Monday mornings mixed media piece - Week 2

- Every Monday morning (my Monday morning, it may perhaps be at another time by you) I will do whatever I fancy to do in my altered book. I will se this as a opportunity to play, experiment and challenge myself.
Making books and altering books is one of my passions. This is an old children's book I have been altering, so I can use it for my mixed media pieces, instead of heaving loose pieces lying around in my house.

I always love and admire how you use and choose your colors and then stay in that color range. The cupboard where you store your papers is probably a real treasury!😍💖🍀
Thanks Machteld, I think I have paper for my next live to.
@@lisbethdegn-dragenkunst hahaha I believe you!💖🍀
Lizbeth I just love watching you create. Thank you!
Thank you
I couldn’t help myself, Lisbeth! The torn piece of text at the top around (one minute in) is Japanese. It reads, according to Google translate ‘the department store was the man’s eyes. He was hesitating. Meanwhile, he had already bought ten women and was chasing them.’ I always try and translate these random texts artists use for collage. It’s often very funny and sometimes rude or very un-PC - like here!
How funny, and I can see one can easily get into bad things. The strip of the Japanese text is from a book I bought in a secondhand shop. The front and back looks quite neutral so I was thinking that it was harmless. But off course I could newer know. Will see if I can get that google translate to work.

😂😂😂😂😂
I love this, reminds me of ecoprints. ❤
Thanks, yes ecoprinting on both fabric and paper is a great source. I have a smaller book on heavy watercolor paper in the pipeline
@@lisbethdegn-dragenkunst look forward to seeing it ❤️
I really enjoy how you mix the subtle colors of your papers. It’s nit fancy but so effective. Thank you. 🙏
Thanks and you’re welcome
Just loved watching you create. Thank you.
You’re welcome
Love this idea! Collage Mondays. Also, I loved watching you prep this book for your art. I’m going to do the same thing. Thank you, Lisbeth!
Thanks and you’re welcome
Today’s collage came out beautifully, the neutral colors and textures are stunning. I love the “happy accident” with the circle. It tied the two pages together 😊
Thank you
Thank you Lisbeth, I so love watching you create these lovely abstract collages. Looking forward to the next one. 💞
Thank you
You have a lovely aesthetic. I come away from your videos with many fresh ideas...
Thank you and so nice to hear
I just love what you are doing, it’s stunning and I am frantically collecting papers and thinking what colours I can get ❤
Love the way you did the stitching ❤
Thanks for your kind words
This is wonderful! I love the stitching too, adds a whole new dimension. And i’ve been using a couple of not heavy enough books to weight my finished pieces, but now i know that I need a BIG BRICK in my art space 😀
Thanks and one more tool for the tool box 😉
Wonderful pages, again, and I'm always happy to see your added stitches! The word you were looking for and almost had is "ball point pen" at least in American English!😁
Thank you, if only I could remember all the words you nice people help me with 😊
Just found you.. Binge watching and absolutely loving your work, art, method, colors.... Everything🎉
Thanks for your kind words
Just watching you open these tea bags…..I do quite a bit of sewing, so when I wash my fabrics before use, I like to put colour catchers in with the wash, and sometimes they come out really lovely colours, and the paper (?) is fairly durable….the paper ? also takes tea and coffee dyeing very well 👌
I don’t know what color catchers is, please enlighten me. Tea dying copy paper works quite well
Outstanding!
Thank you
love your work. always learn so much
Thanks and nice to hear
Hi, Lisbeth! I love the soft colours of your papers, they look like eco prints! And that black circle is a great focal point.
It was nice to hear the birds singing 🎶🧡💙🩷🩶💛♥️💜🤎💚🩵❤️
Thank you
Love it! ( And I like how you cut the black circle in half. That’s good problem-solving. I wouldn’t have thought of that. 😅)
Thank you
I adore watching and listening to you as you create. You inspire and get my mind working overtime! Now I must go find a brick. 😂
thank you, promise me not to hit your toes or throw it after somebody
Ha Ha, a surprise at the end...I wondered if you flatten your book and of course you have a 'tool' just for that purpose!
Yes we women has to have tools for every thing 😊
Your piece looks and feels so light and summery.
Thank you
ha! i have earned my wrinkles. :)
🙏 think we all have.
I’m so happy I found your channel. Love your work and a fellow Dane, well American Dane. My father was born in Danmark, Fareo Islands but lived in Copenhagen for six years then they all immigrated through Canada to the states.❤. I also love that you add stitching in your work. I love adding those bits too! Do you do any Geli printing sessions in your videos? I’ll be looking around your channel. Have a look around, and thanks for sharing your work.🙏💗
Welcome here to you. Think there were many like your father who emigrated. I have a playlist call gel print techniques, the you will find some videos.
Awww that’s great and I will check out those videos. 💗
