i think canon is lagging behind sony for that price, sony zv-e10 is way better, and if you can put a little more money into a camera, the sony fx30 is the best idea on the table for 2023
My bf is buying me this for Christmas for my social medias. It’s a total upgrade from my iPhone 12 Pro Max Plus. I’m so excited. I’ll be doing a lot of traveling so I’m pumped to see how it performs! Can you make a video of you doing videos outside on it? I really want to see how well it performs as I am a travel content creator.
The camera is fantastic however, it’s the price. Also, I have all my lenses for my Canon 70D. It’s an older camera but that doesn’t mean it’s obsolete. Yes, it can only shoot video in 1080p but when you post to TH-cam, it’s more than enough. So my suggestion is not to be afraid of older equipment and think about the cost verses what you’re going to use it for.
Plus it only has 2 lenses available for it at the moment. I bought this camera used thinking it took rf lenses that has decent selection of lenses available in that line to come to find out it only truly takes rf-s lenses. It can use a rf lens instead of rf-s lens but if you do then it crops in at 1.6x, something a lot of these creators on youtube won't tell you as they are getting paid to promote this new camera to everyone.
@@scottrc85 If you buy the RF to EF adapter for $100, you will get to use all the EF and EFs lenses that have been produced. This will save you allot of money in the long run, as the EF mount has the most lenses available. If you buy the EFS 10-18, you will have the perfect vlogging setup.
Price for performance this is the best EOS camera out there. Has the same X processor as the R5, 15 FPS , substantially enough MP for high resolution. The only downfall is that it has a APS-C sensor but then again, it is more about what you are doing. For the price, it is a snip

I would go with the R7 instead of the R10. I picked up an R7 last month and the reason for my decision between both cameras was due to having the ability to use CLOG 3 with videos on the R7. It's comparable to the R3 ($6,000) for a fraction of the price.
No, it's not. The R10 is $500 cheaper AND includes a lens. The R7 is overpriced by about $200. Plus it's 32 megapixels which sucks for an APS-C sensor since you will need high end glass for all that resolution. So tack on another $2k for a nice RF lens. No thanks.
The downfall to this camera is it only has 2 lenses available for it at the moment with no adapter / converter available yet that dont crop 1.6x. It's not cropped because of the lenses. It's APS-C sensor which is 1.6 times smaller than a a full frame camera. If you have the two cameras at the same distance from an object with the same full frame lens, it will appear more zoomed in. To compensate you either use a more shallow lens or move the camera back further to get the same shot. This is not necessarily a bad thing despite what full frame snobs will tell you. The advantages are a smaller and lighter camera which is great for run and gun or hand held shooting. You dont lose quality as they tend to add smaller and more pixels than most full frame sensors. So the quality ends up being fairy similar now days. If you tend to capture images that require a telephoto lens, you actually come to appreciate the extra zoom you get. Lastly these cameras are more affordable. The biggest disadvantage is in low light. Due to the larger sensor and pixels of full frame cameras, they tend to let in more light. This usually gives you a cleaner image in low light. However many newer APS-C and micro four thirds cameras are finding other ways to clean up those images. The difference isn't as great as it was in the early DSLR days.
The lenses dont crop,, rf-s 11mm and rf 11 mm have the same view angle the difference is that if you use RF-s lens on a FF R camera it will have to be in a crop mode. So that means that You can use all the RF lenses , there are some good affordable rf lenses 50mm 1.8 and 16/2.8 and with the adapter you don't loose anything regarding performance. So there is a great offer of affordable lenses to adapt.
@@TomislavMoze you are incorrect on that there is 1.6x crop factor applied to this camera when you use RF lens. There are lots of articles about this online as being so and even on canon online community and other youtubers have also confirmed this.

