Can I just say how HUGELY I appreciate the way you voice over your video and there’s no music. As someone who finds music in videos jangling my frayed nerves when I’m trying to listen and take in what’s being shown, your videos are a JOY to watch! Please don’t ever change how you are doing it right now - it’s refreshingly easy to listen to and understand xx
Another great video! I can truly feel the joy you have in quilt making and bringing blocks back to life! You inspire me to do so much, please don’t stop making these happy videos!
Great hint to put bias against bias. I just love to see the beautiful old handwork rescue process. I have things stuck away in my cedar chest for this purpose - some from family and some from sales. So many projects, so little time!
Wow what a great video. They all turned out beautifully. Thank you for doing this. Please consider doing another one with the oddly shaped pieces you showed at the end. Really enjoyable. I have some old pieces too and you've certainly ignited my inclination to do something with them!
The video I didn’t know I needed to see. How fun, and all 3 quilts are spectacular. A year ago I found some hand embroidered things and didn’t know how to bring life to them - but now I have some ideas. And YES that blue with green cornerstones was perfect!!!
Totally LOVED all of these projects❤ I do have random vintage unfinished items and some finished...you have got my ideas rolling now...thanks for being so cheerful and inspiring ✨️
I had my doubts about the leaves and then it ended up being my favorite! Well done on all of them. I don’t do math either but like quilting and knitting, both which can be math weighty.
Embroidery is my most favorite thing in the world, and being vintage, makes it EVEN BETTER! I didn’t love your color choices on the leaf quilts, but the blocks were so wonderful! And I absolutely loved the squares and vintage embroideries of the other quilt! I have quite a few embroideries from the past…maybe I’ll try this. Thank you!
You're a magician! You take cast offs and make gorgeous, useful pieces from them. That's magic! I have lots of vintage handwork too but have never known what I wanted to do with them, thanks to you, now I do know and can move forward. That very last piece, the cardinal, made my heart stop, just such a beautiful piece, and my favorite bird. And yes, please teach how you do cornerstones. I like you methods.
Oh my gosh, I absolutely loved that leaf quilt. I would’ve never thought to use that blue but wow! I really also loved the little basket quilt. It was so cute. I like little things.
What a great way to preserve and repurpose someone’s hard work! I see these but am reluctant to buy because I feel bad about the maker’s work ending up in a bin - and how to, for lack of a better word, honor them. Thank you for sharing these ideas 🥰🥰🥰
I've rescued many blocks and quilt tops over the years. Some of the tops have been quilted and some of the blocks are completed tops. Your quilts turned out great.❤
I so love all three quilt tops and can't wait to see what else you do with the other vintage orphan blocks. I have lots and i always learn so much from you.❤❤
Wow, you never disappoint! I have learned so much from your videos…I love how you keep coming up with videos that inspire us to create beautiful quilts!! Yes please cornerstones and I always get excited when I see you have posted a video! Thank you so much for sharing your talents😊
Oh my goodness, these are all just gorgeous! And I didn't think I liked that old embroidery, but now I'm trying to remember where I stored it! Wow! Inspired!
This is my FAVORITE video yet!!! Have been waiting for your ideas for my bag of grandmother's linens and tatting! The setting triangles tip is genius! Saved up my Joann coupons and bought the 20 inch square ruler because of a previous video! Thank you!!!!
They are all just beautiful! 🤩 You have such a great eye for colors. I have a hard time doing that because I try to be too matchy. I need to come out of my comfort zone more. Thanks for sharing your creativity. Anyone would love to receive that happy scrap quilt. 🌞💖🧵🪡
So inspiring. Just what I needed for some blocks my grandmother made that I inherited through my mom. Now they will be displayed with pride in a wall hanging. Thank you for sharing and inspiring. P.S….i dont math either 🤣
I look forward to seeing more of your projects. These ones are beautiful in their own way. I would love to see how you do your cornerstones. Thank you very much for sharing.
I’m actually working with vintage quilt blocks I’ve had for 40 years as I listen to you!! 😂 I love using them. I believe every block deserves a beautiful finish. Yours all turned out adorably!! 💞 I use cookie sheets, too. I adhere a layer of Warm and Natural to the pan with double stick tape so pieces don’t slide off.
Great video! So inspiring. I have tons of linens of all types that my mother, grandmother, and great grandmother embroidered. Not to mention dozens of their handkerchiefs. I can hear them all laughing at the idea that things they made are now considered "vintage". I love the memories these linens bring, but I'd see and enjoy them more in quilts. After watching this video I'm excited to see what I can create!
