- Sorry for the non-technical terminology in this video, I wasn't in the mood to be professional, haha..
Its sad that RRNA charges such a ridiculous price to change out this headlight but my passenger side finally went out so I ordered another amazing Osram D3S bulb (buy 1 bulb on Ebay for between $75 and $120 each) and did the install myself in 15 minutes. It was much easier than the drivers side (see my other video for that) because nothing had to be removed other than the housing cover. Supposedly this costs $500 or more at the dealer, what a joke.
You saved me a small fortune. Bulb was expensive but can't imagine what Land Rover would have charged me. Thank you!!

really difficult on right hand drive L494s - this US video shows the approximate location of air filter housing etc but the access is very tight with another line holder just above the lamp housing. I had to force that off (and replace the button clip with a wall plug afterwards). I also has to take out the top of the airfilter just to get a hand in to turn the lamp in and out.

4:01 - it doesn’t “redirect the light “. Your skin has oils on it. If you touch the bulb, you may transfer some of the oil to the bulb. Due to the high heat of the bulb, that oil spot could heat up and cause a hot spot on the glass causing the bulb to prematurely fail. In addition, I suggest you open the box from the other end so you can reach in and grab the metal base. If you do touch the glass with your hand or get dirt on it, wipe it clean with a clean microfiber cloth.

Hi, I am not sure if the L494 has an indicator light specifically for exterior lighting. Both of my lights went pink and I never received an indicator light but I will keep an eye out for this happening for future outages. My first headlight bulb lasted 6 years and this one lasted 7, not bad. These Osram replacements are 20x's brighter than the factory version, I drove at night recently with both of them installed and it was so bright!
newbie question: do you have to do something with the ignition or computer or reset something in the car before replacement? or just simply replace the bulb?
Nope,.simple unplug,.plug and play. Ranges don't have any indicators or warning systems attached to the bulb itself so when they go bad, you don't know until you drive at night.

It's been a long time since I did this change out ao I would just search for the direction online but you should be able to figure it out if it doesn't come out easily clockwise, just do the opposite.