The difference is that the RF lenses have a wider image circle and they will work with a larger sensor. So if you have RF-s 50mm the image you get will be the same if you use the RF 50mm. You suggested in the first comment that crop is there because of the lenses, but it is not it is cause of the sensor size.
Who uses APS-C lenses? They are garbage quality and a waste of money since they become useless if you upgrade to a FF camera. Everyone I know uses FF lenses on their crop sensor cameras, myself included. They are MUCH better quality than any APS-C lens.
When shooting talking head footage what settings were you using? Did you change the white balance? Whenever I shoot talking heads everything looks so warm and saturated and generally just off. Also, how do you get the nice bokeh? What aperture was it shot in?

What would you recommend for someone shooting TH-cam videos for a home maintenance channel where sometimes you’re on the move, sometimes you’re set up on a tripod and sometimes you’re trying to hold a camera and capture what you are doing on a project with the other hand?
@@richw8342 That is what I’m using now but was thinking about upgrading to a camera just so that my phone isn’t constantly full with video. It would be nice to have a large memory card dedicated to video and maybe I could even start filming in 4K. My phone just doesn’t have the capacity for that resolution.
I myself have a channel and use the R7 and have the R10 as a B-Cam. I like canon and if you film on a Phone you can get quick good results out of the r10 and r7. Paired with the rf16 f2.8, the Efs 10-18mm and the rf 50 or rf 35 f1,8 you can get great shots. At least that is what worked and works for me. I also would add the sigma efs 18-35mm lens which as well does the trick and is very versatile. Also check out the Sony EV z10. No touch screen but better low light and you can get tons of lenses for that one also from sigma, tamron and co which is currently not as Easy with canon. Hope that helped a bit, cheers

im a bit confused i hope you can explain to me. aps-c got a crop factor on canon cameras of 1.6 but i heard that when you get the canon r10 4k 60 fps. there is a crop factor . is when i use the 4k 24fps has zero crop factor, or the 4k 60fps has an additional crop factor to the basic 1.6?

Is this better than ZVE10 interms of photography and vlogging outdoors? Im looking for a camera that takes photos that needs no edit. For ZVE10 it requires post editing which takes a lot of work.
Sony does it for me as well, @@betterwithblake. The ZVE10 has been on my wishlist for a couple of months since Omar reviewed it, and just when I'm about to go buy it, this video comes out. Now I feel reassured I still want the ZVE10.

My camera choice is the Canon M6 Mark ii. 32.5MP sensor, 4K 30p. Yes, it's an EF-M camera, but it runs very well. I might look at the R10 at some point.
The rumor mill has is that Canon plans to release 2 more R series APS-C cameras soon. One of which is supposed to be an R mount M50 equivalent in capability and price. While I have some reservations about the M50, such as the additional artificial crop at 4k, it has been a great camera for beginners. I'm personally waiting to see what they actually come up with.
The M50 is actually a great camera for beginners and what I currently use. Shooting in 1080p is just fine for me. 4k is a bit overstated and would require further upgrades in size of memory card being used, a newer laptop capable of editing 4k videos without freezing every 10 seconds, more batteries, and more expense on data to upload the huge file sizes of 4k videos.

I have the EOS M6 Mark II it's cheaper and also great, but I would suggest you go for the R10 because of the body handling, EVF, no 30 min record limit, 10 bit color, articulating screen and can shot in 4K50/60fps
@@sentry8992 I have an M50 with the kit lens, that I bought new for 500€ on eBay in 2020. I just recently won a bid on a new M50 Mark II with the kit lens for 391€. I seriously don´t think the guy knew what he was selling, because it was listed as an M50. I bought both these cameras, because this TH-cam channel "Think Media" recommended them. They are both good cameras for the price, and great for beginners. I don´t consider a camera that costs 1000€ for just the body, a beginner camera. Get yourself an M50 Mark II, or if you want to spend more, either of the Sony EV models which cost around 700€, that come with a lens.

