I love how he gives the underdog perspective and redraft perspective. Mason is only one of two people I listen to about fantasy in the offseason. Don't think anyone grinds like him. Everyone else is just noise. Love the content Mason keep it up!

This is exactly the kind of video that makes Mason a weapon in your Fantasy drafts. The ESPN insight into round by round strategy is backed up by data and absolutely the kind of key insight one needs to crush their draft. Cheers mason, love your video choice to compare platforms. You could even do a video on each platform for all your subscribers.
My strategy changes depending on how the draft is going. My rule of thumb usually is to no matter what, get 2 RBs somewhere between rounds 1-4. Maybe you get Jamaar Chase round 1, get him by all means, but you better grab a solid RB in Rd 2. Or maybe you end up somehow with Garrett Wilson Rd 2 or something... ok, you're grabbing Aaron Jones and Stevenson the next 2 rounds
It’s always interesting to see the difference in adp when using different apps.
This was probably one of the most helpful fantasy football videos I’ve ever watched tbh. I probably wouldn’t have thought about adjusting my strategy from my Underdog drafts to my home drafts but your explanation of middle round values made a lot of sense, so thanks.

Someone from my friends league dropped Travis Etienne, Deshaun Watson, and TJ Hockenson. I picked up all three. I Alr had by far the best team, and now I got even better

Every single person is going wr early creating massive values on rbs round 1 and 2. I’m almost always fading going wr based on the notion that everyone believes wr should go first in underdog. Gotta be different to win it
I've been going double hero running back in mocks currently, in round 1, and 2 and getting Walker in Seattle as my 3rd RB and flex spot lol. Then I get my wide outs unless there is a QB or TE I love.
It's a 10 man PPR 2 starting running backs and wide receivers with only 1 flex spot though on ESPN.
If I don't go double hero, at this point it will be because I'm looking to start runs at other positions, and I'll pick off my guys that slip through the cracks once the panic starts in.
Last year my league mates went all in on wide receivers early, and then quarterbacks and tight ends in the middle rounds largely ignoring the running backs in the first half of the draft.
@@shadowwolf9909 I can easily get cmc and saquon in the first two in these underdog drafts at the moment at the 5 spot. That just seems like a massive buy low opportunity
@@JoeyJustin9 yep doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing in a draft is always fun for me personally.
The key is deep scouting the positions you plan on passing on early so you clean up late when everyone else is trying to find their running backs for example.
I made my own rankings solely to crush ESPN and Sleeper leagues
Going to a draft like that you need to have a separate set of rankings, not nearly as efficient as UD ADP
Yeah, in my ESPN rankings I have CMC at 3 and Kelce at 4, but in UD rankings I have them down at like 7 and 8 as an example
@@FlockfantasyPlus the lineups are so different that even though ud adp may be "more efficient" it doesn't really apply to standard redraft leagues

The WR values on players like Diggs and AJ Brown and even Garrett Wilson make this so difficult... Almost like you would prefer a late pick in ESPN redraft due to the screaming values and flexibility.
Just all about the values you can get later IMO
I like pick 6, get Kelce and even Diggs or Brown then you can get maybe JT or Chubb in the 2nd and Higgins, Smith in the 3rd, 4th

Have you thought about doing the opposite? I’m sure injuries will play a factor but since we can’t calculate that we should be disregarding them and set the advance rate to something low like 5-6%

I’m sitting at 9 in my espn redraft league and being able to easily grab a combo of Saquon, Chubb or Pollard at the 9-12 turn is crazy because I can still usually get Gibbs and a solid wr at the 29-32

well for at least this year id disagree.more people will pick wr in first and second rounds than probly ever before.if u take 2 rb then in the third most of the great wr positions have already been picked and u still have a big chance of at least one of the rb u picked will get hurt.if that happens your season is over in most cases.
I have yet to see CMC make it past the second pick.

I know exactly what you’re talking about lol. I had Miles Sanders, Kenyan Drake and Lamar Jackson that week. Can’t remember who else but I hung 200 points on my opponent. Drake had 35.
Still a good move it's fantasy can't predict fly breakout games you always start your studs.

@@philipbryan2685 it's a lesson learned about riding the hot hand. Forget name value, if a dude is producing consistently, trust it. Drake was that year, Kamara wasn't. That's a valuable lesson

Last year was the first year I ever broke the rb early rule in redraft as there was plenty of hidden talent. I almost won again. I won't be breaking it this year as I dont see the hidden talent.
What's your plan this year?
JK dobbins and Deandre Swift don’t entice you? Situation isn’t entirely like the Jacobs one last year, but the talent is there
@@Flockfantasy Probably a back to basics year with a focus on rbs early (again this is in redraft only). In my best ball leagues it will still be wrs more often than not due to the adp difrences you mentioned. Best ball just leans more into pass catchers with big play potential in general.
It is all about finding those league winners and there are very few after the 3rd round. (other than maybe swift. Though i just dont trust phili to not be in a committee of rbs + hurts)
@@MrSchnavid I will be taking penny at his adp over swift at his every day of the week. More than likely a committee requiring one of the 2 to get injured to be a league winner. Plus there is Hurts vulturing rushing td upside.
