So true, I’ve loved them for 45 years. Ray is one of the most brilliant and prolific songwriters to ever exist in this realm. Mutltides of tone def, incurious dullards have never listened to an entire song by The Kinks?! They’re missing out.
One of the so many things I find noteworthy, or ironic/interesting: Dave was a pioneer of distortion in the 60’s, but when he matured as a virtuoso soloist in the 70’s and 80’s his playing is characterized by this beautiful pure lyrical tone.
My favorite 60's Kinks tune. That halting, stop start way of playing was the Kinks trademark. Ray is singing fantastic and Dave was a lead guitar pioneer. At least they didn't get in a fight, which I've seen before.
Hardly? This infers barely any. Half of the originals playing here and I might add the 2 most important people. Lead singer/song writer and rythem guitarist along with lead guitarist and back up vocalist. Bass player not original but played the longest as a Kink. Kinky enough for my liking. Wish we could have this lineup again, unfortunately never again.
...so, we're missing Mick Avory and Pete Quaif, 2 of 4; I see your point¿☆? But I'll take this version; it sounds great, and Dave is updated, and cuts it up¡☆! 🤔
The bassist is Jim Rodford who was a founding member of Argent and played with them through their entire career. He played with the Kinks for 18 years. Hardly a slouch.
One of the best songs of all time! There I said it.
You are right on!! Lucky to see them in concert in the late 70's in Seattle, Wa
…one of the best BANDS too!!!

This might be my favorite of his songs from the days when he was a specialist in these three notes. (Ray’s Gregorian-chant-influenced period)
You have a fine set of ears as it's always been my favorite Kinks tune. "Destroyer" would be a close second.

Another iconic guitar riff that will go down in music history!
Their 60's songs still rocks to this day
The Godfathers of hard rock. Thank God for the Kinks.
キンクス最高❤
🎵🎵🎵 GREAT 🎵🎵🎵
Proper music!
These boys just might have a band there! 😆🥁🎵🔊🎶🎼🎤🎸🎹🤟😎
The best ever!!
Me encantan los Hermanos Ray and Dave de The Kinks!!!
Ese mismo día se presentó Maldita Vecindad fue en la segunda temporada de Jools Holland tipo 93 o 94 . Saludos .

Le top
LUVLI 😅
i curse the camera operator who couldn't linger on a guitar neck for even a moment without immediately bolting away and showing a facial closeup
You're right.
Corrected ...
Why did Ray start it over?
Hardly "The Kinks"........but still quite good...

It's like saying at various points over the years: "hardly the rolling stones"! 😅

2 Davies brothers = Kinks
Did someone see and
Les frères Davis se battaient parfois et les musiciens devaient les séparer et ,c ' est pas une légende urbaine !!😮😮😊
This is a hard song to play
Kinks...not Kings
