Hey Mason, great video! One thing missing from your video that I would have found interesting is to know what was the hit rate of rb to be league winners coming off a season where they hit the numbers you were talking about (26years old, 39% carries and x% target share). Would have been interesting to see if there was a lot of misses.
I love drafting RBs in round 3/4 this year. I can see a situation where like Henry gets traded to a better situation mid season, Rhamondre becomes a 300 touch, 60 reception workhorse and they can both our score some of the top RBs. I find it hard to make a case that 3rd/4th round WRs like DK Metcalf or Deebo Samuel can out score Adams or Lamb
@@mikehawkins9114ehhh tennessee is a pretty meh team. tannehill has proven he’s a stopgap at best, i don’t know about levis, their weapons are pretty bad, their o-line wasn’t very good but they did address it. they’re not a terrible team but id say they’re more like a 7-8 win team
Idk if this would be possible, I LOVE your top 30 wr videos with tiers. Is it possible to do a 30-60 or something? I would love some tiers to look at when drafting those later rounds. I feel lost when in those spots and feel like I’m missing out on end of year talent by not grabbing those young developing guys
Yea amazing content.... he told us to pick the running backs that are on every single person, website, and media outlets. top 10 RBs....No shit Sherlock Holmes. He mind as well made a video and told us we should drink water cause it's good for us.
Mason I've asked in several videos now, I get looking at last year stats but you also need to see what changed this year too........ JT for example goes from noodle arm qbs to a mobile QB. History shows mobile qbs don't dump off the ball (so he loses targets which are crucial). Then mobile qbs take carries away (especially goal line carries) so how does JT check every box with losing a lot of opportunities by the statistics of mobile qbs show? Only thing that improves on rbs is usually their ypc because of the mobile QB. Please help me understand how your gonna say JT is a sure bet?
I'm slightly concerned about this too, but think JTs still going to have so much volume, in hopefully a better offense, that he's pretty much a lock as an RB1
@@johnjacobs3601 ya my other problem is a rookie QB. Everyone thinks it's a huge upgrade but fail to understand he might take half a season or longer to get going. And if that happens your drafting a guy in the 2nd round the has less receiving work, less goal line carries, and just less valuable touches overall. I'm not saying JT the player is bad, but I would much rather wr, wr, then get a Stevenson in the third round.
@@robertbarrows4795 He might be great, but he might be Malik Willis 2.0 out the gate. There's always the chance that Minshew starts the 1st 8 games too, so that could be a good thing.
Thanks for sharing. Who wouod have thought the "secret" tovdraftong running backs would be taking thr RBs that are in everyones top 10. Man how do you do it. Just pure genius is what it is.
Hey Mason you should make a video on your draft strategy for Sleeper adp. (For deeper leagues like a 10 man 3wr 2flex ppr league). Thanks brotha love the content as always!
Mason, what do you think of Tony Pollard's injuries? I was originally very high on Pollard but have been backing off of him lately. According to some fantasy doctors, Pollard had 2 injuries and those injuries may take longer to fully heal/recover than what is widely being speculated. Pollard did participate in OTA's but apparently it was a very modified OTA schedule. Also, he really has never been the RB1 for an entire NFL season and it will be worth monitoring how he holds up with his frame. It would be interesting to combine the research you did for this video with how the teams with the league winning RB's did overall? Were they all playoff teams the year prior and/or the year after? That would be an interesting marker. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this research.
Mason how do you feel about Alexander Mattison running a 4.67 and people saying dewayne McBride would’ve been a day 2 pick if it wasn’t for injury??? I’m being offered Rochson, Mattison and a 25 2nd for Hockenson in full ppr no te premium start 8 1 QB and I have pitts
I’m a pats fan. Drafted mondre in 2 leagues last year, one of them being a keeper league where I got him in the 10th. I can tell you right now, the pats will likely not get a veteran RB to come in. They waived James Robinson because he’s too fragile. Now they have a mix of Ty Montgomery, Pierre strong & Kevin Harris. I think mondre sees a bulk of the workload with these guys coming in as specialist change of pace backs. Pierre strong - speed Kevin Harris - power Ty Montgomery - pass catcher Expect to see mondres passing volume dip slightly this year, but he will become more efficient with his touches. He is a beast & should not be overlooked.
I have to pick three keepers in a half-ppr league. Who would you pick between: Rhamondre Stevenson, Tony Pollard, Tyreek Hill, Justin Field, Kenneth Walker ?
League winners last year Tony P and Rahmondre were DAWGS, trust the guys who can get targets and are the most explosive player they’ll find a way to earn touches
Are O line, team succes rate & or Coaching system significant variables in lesuge winners? Like do we really see the Raiders being a good enough team to support JJ?
Personally i use o line and strength of schedule to try and help me. For running backs o line is super important in order to protect, SoS helps determine if teams will be more likely to win, which typically translates into fantasy performance. Injuries can disrupt these though so i usually only factor in the extremes
i think najee can be that guy. he did have 94 targets in year 1, though thats with an aging ben who needed to dump off. being healthy after the lisfranc injury im buying hard on najee
Rhamondre is a beast I think NE not going out for another running back when they got scrubs shows a lot. Also he has a good BMI. If he was in an ovr better offense he would be RD1 value

He had like 56 targets last year. I think he will be like prime Kamara in terms of his carries and targets. Like 10-12 carries and 4-6 targets per game
I remeber having the number 2 pick in 2019 and taking kamara over CMC. Kamara had a down year and i was pissed. When i got the number 4 pick in 2020 i passed on kamara. Rough day.
Predicting breakouts: find guys who split carries but now becomes the bellcow. Assuming Cowboys don’t sign Hunt or Cook, Pollard looks like a league winner IMO
Idk if this is just semantics or actionable, but should we actually count it as Chubb's age 28 season when he plays the vast majority of the season at 27? He has almost the latest birthday possible.
Why can’t Bijan be a league winner when you get him at the end of the 1st round. He can outperform Ekler and CMC easily. (My definition of a league winner is a player that outperforms their ADP with the players ahead of him. I find this by drafting guys with the highest upside) How can you have Jacobs as a smart pick in the 3rd. What are we really expecting out of this raiders offense with jimmy G at QB. There won’t be many red zone opportunities in this offense. Jacobs doesn’t want to sign his contract because he can see how bad this offense will be. It will be stacked boxes for him every down, and if he gets hurt he will sit out because there is no point of playing for a losing team. We saw this last year with players. In general, I rather have a player with higher upside like Gibbs in the 3rd or 4th All these problems I have with Jacobs I have with Adams in general don’t touch the Raiders offense. In most drafts how does adams go ahead of Wilson. It’s crazy. To Sum this all up I feel picking any of the raiders players will be one of the worst picks at their ADP, and everyone will be saying that they couldn’t see this coming. I can’t wait to see all of the excuses that how they picked Adams or Jacobs, and that is why they lost their league. It is better to be ahead of the game and not follow the general consensus on guys.