If video is your priority, then get the ZV E10. If you are planning to do both photography and video, then I would suggest you to wait for sometime as Sony is about to release the A6xxx series soon next year. Canon has shut down the third party lens support which is a deal breaker for me.
@@Rxn2016 I want to use it for video, with some photography, but I also really want an evf in my camera. The ZV-E10's product showcase mode is great, but canon's menu systems are much easier to use for a beginner like me...
I have my R10 being used for filming top down. for some reason I am getting a blur like a slow motion look to it when there is movement. I am running it through OBS for Mac, with an El Gato Cam Link. i am set to FHD 29.97P. I have this camera and my Canon 80D as well as my lights going through one USB C port since my computer only has 2 USB C ports. The other is for the Shure MV7. Any advice anyone can give to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Hey yall !! So I got this camera to use for live-streaming and I have it connected through the hdmi cable with a power adapter and when I’m live-streaming the camera shuts off and I have timers, etc. disabled. Is there something I’m doing wrong ?

You must mean "Rich Beginner"?! LOL This camera costs twice as much as an M50, or M50 Mark II, I´ll stay with my M50, which I got with the kit lens for 500€, and my M50 Mark II, which I got with the kit lens for 391€. Both were brand new, and both are great cameras for any beginner. Sorry, but I don´t consider a camera that costs over 1000€ a beginner camera. Sorry, I´m a big fan of your channel, and have learned a lot from your videos, but it looks like you were paid to do this one. Hope you guys don´t sell out.

You sure the EOS WEBCAM UTILITY PRO is free with a USB cable? My understanding is it's totally not free... and you have to pay a subscription....

I put my R10 in my studio in Manual Video at 1080p and never overheats. Any 4K video always gives me a warning for overheating.

I have the EOS M6 Mark II it's cheaper and also great, but I would suggest you go for the R10 because of the body handling, EVF, no 30 min record limit, 10 bit color, articulating screen and can shot in 4K50/60fps

Great camera, hopefully Sony will update the camera with a higher resolution flip out screen and a decent EVF. Allot of travel TH-camrs use the a6400

Maybe a good secondary camera if you already have a DSLR (I have a T7i and Sony A6600)

The zve10 doesn't have a viewfinder, so keep that in mind
The Canon M50 or The Canon M50 Mark 2. These two cameras are the predecessors of the R series.
@@sentry8992 I have an M50 with the kit lens, that I bought new for 500€ on eBay in 2020. I just recently won a bid on a new M50 Mark II with the kit lens for 391€. I seriously don´t think the guy knew what he was selling, because it was listed as an M50. I bought both these cameras, because this TH-cam channel "Think Media" recommended them. They are both good cameras for the price, and great for beginners. I don´t consider a camera that costs 1000€ for just the body, a beginner camera. Get yourself an M50 Mark II, or if you want to spend more, either of the Sony EV models which cost around 700€, that come with a lens.

Would you suggest the Sony ZV E10 or this EIS R10 ?
If you are using it for photography, then get the r10, and for video , get the zv e10.
Also, the r10 is $ 1000, and the zv e10 is $800..
If video is your priority, then get the ZV E10. If you are planning to do both photography and video, then I would suggest you to wait for sometime as Sony is about to release the A6xxx series soon next year. Canon has shut down the third party lens support which is a deal breaker for me.

I have my R10 being used for filming top down. for some reason I am getting a blur like a slow motion look to it when there is movement. I am running it through OBS for Mac, with an El Gato Cam Link. i am set to FHD 29.97P. I have this camera and my Canon 80D as well as my lights going through one USB C port since my computer only has 2 USB C ports. The other is for the Shure MV7. Any advice anyone can give to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like your stutter speed is set too low

Hey yall !! So I got this camera to use for live-streaming and I have it connected through the hdmi cable with a power adapter and when I’m live-streaming the camera shuts off and I have timers, etc. disabled. Is there something I’m doing wrong ?

LOL This camera costs twice as much as an M50, or M50 Mark II, I´ll stay with my M50, which I got with the kit lens for 500€, and my M50 Mark II, which I got with the kit lens for 391€. Both were brand new, and both are great cameras for any beginner. Sorry, but I don´t consider a camera that costs over 1000€ a beginner camera. Sorry, I´m a big fan of your channel, and have learned a lot from your videos, but it looks like you were paid to do this one. Hope you guys don´t sell out.
