I'm a grandparent and pretty handy but the instructions that came with the seat to convert it for a a larger child are totally incomprehensible. After 20 minutes I gave up and found this brilliant video. Job done within 7 minutes. The mystery is how you ever fathomed out how to do it yourself!! Very grateful for the time and trouble you took to make this. Thank you. Britax should hang its head in shame.

OMG, I just washed the cover and spent the last 30 minutes trying to figure out how to fix those f**king elastic bands on the side of the back cover. Was looking for hooks all over the place. Didn’t realize they were for the future use. Thank you so much for the video!

Was given one of this that used ti belong to a now 9 year old to a 18 month old... Watching this video... I reversed it to fit all the harnesses and I'd like to say a massive THANK YOU honestly.

Very helpful also for Britax Multi-tech II and Britax Multi-tech III, these seats are Evolva with rearward racing to 25kg.
You're quite right, and an oversight on my part to miss those out!
Saint Kat of the Car Seats! May the blessings of this Grandfather be bestowed upon you. The Britax instructions were a non starter - even with powerful spectacles and a magnifying glass. At least my Grandson is unlikely to shrink back down to fit the 5 point again! Time to neuter my Son in Law...😂😂😂

Thank you for the comment! Once you have removed the harness, there is a grey handle at the back of the headrest, squeeze that, and pull the headrest upwards

Thank you! Yes you can use without the isofix in booster mode. For using in the front of your vehicle, you will need to check your car handbook to see if child seats are approved in the front 👍
Can the 3 point harness still be used for the older child in the seat until they are 12 years old?
No, the harness is outgrown at 18kg, which is around 4 years old. Some smaller children will not reach 18kg until they are older, so can continue using the harness - but it is outgrown at 18kg, and must then be used as a high back booster

Really useful video - was able to do the adjustment to a high back booster, and get the covers off and put in the wash. Given this car seat a whole new lease of life! Would like to remove the harness straps as they're no longer needed and also stained - anybody got any advice about how to do this? (other than cut them off)
I’m glad it was helpful! The harness cannot be removed, so it would be a case of cutting the harness out. If you did need a harness at a later date, you may be able to send the seat to Britax for a new one to be installed. A few years ago this could be done for about £40 (not too sure nowadays).
Hi yes they can be removed it just take a lot of fiddling and patience I found a thin screwdriver helped

What age would you normally do this?
It’s weight based primarily- you can use the 5 point harness until 18kg, or until the child doesn’t fit in it height wise with the harness on the highest setting. This is approximately age 4 - I wouldn’t really be wanting to put a child in a high back booster any younger than 4 if it could be avoided due to the development of their pelvis and also maturity for keeping the belt on safely
