This band has been my main groove since I saw them in April 2013 at a club called the Note in Westchester, PA. I just cannot seem to want to listen to anything else since then. Waiting for their new tunes and discovering their old- hoping to see them in CA this spring. Lots of good people including JB who love music more than any dispute could displace. Love Big Wreck.
98, we played a stage in a bar with BW headlining and this no name, shit, Bush ripoff (which was a rip off of Nirvana which was ripping on Pixies) in between. The singer was a total douche and looked like Jesus. Ian came up to me when Jesus and his gang were on stage sucking. He repeated the chorus to one of my songs, we chatted a bit. I asked him why he was on tour with these knobs? He shrugged and I replied: "Oh. Same management huh?" He smirked and 4 years later BW broke up and that shit band blew up and ruined rock music: Nickelhack.
Buddy and I met him last summer and an AMAZING dude. I can't believe such a star would take that much time and interest in his fans but this dude is the real deal...
I love this band, I love how attentive the members are to Ian, the lead singer.... True communication on stage and RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The most tasteful cover off a TFF cover I've ever heard. You see the looks on the guys' faces when Ian does the last harmony in the instrumental break? Looks like they're having fun!
Super cool. I personally never knew Ian had so much talent. I was never a huge fan of Big Wreck but I do like their stuff. Watching more of his vids (especially his guitar vids)really forced me to see him in a new light and I gained a huge respect for him. Great singer and I love his guitar tone.
In my opinion, he is a VERY underrated musician. He doesn't get nearly as much recognition as I think he deserves. I can see not liking Big Wreck (I love them, myself) as they definitely have a "love it or hate it" kind of sound, but Ian is just a monster musician!
I heard this on Q the other day thinking who's doing this great cover? Big Wreck? But of course! Great version from one of our Canadian treasures. Well done guys!!!
I saw Big Wreck open for Dream Theater in Portland, Oregon back in the late 90's. In Loving Memory had just been released prior to the concert and just based on the live show I bought the CD. Great band, awesome live!
Holy shit that would of been a top 2 concert of all time for me if I was in your place that night! B.W. on tour with that amazing first cd and tgen OMG Mike Portnoy on drums next???? Holy shit!!!! A show that I absolutely would be.... well you amazed yourself it seemed!👍👍
Thanks so much for taking the time to video it, the sound is damn good! Such a great live performer, does it the way it was meant to be done! Not many better, solid live performance.
I was there too, one of the greatest shows ive been to! I was thinking that it would be not as good because it was a free show but as i said before, they were great!
couch63 the tab on Ultimate Guitar has Falling to Pieces in a modified version of Open G so it would be the same for Shout. It sounds fucking amazing in person. Dirty. And heavy. My god its awesome.
@Robbie Fitzgerald I think it's tuned down a half step, I was working out the chords by ear last night and it's in f#, I wish I could see his hands better (and I think this is the best video to see his hands).
One of the tragedies or blessings is that this band hasn't gotten as big as they probably should be. You can still see them in relatively intimate places.
90% of the views are mine 🙌😄 this band is so underrated!
ok bashful babydoll, i will join you on tour
Is that you screaming in my left ear during Shout? lol
They have musical intelligence and attention to detail and Thornley's fingers.

Have you watched the Thornley performances from the 2016 Suhr Factory Event? It's probably the best live Ian Thornley stuff out there.
In my opinion, he is a VERY underrated musician. He doesn't get nearly as much recognition as I think he deserves.

"Awesome!" Merci beaucoup.

You're right, I was wrong -- it's B, F#, C#, F#, A#, C# low to high. Wow,
This is fuckin amazing!
@Robbie Fitzgerald I think it's tuned down a half step, I was working out the chords by ear last night and it's in f#, I wish I could see his hands better (and I think this is the best video to see his hands).
Yep, this earns a replay.
This band is WAY to talented for today's world!!!
One of the tragedies or blessings is that this band hasn't gotten as big as they probably should be. You can still see them in relatively intimate places.
Sorry, it's not Ian, that adds the last harmony, in the interlude. lol I can listen to this for hours!!
There are times when a cover surpasses the original.
This woulda been one of those times.
Fuck me running.....
Muuito Baummmm...

This....is....WICKED!!!!
