There is some rotational twist to the quill - nature of the beast I suppose. If you notice the connection to the quill from the "calipers" is a notch. Meaning it (the caliper hook) can float a small amount. Also note the clearance holes on the "anchor point" allows a small amount of adjustment as well. Between those two items, it has been working flawlessly for several years now.
Doesn't the backlash twist the micrometer? I really like it and going to have to do something like that as I'm always guessing, thanks.