This was so inspirational, NOW to go searching for treasures @ the thrift stores for those wonderful vintage pieces I was drawn to, but didn't know what I could do with them.
Love, Love, Love seeing this! I have also found garage sale finds that I couldn't pass up. I've only used one set so far. It was a larger teacup and teapot, so I used applique to put them randomly in the borders. This is so inspiring! (I like the pace of the video too.) Cheers, Good on Ya! You Go, Girl!! Oh!...almost forgot...you finally showed me a way to do the setting triangles for the on-point squares that I understand--Hallelujah!!
WOW!! The leaves are beautiful and the fabric colors you used just brought them all to life again. Very inspiring and yes, I would LOVE to see some tutorials on cornerstones. Cheers from sunny FL
I absolutely love your videos!!! Your voice is soothing, and you inspire such confidence in quikt making. I love how that leaf one turned out! Ive enjoyed making quilts from free fabrics I've collected...and made 2 quilts out of large panels of fabric.
I love rescuing fabric and quilt blocks at thrift stores...I found some finished blocks last year...they are pieced, modern, solid fabric Blocks...in Star Formations... Most of my quilts now are made for charity/overseas.... so much fun!
Lovely ways to use these vintage pieces; thanks for sharing your thought process. I have some pillow cases and a table runner with wonderful embroidery and have made some things with them (hanger covers) but still have more and will put them in next year's project list. Thanks for the inspiration!
Perfect tutot. I have neen making blocks for an on point quil and stressing over the triangles to make the borders straight. You have solved the problem for me as maths is a nightmare for me when quilting. So far I've not bought patterns and only made things up as I go along. So far, all that I've made has looked really nice. Even with knitting, i have problems with the patterns and up up doing my own thing lol 🤦
We hope to post them on our website newsletter or gallery later. Make sure you are signed up for that and we'll try to get them posted after we quilt them.
Great job and what a clever way to repurpose handiwork from long ago. I hope you will do a follow-up video showing ask the final quilting design that you use to compliment the vintage pieces.
What a wonderfully empowering video. I have so many of these but unsure how to use them, and a large dose of fear that I will ruin someone's else's hard work. I am now inspired. Do you have or can you make a video on putting together complementary fabrics? I really struggle with that. Thank you
th-cam.com/video/V9lSvuOhvK4/w-d-xo.html Here is a link to our color video. Remember that you are pleasing yourself!! So, try to trust your "color" gut instinct. It does help to study colors and how they affect each other. Best wishes as you progress in this area.
You are an special lady🌸🌻🌷 so happy to find your channel🤗 really. Your creativity has no limits🌈💫🌷. I have a question, got some jeans that I may not use anymore, could I make a quilt of them, could you give me any advise?😊😇🤗
I prefer only 100% cotton jeans. I have a friend who loves sewing with jeans and uses them all the time. (They are usually thicker and heavier than regular cotton.) I used to own a picnic quilt that my Aunt made for me out of jeans. She even left some of the pockets in.. She "big stitched" it together and I did love it.
Can I just say how HUGELY I appreciate the way you voice over your video and there’s no music. Thank you for watching!! And, for your kind words.
Yes!!! Same!!
They turned out so cute! I am not a mathematician either! I just continue until it works for me.
I SO understand!
You are so good at picking colors to go with those vintage blocks. Way to go!! I love them.
Thank you! Cheers!
Who knew that the leaves 🍁 would look so bright and gorgeous? This was a total surprise and a testament to your artistic abilities. 💕😘
Thank you so much!
They all turned out beautiful!
These all turned out so lovely 😍 my favorite is the leaf one. The colors are so vibrant!
Mine too! It turned out SO beautiful!!
Wow, ALL are beautiful. But my favorite is the leaves. A striking quilt. ❤
Good choice!
Great hint to put bias against bias. I just love to see the beautiful old handwork rescue process. I have things stuck away in my cedar chest for this purpose - some from family and some from sales. So many projects, so little time!

Wonderful! It is so satisfying to make "new" out of "old".
I had my doubts about the leaves and then it ended up being my favorite! Well done on all of them. I don’t do math either but like quilting and knitting, both which can be math weighty.
Yes!! I look for every trick to skip the math...
Great ideas the original creators would love how you have given new life into their work❤
Absolutely!! I hope so.

I often have bais as well. My solution is to just pretend I don't. 😅
Great solution!
That cardinal you showed at the end would look fantastic in a quilt. When will you do that one ? I love them all!!!
Not sure yet... but thank you for loving it. I love it too!!
