, dont worry,NADA is usual for me,and still alive ha ha.Thank you techer, and good luck there.
That was great Dan...I really like the garret pinpointer sensitivity test. If you have the small coil for the atgold I would like to see how it does on small flakes. Thanks Dan I try to watch em all.

Could you set up sort of a semi-permanent sluice just before leaving in the winter that would sluice for you all the time the water is high in the spring? After the water goes down you harvest your gold? Or is that illegal or not doable?
Nice!! Wish my claim was that rich! I love prospecting even if all I find is flour. It's all weighs out the same. Thank for showing the Garret Carrot. You saved me some money.
I've always been interested in panning but I live in Florida which I believe it's the only state that doesn't have gold. I enjoy your videos and envious of some of the scenery you get to take in.
Are those thinner pieces from finer gold being carried down during high waters that are accumulating in a crack and by the shear volume of water it compresses them into a chunk of gold . Or are they beat up chunks that have been broken off a big Nug some where . That no one has ever found ?
Great video pretty gold Pretty River cool bear shots and your expert wouldn't be Pioneer Pauly would it? I can't wait. Thank you for sharing Dan peace out
